PRE-CHRISTIAN HISTORY OF THE FISH SYMBOL

For centuries, the symbol of the Fish has been used throughout the world (our planet Earth) as a religious representation of the Pagan Great Mother Goddess. Christianity the religion asserts that God has created humans in his own likeness with self -consciousness, the freedom to make their own choices, moral accountability, intelligence, and spiritual qualities which enable them to relate personally to him. And in this invented reality their doctrine or system of belief advocates/promotes that there is one God who is the possessor of infinite wisdom, and is holy and all powerful and has existed forever. It is also upheld that this God is personal and exists within himself as three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit that have always existed in a love relationship. The Material or visible universe is the creation of this God (who is himself unseen ) and is dependent on him for its existence. He transcends (exists beyond) created matter. He is not bound by space, nor time, And as their God created the Universe. He is separate and distinct from it. This God shared in created human nature in the person of Jesus Christ. The Church Fathers suggest that this God desires that his creation the human family be united in a loving relationship tha t already exists within the persons of the above described, so-called Holy Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) and also, enjoy companionship (association) with him in this life and after death. It is taught by the Church that we exist beyond death either in a relationship with this God or without him. That is dependent upon the choices which we make in this life. And it is further emphasized that since the material creation matters to this God that our bodies are to be resurrected at Jesus or Christ's sec ond coming, And, in a transformed state which will be similar in resemblance to that of our Savior s (Christ Jesus) body. The Christian dogma (body of religious beliefs) as perpetrated by the Church is such that one is left ignorant as to the truth of who and what the true and living God is. It is a mystery religion that is responsible for the promotion of a mystery god. One if you will notice I would not give honor to in any manner, even to the point to capitalizing his undeserved title. There is no God but God and He is not a spirit, neither is He a spook. He has no religion. He is the Asiatic Blackman. His proper name is Allah. The only God known,. And before we continue in our research I must state that fact for the record. Before I continue in this treatise (writing on a particular subject or topic) I want to bring to light just a few more inconsistencies responsible for the imprisonment of those who are blind, deaf and dumb as to the lies of this dirty religion of Christianity. Also they, the perpetuators (those who are responsible for its spread) of this religion inform us that their god is perfectly good, and that he created humans with the same qualities of moral goodness. Yet humans have misused the freedom given to them (free will) and that their moral nature has become perverted (twisted). Their moral nature or goodness has become tainted through sin (human shortcomings or failings) and has affected their relationship with god in a negative manner. A god whose justice or righteousness demands the condemnation (denouncing) of evil. Lastly this god makes himself known throughout history (hisstory) through his actions and the appointment of chosen individuals or prophets - those who interpret his will and in particular through his entering the world in the person of Jesus Christ. They promote the baseless idea that history had a beginning and will culminate (end) with the return of his son Jesus Christ whom he (god) has appointed as judge of the human race. This god they proclaim will create a new heaven and a new earth in which His people (those saved) will live eternally in a joyful an d happy relationship with him. Mind you all that what I have illustrated thus far is only a fraction of the deceptive yet mesmerizing tenets (established fundamental beliefs that are generally associated with religion and/or politics) which form the basis of Christian thinking amongst the masses of the human family. It is an extensive deception which I encourage you to research and learn the truth as it is also extensive and quite broad in its meaning. The purpose of this investigative report by I 7DPA is that you the reader do your own research and determine the truth that has been hidden in their lies. The hidden truth or mythology which underlies Christianity and thus, Christian thought is that Jesus was not the Messiah (Savior, Liberator) nor Deliverer as depicted in the New Testament (Bible). Neither was he a God with supernatural powers who could resurrect the dead and perform other miracles. He is a historical figure that never existed at all. And Mary, the Wise Men, the Disciples, the Patriarchs, the Saints, and indeed the Prophets are all works of clever fiction and, amalgamations or descriptions of ancient gods and other characters which were merged into the body politic of Christianity, and which had existed in the mythologies (folklore or traditions) of various cultures on our planet Earth.

