INTRO
The time has come. The intention is for new Giant Slalom geometries to slow down our racers and ensure that slopes are safer as a result. But who does this new ski ruling affect? First and foremost, this new ruling is of concern only to the top level in racing: World Cup and Europa Cup. FIS races, masters or other youth sectors are currently not affected. We have also driven forward our latest developments in accordance with these racing groups. We can provide individual skis to cater for all requirements that comply with the ruling(s) for the respective races, An intensive development phase and extensive tests show us that we will once again be leading the way in the equipment sector in the upcoming season, too.
You will nd all the information regarding the latest equipment on our racing database again from autumn 2012. RACE CODE gives you access to exclusive information on whats happening in racing. Fischer uploads this information in line with its ever present values: top quality through innovation and technology. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who decides in favour of our racing products. You are in good and prominent company, together with numerous World Champions and World Cup winners. Let me close by drawing your attention to the importance of safety in racing. It is for this reason that you will now also nd back protectors in our range. We aim to minimise the risks in skiing while making it far more enjoyable for you at the same time. I wish you every success and a great deal of pleasure with our 12l13 racing line.
These changes in the ski sector, however, did not mean we had to neglect a second, very important step by any means the next steps for our VACUUM FIT models. The unique ski boot technology is now also available for children. It has already been in use for two seasons now and the requirements here are clear: our top athletes accept only the nest quality and the best features. And we can now offer these best features to young talents as well.
AUSTRIA I SWITZERLAND
INTERNATIONAL RACING CAMP ERICH STURM The International Fischer Racing Camp was founded in cooperation with the racing school run by Erich Sturm, himself an ex-racer and Olympic coach of the Austrian national team. Custom racing weeks in Hintertux, Austria, are offered in autumn for children, junior and adult skiers. Erich Sturm has put together various training programmes for the Fischer Racing Camp which can be adapted to suit each individual course participant. As on previous occasions, Michael von Grnigen of Switzerland, twice World Champion and four-times overall winner of the World Cup in Giant Slalom, will be assisting as guest coach. At the training centre in Hintertux you can train in the best conditions on a slope that is cordoned off especially for you.
MICHAEL VON GRNIGEN RACE SKI CAMP 2012 Enjoy skiing with a passion for racing - this is exactly the message Michael von Grnigen has for children aged between nine and fourteen at the Fischer Junior Race Camp in Switzerland. And it would be hard to nd anyone more qualied to do so than the former Giant Slalom champion, who himself is the father of three sons (all enthusiastic skiers). Michael von Grnigen on the idea behind the Race Camp: Ive made a point of concentrating on children who are at an age where they are normally not organised in squads that have their own camps. I aim more to show them how things will be later on when they make it into a team and give them an insight into the daily routine of training and competition so they are motivated to carry on. This is only possible if you show them the beauty of skiing and competition and if they enjoy it all. Which is why we dont only shoot through gates at our camp we also take some time for the halfpipe and skiercross.

Special requirements call for special equipment. The Fischer racing set-up competes in the top league: the RACE CODE marking represents the original technology from the World Cup developed in collaboration with the ski stars. An online platform which is accessible only to RACE CODE skiers provides valuable information on equipment and
handling straight from the specialists in the World Cup. RACE CODE skiers also get a glimpse of the stars behind the scenes. RACE CODE skis are available as Medium and Stiff models for a very special set-up in line with the skier and his or her style. Because at Fischer, every skier has a right to benefit from the pro feeling.
RACE CODE card & sticker The corresponding individual RACE CODE which allows you to access our racing database on the web is shown on the card and sticker. The card or sticker comes with the race skis!
Worldcup Tuning Edge strength, material and angle correspond to World Cup standards. Special base grinding nish and structur (S 12) create a completely plane base surface with extremely good gliding properties.

2. Filing the edges: the idea edge angle for the sides of racing skis is 86 87 for perfect edge grip. Fischer racing skis have an edge angle of 0.3 (Slalom and Giant Slalom) and 1.0 1.3 (Super G and Downhill) when they leave the company. Filing jigs can be obtained in specialist sports shops. Step 1 rough le, step 2 ne nish using diamond le.
3. Iron on wax: The temperature needs to be set to between 110 and 130C. The waxing iron is drawn across the base at a constant speed in the skiing direction. Note: Do not iron backwards and forwards or concentrate on one spot because there is a risk of the base overheating. 4. Allow the ski to cool for 5 to 10 minutes before removing excess wax. Use a sharp perspex edge to remove the wax by applying constant, gentle pressure in the direction of skiing.
PREPARATION - WAXING 1. Clean the base: Dirt, dust and wax remnants can be removed using a cleaning solvent obtainable from specialist sports shops. Important: Before moving on to the next steps, dry the ski well (leave it outside for at least 15 minutes). An alternative is hot waxing (iron on wax and immediately scrape off soft gliding wax).
5. Brush the running surface with a nylon and/or combibrush in the direction of skiing. For the best possible gliding results, the structure of the base must be brushed thoroughly to remove any residual wax.
