HEPS ENERGY LLC: Generator Summary !

! ! Intro! ! !

"

All of the following information gathered from U.S. Patent 7,956,486 B2 Inventor: Abel Echemendia!

! HEPS Energy is a renewable energy company boasting a variety of patented windmill technology that promises to capture market share in low wind and offshore environments with an unmatched efciency. ! Stator built in sections allowing output to match current wind speed! Cut-In speed of only 1 m/s, when all stators are disengaged! Cut-Out speed of over 40 m/s ! Highest power output of any turbine, up to 20 MW when all stators are engaged!

! The Company! !

! Based out of West Palm Beach in South Florida, HEPS Energy has been privately owned and managed by its founder Abel D. Echemendia, as well as his two sons Abel J. Echemendia Jr. and Daniel S. Echemendia. Having spent the last 8 years working together on everything from research and design, to patent and grant applications, it is safe to say that this widely varied team is well versed in the eld of renewable energy."

! Abel Echemendia Jr. is a graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University earning his degree in Management and Economics. He has also studied at Audencia Ecole de Management in Nantes, France, studying European management, economics, and marketing. Abel Jr. is currently in charge of business operations, technology and computer systems, as well as customer relations." ! !

! Daniel S. Echemendia is a graduate of the University of Florida, having studied economics. Daniel is in charge of company nances and accounting as well as other business operations. Daniel plays a key role in product development and testing."

! Abel Echemendia Sr. is the inventor and founder of HEPS ENERGY LLC. He is currently in charge of prototype construction and testing. Building of prototypes will be labor intensive and require Abel Sr.s 30+ years of experience and knowledge of construction and prototype development/testing. More specically, projects utilizing wood, berglass and concrete.!

! Partnership! !

! Having previously been partnered with the University of Florida's GatorNest team, this company had the privilege of being personally selected to work with both university professors as well as graduate level students on aspects of engineering, as well as business development. Still maintaining a connection with the University of Florida will allow HEPS Energy to have access to the Wind Speed Testing facility at a decreased cost for future testing.!

! Currently HEPS ENERGY is partnered with Florida Atlantic University in pursuing a Department of Energy research and development grant for a patent pending monopole tower and foundation system. HEPS ENERGY applied for this patent recently and is in the beginning stages of product testing. FAU, along with HEPS ENERGY, are condent that this new design will greatly increase tower performance while simultaneously decreasing cost.!

Product and Service!

! Having previously been partnered with the University of Floridas GatorNest team, HEPS had been advised to focus on the development of its promising windmill technology. The patented HEPS Generator is capable of having the stator built in sections so that they can be engaged and disengaged on command. This process will be accomplished by the use of dual action actuators engaging and disengaging the separate stators as wind speed changes. When wind is stopped all sections will be disengaged allowing for a free spinning shaft. As wind speed increases sections become engaged to produce power. The faster the wind blows, the more stators are engaged and power output continues to increase in tandem. !

! Funding Requirements! ! !

! It is the companies intentions to pursue SBIR funding in conjunction with a state university or research center. The funding is broken down into two phases, feasibility analysis and prototype development. Phase 1 will include research and development for the construction of a prototype HEPS Generator. Phase 2 will consist of a prototype HEPS Generator being constructed and tested. !

Generator Funding - Phase 1 - R & D / Feasibility Analysis HEPS University Total Cost $100,500 $49,500 $150,000

Generator Funding - Phase 2 - Prototype Development Total Cost $750,000
