Essential Functions
The Asset Backed Securities (ABS) group at Fitch Ratings is seeking an entry-level performance analyst who would be a key contributor to the department. Primary sector coverage includes various commercial/consumer assets such as equipment lease/loan, timeshare loans, franchise loans, and auto loan ABS. Responsibilities: Provide support to more senior analysts on transaction performance reviews for a variety of asse t-backed securities Gather and analyze the latest industry, regulatory, and economic information Develop an understanding of legal and accounting issues affecting a security Run computer models and perform spreadsheet analysis to evaluate credit risk and cash flow coverage Present transaction reviews and analysis at rating committees Assist with drafting rating affirmations or other rating actions Assist with writing research reports and press releases Ensure that information displayed on Fitch's web site for transactions reviewed is correct and up to date Additional projects as assigned Requirements: Bachelors degree 0-2 years of relevant experience within the financial services industry and Bloomberg experience a plus Strong quantitative and analytical skills Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently as well as with a team Ability to quickly respond to changing needs of the organization
