All candidates shall be required to appear in an entrance test at Ujjain in University campus. The
entrance test will comprise of objective type paper and/or essay-type paper. The duration of each paper
shall be three hours. There will be no negative marks. A merit list shall be prepared on the basis of this
examination
Each candidate shall have to appear in interview. The date of interview shall be decided after the result of
the entrance test is declared, which will be available on the website of the University.
After the interview, the admissions shall be finalized and notified on the website. The candidate shall be
notified about the research centre where he/she will pursue Ph.D./Vidya Varidhi programme and the
supervisor and co-supervisor, if any, under whom he/she shall do research work and prepare the thesis.
After admission, the student shall be required to undertake the prescribed course work of one semester
duration.
After satisfactory completion of the course work, the candidate shall be eligible to submit a synopsis of the
propose research work alongwith with the title of the thesis.
After approval by the Research Degree Committee of the synopsis, supervisor, co-supervisor if any, and
place of research work, the candidate shall be registered for Ph.D./Vidya Varidhi degree from the date of
registration (as defined in the ordinance)
