Breeders' Cup Challenge Series "Win and You're In"
$1,000,000 Guaranteed
(Plus up to $150,000 for Eligible Ontario Breds)
FOR THREE-YEAR-OLDS AND UPWARD By subscription of $1,000 each which shall accompany the nomination and an additional $10,000 when making entry.
The purse to be divided: 60% to the winner, 20% to second, 11% to third, 6% to fourth and 3% to fifth. Weight: Three-Year-Olds, 119 lbs.; Older 124 lbs.
Non-winners of a Gr. I race in 2009, allowed 3 lbs.; Of a Gr. II race in 2009 or a Gr. I race in 2008, allowed 5 lbs.; Of a Gr. III race in 2009 or a Gr. II race in 2008,
allowed 7 lbs. (Note: Grades as recognized by the International Cataloguing Standards Committee.) (No Canadian Bred Allowance) Final entries to be made through
the entry box no later than 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2009. A supplemental nomination may be made no later than the time of final entry, by a
non-refundable fee of $20,000, which includes the entry fee. *Plus up to $28,950 Ontario Sired/Ontario Bred Breeder Awards. PLEASE NOTE * THE WOODBINE
MILE (GR.I) is under Woodbine Stakes Race Surveillance program (WEG Thoroughbred Rule 3.1 Part III.) As such, each horse entered into the WOODBINE MILE
(GR.I) must be in a stall at Woodbine on Friday September 18, 2009 by 11:00 A.M. at which time the Surveillance rules will commence. All horses will be subject to
Ontario Racing Commission Out of Competition Testing in accordance with Rule 39 of the Rules of Thoroughbred Racing. The Woodbine Mile (Gr.I) has been
selected as one of the Breeders' Cup "Win and You're In" Challenge Races. The winner of the Woodbine Mile (GR.I) will be entitled to automatic entry into the 2009
running of the Breeders' Cup Mile, subject to the payment of all Breeders' Cup nomination, pre-entry and entry fees. To be eligible for the 2009 Breeders' Cup
Championships to be held during the Oak Tree meeting at Santa Anita Park on November 6 and 7, 2009, all horses must be pre-entered by noon (Pacific Time at
the designated pre-entry locations) on October 26, 2009. All applicable fees shall accompany the pre-entry. In the event a designated Breeders' Cup Challenge turf
race (Turf Sprint, Juvenile Turf, Juvenile Fillies Turf, Filly and Mare Turf Division, or Mile Division) is taken off the turf, due to unsafe racing conditions, the horse that
wins the "off the turf" race will NOT receive an automatic qualifying position to enter the Breeders' Cup World Championships in the applicable Turf Division race.
The decision to take a Breeders' Cup Challenge Division turf race off the turf course is under the sole discretion of the racetrack/racing association, not Breeders'
Cup Limited.