In reality (in truth) this savior-figure Jesus is merely a representation of the Sun, which has been respected for thousands of years (millennia) for its ability too chase away darkness and bring light and heat (and therefore life). There are other relevant points that must here be brought to your attention: The early Christians were not persecuted (victimized) as harshly as many present day Christians are prone to suggest. The spread of Christianity was much later and evolved into acceptance more slowly than his-story records. The Four Gospels (New Testament) of the Bible did not appear until approximately 150 A.D. at the earliest and perhaps much later. The books of the Bile have been repeatedly altered and outright forged. The written Bible, popularly referred to as the canonical Bible was not assembled until after the year 1000 A.D. And, the Hebrews did not develop monotheism (the concept of one God) and were latecomers to that concept. The Christian religion and Masonry have one and the same common origin: Both are derived from the worship of the Sun. There is more to our lessons and the history of Christianity and other relig ions than many of us suspect. Our purpose here is not to invalidate the teachings we were given by others such as Fard Muhammad or The Honorable Elijah Muhammad. The truth needs no validation nor corroboration when our own research of those subjects they gave us confirms our knowledge. As Allahs Five Percent (Gods and Earths) we Knowledge Wisdom. That is, do our own research rather than Wisdom Knowledge which is to blindly accept the research and teachings of others. We take nothing, and no one on face value. So my Alikes, let us not continue to waste time seeking to discredit our predecessors for their shortcomings and also their not knowing of what we now know. They did the best with what they were given and handled their affairs and leadership of their nation and members as they saw fit. Their religion limited their capacity to see as We, who have no religion see. Their lack of objectivity (inability to see things without influence or prejudice) and unwillingness to go beyond the protocols (oaths and bonds) they have agreed to uphold were / are stumbling blocks for them. Not for our Father Allah. And, not for us. Where they are / were convinced by faith (belief, devotion and loyalty to something or, somebody) we are therefore encouraged by our knowledge and understanding to get past the wisdom knowledge of others and to live out our mathematical reality which informs us that we as Gods and Earths conduct our affairs as teachers of truth by the merging of Knowledge and Wisdom as our method of reaching the people. Giving them the facts based on proof rather than the invented characters and romantic allusions of a life better than what is here in the Earth. The Christian concept of a heaven. The Islamist and Paradise. And, Buddhisms Nirvana. We build as we d o to achieve that which our forbearers never could. They did not possess our Mathematics (Supreme) neither our Intelligence (information). We are in principle (the laws which govern our existence) held responsible for what We know. And we must do our work. Dont focus your energies on disproving anothers work. We have enough on our own plate to concern us. It is our time. Theirs is past. Never to return. In spite of, or regardless of our enemys own maliciousness and intent to destroy us, we must survive his plans. Which means that you and I must have a plan. A plan to not only survive his intentions, yet also to win this war of his invention. Many of our own people, young and elder alike have been deceived into an acceptance of their condition as slaves of mental death and power and are unwilling to rise up and take the actions which will secure for them the freedom[s] and power they will need for the achievement of peace and happiness here in the Earth, and especially here in the land of their dissatisfaction, North America. Our land. The land of our future and our childrens future. A stolen land, which at present is under the control of beings who h ave established their status in the Earth as rulers through all manners of treachery and devilishment, deception, manipulation, the institution of war and the usurpation (taking over) of governments and their economies of natural law as their method of acquiring and holding power by rule of force (military and law). And, I am not the first Original to say these things. I am a national of the Nation of Gods and Earths. The term national in this respect identifies me as a member of our nation or society which is united for a common cause. I hold no reservation in stating that our purpose is to educate the people of the Earth as to the exact nature and cause of their enslavement and entrapment. And inasmuch as we are determined to be free, it is important that we know and come to understand the exact who, how, what, where, and when of our dilemma and the source of our discontent. That the status of body sovereign is exclusively reserved to whites (caucasians) is discussed in exhaustive detail in a court case entitled, Dred Scott v. Sanford, 19 How. 393, 426. While minor portions of this case have been slightly modified by more recent decisions of the courts, black political activists continue to complain that no significant part of the Dred Scott case has been overturned. It is still the controlling