'&(ective
Objective of this lab is to learn the Virtuoso tool as well learn the flow of the Full Custom IC design c cle. !ou will finish the lab b running "RC# $V% and &arasitic '(traction on the various designs. In the )rocess ou will create various com)onents li*e inverter# differential am)lifier# o)erational am)lifier# R+2R based ",C and -i(ed signal design of %,R based ,"C# but we won.t be designing ever cell# as the time will not be sufficient# instead we will be using some read made cells in the )rocess. !ou will start the lab b creating a librar called /myDesi n%i&0 and ou will attach the librar to a technolog librar called / pd)18*0. ,ttaching a technolog librar will ensure that ou can do front to bac* design. !ou will create a new cell called /Inverter0 with schematic view and hence build the inverter schematic b instantiating various com)onents. Once inverter schematic is done# s mbol for /Inverter0 is generated. 1ow ou will create a new cell view called /Inverter+Test0# where ou will instantiate /Inverter0 s mbol. 2his circuit is verified b doing various simulations using s)ectre. In the )rocess# ou will learn to use s)ectre# waveform window o)tions# waveform calculator# etc... !ou will learn the $a out 'ditor basics b concentrating on designing an /Inverter0 through automatic la out generation. 2hen ou will go ahead with com)leting the other la outs. ,fter that# ou will run "RC# $V% chec*s on the la out# '(tract )arasitics and bac*+annotate them to the simulation environment. ,fter com)leting the )arasitic bac*+ annotation flow# design is read for generating 3"%II.
