NO. Series of 2013 A RESOLUTION RESPECTFULLY AND EARNESTLY REQUESTING HONORABLE PIA S. CAYETANO, SENATOR, REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES, TO ALLOCATE THE AMOUNT OF FIVE MILLION PESOS (5,000,000.00) FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF BAKIGEN BRIDGE IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF BOLINEY, PROVINCE OF ABRA Sponsored by: Committee on Public Works, Infrastructure and Public Utilities Hon. Timmangen WHEREAS, every Local Government Unit is tasked with the duty of providing its constituents infrastructure facilities intended primarily to service the needs of its residents; which are funded out of municipal funds, including but not limited to, municipal roads and bridges; WHEREAS, one of the constant problems of this Municipality is the inaccessibility of five (5) of its eight (8) barangays namely; Barangays Dao-angan, Kilong-olao, Amti, Danac East and Danac West to any mode of transportation during the rainy season, caused by the rise in the water level of the Ikmin River; WHEREAS, the Municipal Government of Boliney, Abra plans to address the inaccessibility of the aforesaid barangays by constructing a bridge crossing the Ikmin River at Sitio Bakigen, Barangay Poblacion, Boliney, Abra in order to guarantee accessibility of said barangays all year round; WHEREAS, the construction of Bakigen bridge will provide the vital linkage between Barangay Poblacion and the rest of the Barangays in the eastern portion of the municipality, that will hasten economic growth and ensure efficient delivery of basic services; in order to alleviate the socio-economic condition of the residents living in Barangay Dao-angan, Kilong-olao, Amti, Danac East and Danac West; WHEREAS, the construction of Bakigen bridge will provide a permanent and safer structure for the public especially to the residents of Barangay Dao-angan, Kilong-olao, Amti, Danac West and Danac East in bringing their goods or products to Barangay Poblacion, being the center of business and commerce in the municipality; WHEREAS, the construction of Bakigen bridge would not only provide expediency in the transit of goods and other farm produce from the other barangays but would remarkably lessen the cost of transportation of these commodities to the business zones not only within the municipality but to the rest of the province; WHEREAS, much to the desire of this local government unit to address the plight of our constituents to construct a bridge crossing the Ikmin river, our limited financial capability hinders the good intention; WHEREAS, there is a need to request for financial assistance from various government agencies and entities so that the said project may be realized; NOW THEREFORE, on motion of Hon. Generoso L. Baylon, with the unanimous accord of the members of the Sangguniang Bayan present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED , by the Sangguniang Bayan in session assembled, to RESPECTFULLY AND EARNESTLY REQUEST HONORABLE PIA S. CAYETANO, SENATOR, REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES, TO ALLOCATE THE AMOUNT OF FIVE MILLION PESOS (5,000,000.00) FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF BAKIGEN BRIDGE IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF BOLINEY, PROVINCE OF ABRA. RESOLVED FURTHER, to furnish copies of this resolution to Hon. Pia S. Cayetano, for her information and appropriate action.
