[How to]Fix and Retrieve Images form an error sdcard (USBC error) 2 days ago I went to another cities and had some fun with my friend. It was raining very hard and we transferred our photos from the sdcard to PC. Suddenly the power went off and we were shocked. Our datas were definitely corrupted. After several hours, yes, the data were corrupted. We can still see the DCIM and VIDEO folder but inside DCIM, the images were converted to unknown 3 files and one of them was 'USBC' the unreadable characters are shaped like a gun.. I didn't bring my laptop to try open it from mac. So we were using windows. This is how we fix it : 1. Open run (windows+R) 2. Open command prompt (type : cmd) 3. On the open box type -> chkdsk (space) [the drive]: (space) /f example (your sdcard is on drive K:) -> chkdsk k: /f 4. It will say that it's being repaired , after that 5. Copy all files inside DCIM folder to your PC you will find many files with FILE00XXX.CHK format. If your images are all JPEG, you can just change the .CHK file type into .JPG But if you have the RAW file, it will be hard, because you don't know which one is the JPG/RAW file. So you need to download this : http://www.ericphelps.com/uncheck/unchk3.zip It will automatically change the files into JPGs and you change another .CHK files that haven't changed by the program into your RAW file format (Olympus = .ORF , etc) Example : There are 4 .CHK files : FILE0001.CHK FILE0002.CHK

FILE0003.CHK FILE0004.CHK if the result = FILE0001.CHK FILE0001.JPG FILE0002.CHK FILE0003.CHK FILE0003.JPG FILE0004.CHK then the file002 and file004 is RAW Hope this helps and don't be afraid when you have this problem! On the open box type -> chkdsk (space) [the drive]: (space) /f example (your sdcard is on drive K:) -> chkdsk k: /f 4. It will say that it's being repaired , after that I got 5. Convert lost chains to files ? 6. I selected Y and saw 1133364 KB in 470 recovered files. windows had made corrections to the file system. 16,178,176kb total disk files 160KB in 5 folders 11,572,960kb in 481 files 4,605,024kb are available 32,768 bytes in each allocation unit. 505,568 total allocation units on disk 143,907 allocation units available on disk After that I am not seeing any of repaired files in my sdcard and even the USBC file got deleted

Can some one pls let me know if I lost all those picture that I had in the disk or there is any other way to get those picture back

try to open your sdcard via 7zip file manager, then copy all folders yo your pc.
