Pop Art
The similarities and differences between the both
By: Darya Naumova 8CC
Who is Dada?
Dada is a 20th century art style, originated from Switzerland in 1916. It is quite similar to Pop Art in some way. Dada rejected reason and logic, prizing nonsense, rules and intuition It was began by a large group of famous artists.
Dada usually involves art like: visual arts, literature, poetry, art manifestoes, art theory, theatre, and graphic design.
Dada
Pop Art
Similarity
They both used black and white colors. Even though Andy Warhol used bright colors on the left of his art. But Andy still used black and white colors to show the grief after the death of Marlyn Monroe
Difference
They were both taken at a completely different time, which affect the style they used. Dada had art which didnt obey the rules, because back in the 1900s people didnt use objects or statues as art. Lastly, Andy Warhol has really bright and colorful colors in his painting, while Dada doesnt.

Similarity
I think that one of the main similarities in between two arts (which came into my head first), is the fact that they both use more than one image. You can see that in Jasper Johns Art, he used the same image but multiple times. Just like with Dadas, he used images which looked like each other.
Difference
I think that one of the main differences in the two arts, is that they both have a different way of laying out the images: You can see that in the Three flags image, it is only three pictures underneath each other. But if you look at Dadas image, you see that they made it look like a collage of various pictures and words.

Pop Art
Similarity
To be honest, I dont really find a very big similarity in the two. I think that they actually look completely different from each other.
Difference
I think that the difference in the two paintings, is that they are a totally different style. In the pop art one, they used really bold lines. But in the Dada image, they used irregular lines which were sometimes bold and sometimes thin. Also, on the right painting, there is an actual image drawn. But on the one by Dada, it was just words.