case law for this business of classes of citizenship and sovereign status and standing. All of the original State Constitutions that I have examined (and that is most of them) contain more than one specific reference to white inhabitants or white males usually in reference to the militia (reserve military force), the voting franchi se, and property rights. Some of those constitutions have clauses which make specific exclusions of non-whites, e.g., Chinamen, Mulattoes, Indians, etc., and thats not including constitutions for the Confederate States! Todays political indoctrination would have us believe that the 14th Amendment and all the Bills and Acts of Congress since spawned under its authority changed all that. It did, didnt it? Not exactly my friend, not exactly. About 15 years ago or so two convicted black murderers (whose guilt was proven beyond question) petitioned the Supreme Court to set aside the verdict of the jury and release them from prison. Without a lot of media fanfare, for obvious reasons, it did so! What is even the greater surprise is the reasoning presented to the court. It was the same in both cases. These are unpublished cases and Ill have to paraphrase what was shown to me, but the argument went something like this: Under this form of government, c itizenship cannot be forced on anyone without his consent. Since the black man was not a citizen at the time and therefore had no voice through the voting franchise in the adoption of the 14th Amendment, no consent was given. Thus, there is no evidence that c itizenship was accepted or even wanted by all the blacks in America. Non-citizens are not subject to the domestic laws, civil or criminal, of this country. Thus blacks and other non-whites in America enjoy an immunity that is very little different from that afforded to visiting foreign diplomats and their families. The only recourse available to the government against such individuals is their expulsion from the country. Since the black man was brought here against his will, that option is not available either. Despite some technical flaws, the Supreme Court agreed with that line of argument and granted the petition of both men! Since that time, how many more have been released from prison with the same sort of argument? Actually, not as many as one might think. Today there are a multitude of ways to prove the indirect acceptance of citizenship, not the least of which is a cashed welfare check. Be that as it may, the affirmation of that line of reasoning by the Supreme Court in more than one case poses a serious question as to the actual validity of that portion of the 14th Amendment which brings us to the other part of that foundation of which I was talking: Christian.

THE CHI-RO SYMBOL

The Chi-Ro symbol is one of the earliest forms of a Christogram, which is a monogram which uses letters to form an abbreviation of the name Jesus Christ. They (Christograms) are traditionally used as Christian symbols. The Chi -Ro symbol as such a type of monogram if formed by superimposing the first two letters in the Greek spelling of the word Christ ( Greek : "" ), chi = ch and rho = r, in such a way to produce the monogram . Although not technically a cross, the Chi Rho invokes the crucifixion of Jesus as well as symbolizing his status as the Christ. WITH THIS SYMBOL YOU SHALL CONQUER Its pronunciation is KI - ROW and it is probably the oldest known monogram that history records for illustrating the name of Christ. In ancient Rome it was found written on the walls of the Catacombs, which were the (underground) cemeteries of the early Christians and the place where they held their secret meetings. The Chi and the Ro are the first two letters in the Gre ek word for Christ. The CH was one letter in Greek and was shaped like an X. The Greek R had the shape of the letter P in the English alphabet. By combining the RO or P to one arm of the Chi we get XP. As a pre - Christian symbol the Chi - Ro implied good fortune. The Chi - Ro became an important Christian symbol when it was adopted by the Roman Emperor Constantine (AD 306 to AD 337) representing the first two letters in the name Christ. According to Eusebius of Caesarea* the night (evening) before the Battle of the Milvan Bridge** he, Constantine saw this symbol in a dream with the inscription With This Symbol You Shall

It takes its name from the Milvian Bridge, an important route over the Tiber (river of central Italy which flows south and southwest through Rome to the Tyrrherian Sea at Ostia - its ancient harbor city. Constantine won the battle and started on the path that led him to end the Tetrarchy (traditional Roman government of four rulers) and become the sole ruler of the Roman Empire. Maxentius drowned in the River Tiber during the battle. According to chroniclers such as Eusebius of Caesarea and Lactantius, an early Christian writer who became an advisor to Constantine. The battle marked the beginning of Constantine's conversion to Christianity. Lactantius (circa AD 240 - AD 320) recounts that Constantine and his soldiers had a vision of the Christian God promising victory if they would put the sign of the cross on their shields. The Arch of Constantine, erected in celebration of the victory, and stands as a testament of Constantine's success through divine intervention; yet, the monument does not display any overtly Christian symbolism such as the CHI - RO.

