The difference between Norse Gods and Greek Gods

The Viking Gods of Norse Gods: Introduction The red-blooded, rip-roaring, gung-ho Gods beloved by the Vikings. We could have listed them as Nordic, but 'Norse' sounds like the snorting of a giant battle stallion so we went for that. Their idea of Heaven was VALHALLA. Warriors only. You had to die in battle first and be escorted by beautiful blonde VALKYRIES. Here you could clash in battle all day long, your cleft limbs and cleavagings miraculously restored at the close of play. Then you spent all night carousing, feasting, getting roaring drunk and discussing the day's fun. REGIONS COVERED: Scandinavia, which includes the Nordic countries Denmark and Sweden, plus Norway and Iceland. We also go anywhere the Vikings went and there's a hint of Germanic territory too. TRIBES, CULTURES AND PEOPLES COVERED: The peoples of the Scandinavian countries, covering the Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and Icelandic peoples - and of course the Vikings! NAMES OF GODS: Balder or Baldr He was the God of joy, innocence, beauty, spring, forgiveness and anything positive that you possibly think of. LOKI, He is the infamous God of mischief. He was liked by the other Gods originally but that changed. He was a shape shifter and he could even change his gender.

HEL, She happens to be one of the Lokis daughters. She was sent to overlook the realm of dead by Odin himself. FRIGG, She was the wife of Odin. She was also the only one ever allowed to sit on Odins throne during his absence. Frigg was the Goddess of motherhood and fertility. FREYR, He was one of the most beloved of Gods. He was responsible to oversee the realm of the elves. Freyr was the God of weather, peace and male fertility. He was responsible for bringing peace and pleasure to mortals. HEIMDAL, He was the watchman and guardian of the Gods. He would stand guard over the Bifrost Bridge. FREYA, She happens to be the Norse equivalent of Aphrodite; a Goddess of beauty and love. TYR, He was the God of glory, man-to-man combat and war. ODIN, This guy was the King of Asgard and the ruler of the Norse Gods. Name anything and Odin was the God of it be it war, death, hunting, magic, poetry, victory and prophecy. His appearance was much like a wizard. He had a very large beard and flowing robes. He was the God with one eye and he owned an eightlegged horse. THOR, He was the God of thunder and lightning. Thor is the one that they feared the most. He wielded a legendary hammer called Mjollnir and he would kill even giants with just one swoosh.

The Classical Gods of Greek Mythology: Introduction What can we say about the Greeks that they haven't already said about themselves? Consummate tall story tellers, they have classy classic Gods for all situations. Full of twists, turns, plots within plots, wit, humor, satire, belly laughs,

blood-curdling thrills, Greek Gods have beginnings, middles, and ends without end. Coming soon to a temple near you! And they are all big stars - brawnier, more beautiful, and larger than any life you have ever known. The Romans couldn't improve upon them. So they just gave them a quick makeover and turned the whole pantheon into a spin-off sequel. REGIONS COVERED: Greece, Greek islands, Athens, Argos, Attica, Corinth, Thessaly, Lesbos, Aegean, Arcadia, Rhodes, Sparta, Delphi, Lemnos, Thebes, Mycenae, Aechaea, Troy. TRIBES, CULTURES AND PEOPLES COVERED: The Greeks and Hellenic race of the Aegean, including the Spartan, Trojan, Athenian, Peloponnese and Arcadian peoples. NAMES OF GODS: HERMES, This guy was an Olympian God belonging to the Greek religion. He was the son of Zeus and Pleiade Maia and also the second to the youngest Olympian God. He was the God of boundaries and transitions; very quick and cunning. He could move freely between the worlds of the mortal and the divine. He served as the messenger of the Gods and the conductor of the souls to the afterlife. APHRODITE, She is the Greek Goddess of beauty, love and pleasure. In the Roman religion, that would be the Goddess Venus. APOLLO, He was considered as one of the most important Gods in the Greek religion. He was recognized as the God of light and sun, truth and prophecy, healing, music, poetry and even plague. ATHENA, She is also referred to as Pallas Athena. She is the Goddess of wisdom, courage, civilization, law, justice, mathematics, strength, strategy, arts and skill. Minerva is the Roman version of Athena and she possesses the same attributes. ARES, This guy is the Greek God of War. He represents the violent aspect of war which is almost the exact opposite of Athena. She is all about strategy and this

guy is all about the physical aspect of war. He was considered very dangerous, overwhelming, insatiable and destructive. HERA, She happens to be one of the three sisters of Zeus and also his wife. She was the Goddess of women and marriage. HESTIA, She is the Goddess of hearth and architecture. She is the daughter of Cronus and Rhea and also a sibling to Hera. HADES, He was the God of the underworld in the Greek religion. He was the oldest male child of Cronus and Rhea. POSEIDON, Poseidon is one of the Twelve Olympians. He is referred to as the God of Sea and that is exactly where he resided. He is also referred to as the EarthShaker because he was mostly associated with causing earthquakes. ZEUS, He is by far my most favorite God in the Greek Mythology and undeniably powerful. He is the father of Gods and men. He is the supreme ruler of Mount Olympus and Olympia.
