Executive director of the TOEFL Program at ETS and the creative director of the ETS LanguEdge Courseware English Language Teaching product line. Executive director of international product development at Kaplan, Inc., and the principal architect and developer of Kaplans Access America language training program. A sociolinguist and international and comparative educator. Taught in, recruited for, directed, and developed materials for adult education, corporate and campus-based English language training programs in CA, NY and New Jersey, at the University of California at Irvine, UCLA, the California State University system, the Los Angeles Community Adult Schools, and ETS. Dean / Director of the International Office at Manhattanville College. Held teaching, training, and curriculum development positions in Spain, France, England, Iran and Saudi Arabia, and did extensive EFL teacher training in Poland. Conducts intercultural communication and diversity training workshops and cultural intelligence analysis for the U. S. government and for several major corporations in the USA and abroad, including AIFS, IBM-Paris, Rockwell International, Xerox, Inc., the Ralph M. Parsons Corporation, Credit Suisse Bank, the Bechtel Group, Fluor-Daniels, Inc., PepsiCo, the Nestle Group, Hitachi America and the international petroleum industry. Develops comprehensive curriculum for workplace training in language and literacy. Executive Director EL Civics Program | ESL Communication | Curriculum Development at International Institute of New Jersey July 2003 - August 2006 (3 years 2 months) Responsible for creation and oversight of Adult Education Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education, a Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Title II Program for refugees and asylum seekers. Executive Director TOEFL (Tests of English as a Foreign Language) Exams at Educational Testing Service August 2000 - August 2003 (3 years 1 month) Responsible for the world-wide roll-out of the new TOEFL iBT (Internet-Based) exam and oversight of $140 million TOEFL revenue stream for ETS. Creative director of the ETS LanguEdge Courseware English Language Teaching product line. Principal spokesperson internationally for ETS and TOEFL. Responsible for interfacing with the general public, university admissions officers, US-based and international teachers of academic ESL and EFL, TOEFL Prep publishers and language training schools for the smooth implementaion of the TOEFL iBT and related products. Executive Director International Product Development at Kaplan June 1994 - August 2000 (6 years 3 months) Executive director of international product development at Kaplan, Inc., and the principal architect and developer of Kaplans Access America language training program. Responsible for the development of course materials used in all Kaplan centers where ESL and TOEFL was taught to international students wishing to enter US universities for degree study. Responsible for ESL TOEFL teacher training at Kaplan centers in the USA and internationally. Opened Kaplan centers in Japan and Poland.