INSIGHT ON SOVEREIGNTY - RELIGION, LAW AND POLITICS - continued from page 10

There is little to argue concerning the religious persuasions of the original colonists in this country. One of the earliest published criminal codes in the American colonies was the Laws and Liberties of Massachusetts 1641. Aside from a few adaptations taken from the common law of England, that portion addressing crimes and their punishments was taken verbatim out of the Old Testament of the Christian Bible, primarily the Book of Deuteronomy. It is surprising how many public servants of today, especially those acting as judges, who will tell you that with the ratification of the Constitution came a separation of Church and State. There is only one place that I know of where that is specifically mandated. You will find it at Chapter 10, Article 124 of the Constitution for the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. The judges in Americas courts created for themselves a doctrine of a separation between Church and State. The only basis Ive heard offered for this doctrine is a comment Jefferson (T. Jefferson - 3rd Pres. United States, Amer.) made in one of the Federalist Papers which, when you read it (all of it) was taken entirely out of an obvious context. One must certainly question the integrity of anyone supposedly learned in the law who would try to rationalize such a doctrine. The Constitution itself concludes with, ...in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven No official document or record is cons idered valid unless dated in reference to the year of our Lord The Oath of Fidelity/Office public servants must make before performing any official act concludes with, ...so help me God. Until only recently, all official Oaths were administered after the placing of one hand upon a Christian Bible. Blacks Law Dictionary defines Christian as: Pertaining to Jesus Christ or the religion founded by him; professing Christianity. As a noun it signifies, one who accepts and professes to live by the doctrines and principles of the Christian religion; it does not include Mohammedans, Jews, pagans, or infidels. One who believes or professes or is assumed to believe in Jesus Christ, and the truth as taught by Him. It seems odd to me that we are expected to believe such rubbish when nearly all the observable evidence points in the opposite direction. And dont think I beat the drum for Christianity with this book. There are those who are better equipped to beat that drum. You will find them in your local churches. If what they have to offer is the whole truth of the matter. It will stand on its own. Actual truth doesnt need any help from me or anyone else. It demonstrates itself. As religions go, Christianity is a relatively young one, and some Black scholars are quick to point out that, except through the device of adoption, it is essentially a white mans religion. Some fragmentary evidence has been brought to my attention that strongly suggests that the black mans history, cul ture(s) and religion(s) may very well pre-date those of the Indo-Chinese peoples, which are known to date back over 10,000 years! Remember: by legal definition, Christianity is not quite yet 2,000 years old. Now, you may be wondering what all this has to do with that foundation of which were talking. If so, go back to the first bald statement and read it again. Notice that we have both white and Christian being used in relation to the body sovereign. Remember, a sovereign, by definition, makes the rules of acceptable behavior for a political structure as well as many of the more social attributes. The men who framed the Constitution for this nation were all white and most of them professed to be or were assumed to be Christian. Those who were not, at least had the good sense to express their views in a way that was acceptable to those who were. With that assemblage came a whole set of established moral codes, ethics, beliefs, and many other cultural influences that would have acted upon and been relied upon by these men as they considered the formation of a more perfect form of governme nt. And they made it pretty plain (in the Preamble) that they were doing it for themselves and their posterity (their own future generations). Notice, too, that the phrase used was more perfect not perfect. Although their reasons were a bit more practical and immediate than that, I cant help but wonder if at least some of those men were wise enough to realize that so long as there is more than one human being on Earth, there will be no such thing as absolute perfect, not without some kind of direct intervention by a superior intelligence, that is. As the Constitution neared completion and even long after it was finished, it was repeatedly said that it was written for a moral and righteous people and wholly inadequate for any other. We have only to look around us at what this country has become to see the truth of that. The adulteration of any body of moral or ethical codes with another or others is unavoidably going to wreak havoc on established standards. A cubic inch of earth is supposed to contain thousands of living organisms. The name is supposed to be true of a cubic inch of water from the oceans. Mixing the two creates mud, in which few, if any, of those organisms (from either environ) can survive. There is more than one lesson to be learned from that simple observation. You probably have heard the old adage, When in Rome, do as the Romans do. That generally works if youre just passing throu gh. If you plan on settling down there, youd best find out why the Romans do what they do before the faade (deceptive appearance) starts leaking, and it will with time What this country and its people have become is by no means an accurate measure of what it started out to be. However, the organic Laws of this nation have not changed, Theyve mostly been forgotten for lack of use. The underlying principles have not changed. Theyve m erely been obfuscated (made obscure or unclear) through legal embellishments (exaggerated details).

