M-I SWACO have requirements for trainee Drilling Fluids Specialists to join our expanding German operation.

From the moment you join MI SWACO you will under take an intensive training programme that will see you attend an 8 week Basic Mud School course at our global headquarters in Houston, Texas. Upon return you will initially be mentored by an experienced Drilling Fluids Specialist to develop the necessary knowledge of best practices to perform the duties of a stand alone Drilling Fluids Specialist 1. As a Drilling Fluids Specialist 1, you will be responsible for the execution of drilling fluid activities at the well site in a professional and organised manner. Supporting clients drilling activities at various sites (both on and offshore) you will be required to determine clients fluid requirements, establish effective relationships with key rig site personnel and ensure all daily and post job reports are correctly completed and distributed to the relevant personnel. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: The maintenance of drilling fluid properties via chemical and physical treatment as dictated by the operator/mud programme Supervision of all mud treatment ensuring the correct use and maintenance of solids control equipment. Ensuring accurate chemical supply and consumption records in addition to maintaining an adequate rig site chemical inventory Ensuring the maintenance of accurate offshore testing equipment and chemical inventories Ensuring regular maintenance and calibration of drilling fluid test equipment The provision of complete, accurate and informative daily Drilling Fluid Reports The provision of complete, accurate and informative well summaries Liaising as required with onshore/offshore M-I SWACO /operator personnel Attendance at all company and operator organised safety meetings These positions offer the candidates a long-term structured career path and the opportunity to develop their career in a rapidly expanding sector of our business.
