REPORT OF TRAINING PROGRAM IN CATHAY GENERAL HOSPITAL

Full name: NGUYEN TIEN MANH Work place: General surgery, 198 Hospital, Ha Noi capital, Viet Nam. Duration: 3 months (from July 15th to October 15th 2013) First of all, I would like to greatly appreciate and want to thank the Leadership of Cathay General Hospital, Department of Education, Department of Chest / Cardiovascular surgery, Operation room. After my course at your Hospital, I have got some new interesting knowledge about medicine. During my course, I have learned in the two departments of hospitals including thoracic surgery and cardiac surgery. At Thoracic Surgery Department I followed Dr Jung Sen Liu and received some new knowledges: 1. Every moning Wednesday, I attended briefings and was listened interesting case studies from experienced doctors . 2. I learned how to diagnose of lung cancer, and how to manage lung cancer postoperation. 3. Every morning Wednesday, I visited postoperative patients with Dr Liu and medical doctors. Throughout these discussions, I was ability to find out thoracic disease specially lung cancer on CT- scanner images. 4. I watched lobar resection procedure with robotic Da vinci. At Cardiovascular Surgery Department 1. I have seen valve replacement procedure, CABG surgery, aortic surgery, arch replacement, aortic aneurysms. Beside improve my medical knowledge, I have also received alot of thing. Firstly, my impression is professional style in Cathay hospital. Cathay hospital have a scientific and modern network to manage patient information and prescription

medication (EHR: Electronic Health Record). The Network connect all of department and it very useful for doctor to get patient information and prevent prescription error. I also can see mention in work of doctors, nurses, in your hospital is very well. All the best for patient! A cheeryful and friendly attitude when they contact with patient and patients family. In three months Ive stayed in Taiwan, I have chance to discover your country. How nice is it! Your country is green country with many natural environment. The street is clean and traffic system is modern and excellent. I can ease to go to many sightseeing for visiting. Taiwanese person is polite and friendly. Your country is peaceful. Fortunately, I have got an opportunity to study in Taiwan and has been instructed by Dr Liu (Chest Surgery), Dr Hou ( Cardiovascular Surgery ) and some another of doctors in Cathay General Hospital. Finally, I would like to thank for your help and wish all the best things come to you, your family and your department! I also hope to meet you again in Viet Nam recently day!