Community Imperialism is about whats happening to the African -American community and what needs to be done to rid ourselves of imperialism. Its about politicians and police (pronounced Poo -leece). IN OUR STRUGGLE FOR NATIONAL LIBERATION, we are now in the phase of community liberation, to free black communities from the imperialistic control exercised over them by the racist exploiting cliques within white communities to free our people, locked up as they are in Urban Dungeons, from the imperialism of the white suburbs Ours is a struggle against community imperialism (political. economic and military domination). Our lack communities are colonized and controlled from outside, and it is this control that has to be smashed, broken, shattered, by whatever means necessary. The politics in our communities are controlled from outside, the economics of our communities are controlled from outside, and we ourselves are controlled from outside, by racist police police who come into our communities and occupy them, patrolling, terrorizing, and brutalizing our people like a foreign army in a conquered land. THE POLITICS In the first place, our communities have been gerrymandered (manipulated for unfair advantage). When it comes to drawing the political boundaries of electoral districts, on the municipal, county, state, and national levels, the lines are drawn in an unfair way that deliberately dilutes the political power that our numbers entitle us to. We are over 20,000,000 or 30,000,000 strong. Yet, we are political beggars. In districts where we are concentrated, in sufficient numbers to elect a representative, we are still robbed because the racist select the candidate for us and then we are called upon to certify that selection by going through the dumb ritual of an election, electing those who have been selected for us by our enemies. These bootlickers and uncle toms who are trotted out grinning, for our approval, know exactly what they are doing. They are traitors to their own people In addition, this all takes place within a rigged system that pretends to be democratic but is actually controlled by money. Big money! A look at the Presidential this year shows that there is nothing but a Millionaires Derby. The truth about this rotten, corrupt, racist, undemocratic system is so clear that no one wonders how the political racketeers in the Democratic and Republican parties get away with it, or how do they have the audacity to come out in the public talking that talk. A look at the public laughing it up, however, reveals just how unaware the people ar. And black people, who have been victimized by this system every moment since they were first dragged over here as slaves, are still, to a large degree, hung up on it. We say that we are working for our national liberation, and that in order to achieve that, we must have universal national consciousness within our people. But before we can really tackle that monumental job, an essential step is to achieve community liberation; we must have a solid community consciousness. A community that, year in and year out, allows itself to be raped politically, is not conscious. It is dead, locked in a deep slumber. There is no power in our communities but it is not in the hands of our communities, or in the hands of traitors who are the flunkies for the Big Wheels in our communities. THE ECONOMICS Economically, we are at the mercy of the exploiters, businessmen, storekeepers, merchants who have turned our communities into market-places out of which they make huge profits, through high prices and high rents, draining off all the prosperity, taking it home with thm, making their neat, clean suburban communities into show-places of prosperity, and our leaving our communities to deteriorate into desolate, poverty-stricken slums.

