The KSEF Scholarship Luncheon
Under the leadership of Dr. Rex L. Crawley, (Board President) the KSEF
hosted its annual scholarship Luncheon on June 6, 2009 at the Holiday Inn

The foundation announced and introduced the naming of


two special awards, The Marcus P. Blakemore Undergradu-
ate Award ($1000) designated for an undergraduate Kappa
of high achievement and the Thomas A. Motley Award
($3000) the Foundation’s top financial award presented to a
worthy African American male high school senior, the Motley
award winner also received a Dell Laptop compliments of
Dell and Brother Kevin Clarke of the Baltimore Alumni Chap-
ter. Proceeds from the red jacket affair help fund the scholarship endowment
fund. 2009 recipients include: Jasmine Smith (Presidential Scholarship),
Krisohonna Williams (Presidential Scholar-
ship), Andre Shrock (Thomas A. Motley KSEF is the philanthropic not-for-profit, 501

primary goal of the organization is to provide
financial support to African American men
interested in pursuing higher education
opportunities. In addition the foundation pro-
vides philanthropic support to organizations in
the Pittsburgh community and beyond.

KSEF is currently accepting nominations for


board membership (self nominations
accepted). KSEF board membership is open to
men interested in furthering the philanthropic
cause(s) of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity inc.
Letters of nominations should include a
resume, a statement of interest and be for-
warded to Rex L. Crawley, PhD., Board
President, Crawley@rmu.edu no later than
September 18, 2009.
