A reversible engine is supplied with heat from two constant temp sources at 900 k &600 k and rejects heat to a constant temp sink at 300 k. The engine develops work equivalent to 90kj/s and rejects heat at the rate of 56kj/s. estimate1. Heat supplied by each source 2. Thermal efficiency of the engine. 7. The pressure of steam inside a boiler is recorded by a pressure gauge which shows 1.2N/mm.If the barometer reads the atmospheric pressure as 770 mm of hg find the absolute pressure of steam inside the boiler 8. A Carnot engine works between pressure limits of 35 bar & 0.7 bar. Find the amount of work done /kg of steam & thermal efficiency of the engine 9 .In a Rankine cycle the maximum pressure of steam supplied is 6 bar. The dryness fraction 0.9.The exhaust pressure is 0.7 bar. Find the theoretical work done and rankine efficiency. 10. Find the enthalpy and entropy of steam when the pressure is 20 bar and specific volume is 0.009 m/kg 11.