We have been organized into poverty. We must organize ourselves out of it! We are cut off, blocked from the sources of wealth. We have no control over the land that contains the natural resources out of which goods and products are manufactured. We have no control over the machines and factories that take the natural resources and make them into goods and products. We have no control over the wholesale and retail establishments that take these goods and products and offer them for sale at a profit. From beginning to end, we have no control over the economic process. Gathering the natural resources from the land, processing these natural resources into goods and products, marketing these goods and products at a profit, all is controlled by others. We are out of it. There used to be a time when we could get jobs, at low pay, in one of those phases of the economic process, but now even these jive jobs are gone and quickly disappearing, and we are being replaced by machines and these machines are owned and controlled by others. And those who own and control everything, have hired themselves a crew of strong - arm men to see to it that nobody interferes with their good thing, their pot of gold, their horn of plenty.
THE POLICE These strong-arm men, the police, are there to see that we dont budge. The law -and-order they are hired to enforce is designed to insure that the political control and the economic exploitation continue undisturbed. They are there to stop black people from organizing themselves to move against these conditions and improve their lives, and when we move away, in spite of the efforts of the police, we are labeled by the lying propaganda men, who are also on the payroll of those who own and control everything, as rioters, looters, and criminal troublemakers. MUST MOVE AWAY We must move away. We have no choice. The survival of our people depends on our moving, demands that we move. By struggling against these conditions, we are doing nothing more or less than continuing the struggle of our ancestors, of the generations of Black people who have struggled up from slavery. And we are reaching the end of our peoples long, hard struggle, because the end is in sight. We know what we want, and need, and must have, the power to determine the destiny of our Black communities. POWER TO THE PEOPLE

In recent times we are now hearing such things as our lessons (120) are either out -dated or, out-of-synch with the reality of our peoples needs. Not just by outsiders to this culture. Those from whom we would expect to hear such nonsense. Yet now we are also hearing these same things within the cipher of our own or those who claim that they are one with us. Yet they would dare to say that our lessons are Muslim lessons and seek to minimize their importance and devote their time to the research and study of that which they consider to be more relevant or appropriate in order for our people to gain knowledge of themselves and our condition as a people. They would encourage you to study Egyptology, Pan-Africanism, Moorish Science or other disciplines and dont focus on 120 Lessons. Which means to not only study our lessons yet also to do the research required in order that their true importance and significance can be validated as our foundation (source of reference) for teaching the truth to our people. And especially the young who are in need of credible (reliable) information based in facts not theories, beliefs, romantic allusions of historic grandeur, or the religious dogma that has been given us by ten percents to use us and enrich themselves. Answer - Buddhism is 35,000 years old. Christianity is 551 years old. We want to explore only Christianity in this edition. We will cover the religion of Buddhism at a future date. Moving right along however, The above lesson was given in the year 1933. If we go back 551 years in time from that year we arrive at the year 1382 when John Wycliffe aka Wycliffe John (1328 - 1384) an English scholastic philosopher and noted authority on religion translated the Vulgate (4th century Latin translation of the Bible) into English. Brought up to the present date we would now be 78 years (1934 - 2011) from when the above question was answered and Christianity in the form given to study would now be 628 years old. Yet, we know or should be aware that Christianity is much older than 628 years old. Historically (their story) Christianity or the Christian religion concerns itself as a religion (worship of a deity or concept of a God), its followers and the Church with its various denominations or groupings within its faith structure with their own organizational system. The Christian Church had long claimed that it was founded by the followers of Jesus of Nazareth in the 1st century and that they believed him to be the Christ or the Chosen One of God. To continue on, as mentioned above the translation of the Vulgate which is a late 4th century Latin translation of the Bible. It (the Vulgate) was largely the work of Saint Jerome (347 AD - 9/30/420 AD) who was a Roman Catholic priest, theologian (expert on religious doctrine or dogma), confessor (Christian who stands by his faith in spite of persecution) and historian who in 382 AD was commissioned by Pope Damasus I (approx. 