Preface
Audience
This document is intended for: Field service technicians Specialists Project managers Foremen.
Assumed Knowledge
You must have a basic understanding of the following: For planning purposes: Network architecture and reshuffling principles Scheduling. For realization purposes: Alcatel-Lucent operations and maintenance concepts for BSS 9153 OMC-R operation Equipment (BSC, BTS, MFS) hardware configurations Windows environment.

1 Overview
1 Overview
This Overview gives information needed by project managers and foremen, for presentation to the customer and for site planning.
7 / 28
1 Overview
1.1 Presentation
The presence of transcoding rate, adaption, and radio transmission capacity in the BTS, meaning the needed BTS equipment is present, is reflected by the value "equipped" of the status attribute "equipped status". "HR Flexibility" introduces the possibility of defining the speech-coding rate at the TRE/TWIN TRA and TRX level. Full Rate TREs/TWIN TRAs are treated before Dual Rate TREs/TWIN TRAs. If a TRE/TWIN TRAs is added to a cell split on two BTSs, the TRX attribute is set to "main" or "secondary", depending on where the TRE/TWIN TRA is added. The scenario uses configuration management rules specific to the 9153 OMC-R. In order to create a required configuration, it is possible to add more than one TRE/TWIN TRA.
1.1.1 Cases
The following case applies: C1: TRE allocation mode: on demand C2: TWIN TRA allocation mode: on demand C2.1: TWIN TRA is configured as 1 TRX, Non-TX-Div, 2 RX-Div C2.2: TWIN TRA is configured as 1 TRX, TX-Div, 4 RX-Div C2.3: TWIN TRA is configured as 2 TRX, Non-TX-Div, 2 RX-Div
Note:
1.1.2 Options
The method takes into account two options (O1, O2). The default is a BTS without frequency hopping where the frequency for the new TRE/TWIN TRA is known and the TRE/TWIN TRA remains in traffic after the operation. O1: BTS with frequency hopping system declared O2: New TRE/TWIN TRA does not have a frequency allocated and after the operation it remains OPR.
1.1.3 Restrictions
This procedure does not cover adding aTRE to a low loss configuration, which implies antenna reconfiguration.

1.2 Preparation
1.2.1 Prerequisites
The following prerequisites apply: BTS sites are clean, tidy, easily reachable. The OMC-R is in release B10. The BSC must be operational and running in release B10. There are enough resources (Abis time slots and TCUCs) to handle new TREs/TWIN TRAs(TCH, SDDCH, LAPD). If not enough perform Attach Secondary Abis. Test frequencies must be available In case of adding a TWIN TRA, the BTS must be equipped with SUMA The BTS must not contain any G3 TREs for a configuration with more than 12 TREs.

Task Description Activate PRC (PRC1). Choose to activate using these options: Queued Activation, With Cell clean-up, and Without forcing Cell Administrative State. Display Pending Activations List, to see when the activation is finished.
Site OMC-R
To do 5 min./ cell
The activation time depends on the number of cells. During the activation: supervision outage for 1.5 min. Telecom and GPRS outage: 1 min./cell only for O1. As there is a new TRX, if it has a biggest priority than the old TRX calls and packet traffic are cut on the less priority TRX. ATTENTION: During the activation the impacted cell(s) becomes yellow and the GSM Alarm is "Loss-of-TCH". This alarm disappears when the TRE hardware installation is finished.
Optionally, View Last PRC log Activation. Close PRC (PRC1). Inform the BTS site when the PRC activation is finished.
