Exercise 1

Question1: Discuss two reasons why it is good to study computer ethics? Answer: according to the current age computer involvement in our society is very high. We are totally dependent on the computer in our daily life. So in certain situation it may harm our life so it is good to study computer ethics that those who operate the computer can know about the computer ethics can take right decision. The computer technology is changing with very rapid change so if we didnt study along computer ethics then we didnt cope with it and it will create big problems in society for example: computer abuse, hacking etc. Question2: Walter Maner believes that computer ethics education should not be given purely as a remedial moral education. Do you agree? Discuss. Answer: Yes I agree that computer ethics education should not be given purely as a remedial moral education because computer involvement in the society creates certain issues which we cannot compare with other field or areas. As computer is a unique field and a unique knowledge which is totally different from all other fields therefore it need its own moral codes to protect and survive in society. Exercise 2

Question1: How do morality and law relate to each other? Answer: As laws & morality are the set of rules to protect and regulate the human society. Moral codes are made by the people of the society living in it in a certain place based on the experience from a period of time. While laws are made by the assemblies or authorized people for the society but these rules are placed while keeping in mind the customs of the society or we assume that the rules are placed related to the moral conducts of the society. Question2: What is moral relativism? Answer: It means that the morality is relative to the individuals and to the culture. Because we cannot say that certain act is good at all. This act may be harm for the other society. It will good for one person here but may be harmful or bad for rest of the society. Question3: What is connection between law and art?

Answer: On many situation laws strives forcefully to create something desirable without following a concrete and exact process of or formula that can be reproduced.

Question4: Why reasoning is so important in morality? Answer: every human being had to take decisions in our daily life without reasoning we cannot find the right outcome of the act. When we are doing some act we make reasoning that what should be the impact of this which I am going to select. Without reasoning we may select an option that is harmful to other and even sometime for ourselves in a society. Question19: Can there be a common morality? Why or why not? Answer: there should not be a common morality because morality depends on the time and place. As morality is the set of rules and these rules change with passage of time as the change in the society . it also different from place to place an act doing in one place will be morally right while it may be wrong or bad in another place. Every culture has its own rules and regulation so it changes with time and place. Question20: Is common morality possible in cyberspace? Answer: Yes it is possible to have common morality in cyberspace because there are certain issues which are common to all of the society for example hacking is one of the problem for all of the human which is an immoral act so it must be common for all of the humanity similarly there are issues that can affect the whole humanity so there must be some common morality that can protect the whole world.
