PROBLEM OF THE STUDY

The biggest mistake managers make when maintaining problem employees is avoiding the problem . they stay away from the employees and place added burdens on other employees whom they trust. This leads to a whole host fo other bigger problems

Talk to the employee . they may not realize there profomes or behavior is unacceptable. Focus of workers representatives is different from the focus of the remaining members of the board. Communication and subsequently relations between the workers representative and the workers suffers after the former assumes directorship. Focus on specific positive outcomes paint a picture of what behavior you want them to start exhibiting, I need you to start doing this because .. He or she tends to become alienated from the workers As a result, he or she may be less effective with the other members of the Board in dealing with employee matters. Such representatives of workers on the Board, places them in a minority. And the decisions of the Board are arrived at on the basis of the majority vote.

Once you start dealing with a weak employee , firing them may become the only option . make sure you prepaid yourself for that by keeping a record of all issues and interaction , it can save you a ton fo time and money

SCOP OF THE STUDY

One view is that workers or the trade union should, as equal partners , sit with the management and make joint managerial decision. The other view is the workers should only be given an opportunity , through their representative . to influence managerial decision at various levels. In practice. The participation of workers can take place by one or all the methods 1. Board level participation 2. Ownership participation 3. joint councils and committees 4. collective bargaining 5. job enlargement and enrichment 6. suggestion schemes 7. quality circles 8. empowered teams

Participation at the board level This would be the highest form of industrial democracy . the workers representative on the board can play a useful role in safeguarding the intrest of workers 1. he or she can serve as a guide and a control element 2. he or she can guide the board members on matters of investment in employee benefit scheme like housing and so forth participation through ownership 1. this in volves making the workers shareholders of the company by inducing them to buy equity shares. 2. In many cases , advances and financial assistance in the form of easy repayment options are extended to enable employees to buy equity share Participation through joint councils and committees 1. this method sees a very loose form of participation, as these council are mostly consultative bodies 2. work committees are a legal requirement in industrial establishments employing 100 or more workers 3. such committees discuss a wide range of topic connected to labour welfare participation through collective bargaining through the process of CB, management and workers may reach collective agreement regarding rules for the formulation and termination of the contract of employment, as well as condition of service it an est ablishment . even through these agreements are not legally binding, they do have some force participation though job enlargement and job enrichment excessive job specialization that is seen as a by product of mass production in industries,, leads to boredom and associated problem in employees. Two methods of job designing .job enlargement and job enrichment are seen as methods of addressing the problems 1. job enlargement means expanding the job content adding task elements horizontally 2. job enrichment means adding motivators to the job to make it more rewarding . this is WPM in that it offers freedom and scop to the works

Participation through suggestion schemes Employees views are invited and reward is given for the best suggestion. With this scheme the employees intrest in the problem of the organization is aroused and maintained. Progressive management increasingly use the suggestion schemes, suggestion can come from various levels. The ideas could range from changes in inspection procedures to design changes process simplification, paper work reduction and the like. Out of various suggestions ,those accepted could provide marginal to sub stantantial benefits to the company. The rewards given to the employee are in line with the benefits derived from the suggestions

Participation through quality circles A QC consist of seven to ten people from the same work area who meet regularly to define, analyze , and solve quality and related problem in their area. Training in problem solving techniques is provided to the members

Research Design: To design means to plan i.e. the process of decisions before the situation arises in which the decision to be carried out it is thus a process of deliberate anticipation directed towards bringing an expected situation under. For any research, the design is very important. Research design is a parameter or boundary, which allows researcher to work on it. For this study the researcher has used descriptive and evaluative research design because in the research design the researcher has been allowed to go into deep of the study.

Methods of data collection Primary data The questionnaire is for collecting the basic data Secondary data Rest of the study is done through my conceptual abilities and the book by surfing on net and with the help of guide
