ENGLISH LANGUAGE ASSISTANT in primary and secondary schools in Spain 25 hours/week, from October to June, 9 months Study grant: All inclusive + 150 /month Vacations according to the Spanish school calendar

Under the guidance and coordination of a school teacher (English teacher), the language assistants help the teacher in his/her program, support oral exercises and share with students aspects of their culture.

Tasks you will be carrying out

-Provide conversation practice. -Assist the teacher in the classroom and help in the language department. -Teach the students about the traditions and customs of your country and also share experiences for discussions in English language. -Provide native knowledge of phonemic pronunciation of English. -Help in other subjects apart from English such as science, art and sports. -You may be invited to participate in extra-curricular activities such as cultural visits, theatre plays or sports events.

Knowledge, skills and competences you are expected to acquire

-Learn how to be in a teaching environment coordinating with the English teachers and

learning aspects of teaching languages to students. -Learn how to communicate key concepts of the English language to students, such as phonemic rules and idiomatic phrases. -Learn how to prepare lesson tasks and provide new and interesting materials for the teachers which aim is to improve the oral skills of the students.

-You will take away the experience of teaching English as a foreign language to students in an academic environment.
-You will also acquire knowledge of the Spanish culture and improve your communication skills in Spanish and in a working environment.

Our organization will

-welcome you at the airport; -provide home-stay accommodation, full board, in a private room, so that you have your own space and privacy at home; -provide free transport from home to school and from school to home; -provide a guidance tutor, to look after your welfare during your stay and to help you with your integration in the host environment and monitor your training progress; -provide you with an induction programme at the start of the placement; -provide you with a guide for participants, with information on how the Spanish educational system works, and on practical matters to deal with the host families to build trust and to establish a good convivence and to facilitate understanding of Spanish culture; -provide you with free online Spanish lessons with the necessary books and materials to follow the course; NO need to speak any Spanish -provide a certificate at the end of your internship; -arrange an accident and a civil liability insurance to give you coverage during your internship. -provide participants with a study grant all inclusive + 150EUR/month. -No cost involved