305 AD - 12/11/384 AD) to make a revision of the prior texts (collection of written works) which were known as the Vetus Latinas or Old Latin Bible. Saint Jerome who would become revered as a Doctor of the Church (those recognized as being of great importance to the advancement of Christian theology) and also a saint by the Eastern Orthodox church. By the 13th century his revisions would come to be known as the versio vulgata or commonly used translation and eventually it came to be recognized and accepted as the definitive (most authoritative) and promulgated (widely published) and official version of the Bible in the Roman Catholic Church. To this builder and researcher of the knowledge which gives validation to our studies it is always an uplifting experience to know that I Divine am not alone in my discovery of the truth as I do my research on the truth which abounds in the facts that our lessons reveal. The truth which many will unfortunately never seek to uncover. JOHN WYCLIFFE If we subtract 551 years from the date in which the student enrollment was written, we would not arrive at the date in which Jesus Christ socalled returned to the essence, which would be more or less the date in which the Western world calendar records history . Christianity supposedly is the teachings of Jesus Christ, in essence, Jesus taught freedom, justice and equality, and at the time the Student enrollment was written, Christianity should have been 1,935 years old and not 551 years old. (Why the difference in dates?) Subtracting 551 years from the time the student enrollment that was written 1932 gives us the date 1381. The Bible was translated into English and given to the common people in this year. Prior to this date, only certain individuals of nobility were the ones in possession of the Bible, written in Latin and French. John Wyclif took it upon himself to make the Bible a common Possession of all Christians in England in the language of all the people. From him comes the first English translation of the New Testament, while the Old Testament comes from his association with Nicholas of Hereford. When the first translation emerged, it became the object of violent controversy. The translation was opposed and forbidden. Thus, the mass of people came into the possession of the Bible unknown to the Church, yet many manuscripts survived and were wide spread among the common people. In many of his books, one may discover immense attacks upon the papacy and the entire hierarchy of his time. John Wycliffe In the summer of 1381 a.c.e. Wycliffe formulated his doctrine of the Lord's Supper in twelve short sentences, and made it a duty to advocate it everywhere. Then the English hierarchy proceeded against him. The chancellor of the University of Oxford had some of the declarations pronounced heretical. When this fact was announced to Wycliffe, he declared that no one could change his convictions. He then appealed neither to the pope nor to the ecclesiastical authorities of the land, but to the king. He published his great confession upon the subject and a second writing in English intended for the common people. His pronouncements were no longer limited to the classroom they spread to the masses. The followers of John Wycliffe, the Lollards, grew greatly in number throughout the land. In the midst of this commotion came the Peasants' Revolt of 1381. Although Wycliffe disapproved of the revolt, he was blamed. Yet his friend and protector John of Gaunt was the most hated by the rebels, and where Wycliffe's influence was greatest the uprising found the least support. While in general the aim of the revolt was against the spiritual nobility, this came about because they were nobles, not because they were churchmen. Wycliffe's old enemy, Courtenay, now Archbishop of Canterbury, called (1382) an ecclesiastical assembly of notables at London. During the consultations an earthquake occurred (May 21); the participants were terrified and wished to break up the assembly, but Courtenay declared the earthquake a favorable sign that meant the purification of the earth from erroneous doctrine. On November 18, 1382, Wycliffe was summoned before a synod at Oxford; he appeared, though apparently broken in body in consequence of a stroke, but determined. He still commanded the favor of the court and of parliament, to which he addressed a memorial. He was neither excommunicated then, nor deprived of his position. While Wycliffe was in the parish church on Holy Innocents' Day, Dec. 28, 1384, he again suffered a stroke, and was carried out the side-door of his church, in his chair. John Wycliffe died on the last day of the year, three days later. The Council of Constance declared Wycliffe (on May 4, 1415) a stiff-necked heretic and under the ban of the Church. It was decreed that his books be burned and his remains be exhumed. This last did not happen until twelve more years later, when at the command of Pope Martin V they were dug up, burned, and the ashes cast into the river Swift that flows through Lutterworth. In conclusion the lesson is building on the English version of Christianity as per the Roman Catholic Church. Because this is the type of Christianity that was taught to the slaves in 1555 a.c.e., in the wilderness of North America as the slave master of America were mostly English from England, Peace.
