Dowsing Rod or L-Rod Instructions We all have the ability to access our intuitive capacities by using L-Rods.

Learning to use LRods is like learning to do any other skill. It requires time, determination, trust, balance, and persistent practice. Given these, your success is guaranteed. Every object, animate or inanimate, gives off energetic radiations, and our expanded senses can feel and measure them. The subconscious, intuitive, or super-conscious mind is the recipient of the information, which is ever present around us. The L-Rods are a communication device between the conscious and the subconscious mind. Therefore, it is a matter of establishing the language between these two parts of the mind. The subconscious mind takes all communications completely literal. It takes some time for the subconscious to understand what is expected of it and respond accurately. It is necessary to approach the L-rods with enthusiasm, optimism, and the confidence that you are able to do it. 1) The breath is very effective in bringing to balance the mental, emotional and physical body (see Micro Breath in Knowing Your Intuitive Mind by Dale Olson). For balance, breathe in deeply, and any thoughts about the outcome of your test or negative, critical thoughts can be released with intention by breathing them out through your mouth slowly. Breathe in through your nose, and release out through your mouth slowly until you feel emotionally and mentally balanced. 2) It takes some time getting use to holding and balancing the rods so that they don't swing wildly. Hold your rods with your hands comfortably around the handles, with your index fingers down about one-half inch from the top of the handle. For extra support and balance, bring your gripped hands together so that they are lightly touching and supporting each other. Your elbows are tucked against your waist for greater support. 3) To find the point of balance: start with your rods pointing slightly downward and bring them upward slowly to the point where the rods begin to open up or swing apart. Now, bring them down slowly to the point of balance. Again, the Micro Breath helps to maintain balance on all 1evels. Once you learn this point of balance from much practice, you will be able to find this reference point easily. It also helps to lock your rods by putting your thumbs on the top of the rods to prevent them from swinging until you bring them up to the balance point. Then release your thumbs from the tops of the rods. This helps to stabilize the rods before putting them into action. 4) The next step is to learn how to walk with them, softly, evenly, without jarring your rods. 5) In order to prevent lack of response, it helps to defocus your attention from the rods. Remain neutral or objective to the results, and continue to do the Micro Breath to offset any possible autosuggestion from the mental or logical mind. Focus the intention with your mind of that which you wish to test or find and establish the language between your conscious and unconscious mind. It helps to speak the commands out loud to your subconscious mind. Being precise, specific, positive and commanding with the communications to your subconscious mind. This is absolutely imperative for accurate answers or results.

For example, "Intuitive mind, indicate the direction North?" This can be indicated by one or both of your rods swinging to the North direction. Then check with a compass for accuracy. Repeat this exercise (or another test of an unknown variable for which you can find out the results with other means of measurement) a few times each day throughout the following seven days and notice the consistency in results. In finding water or electrical lines, it is not necessary to point downward or at the object. It is best to keep your rods balanced or parallel to the ground. Remember, it is your intuitive mind that is doing the measuring; not the rods, yet they are the indicators. In the beginning it is best to practice for short periods (less than 20 minutes). 6) If you have difficulty in making the rods move or in being consistent, then consider: Are you tired, forcing the situation, or in an imbalanced state? If so, give it a rest and approach it at another time. 7) Any thoughts about the possible answer, personal desires, feelings about the outcome, ego involvement or tendency to show off will influence the accuracy of your work. Keeping yourself objective and detached from the outcome is one of the keys to your success. 8) When you have completed your dowsing session, it is always helpful to give Thanks to your intuition and Infinite for being of service. It is highly recommended that you refer to the book Knowing Your Intuitive Mind for greater details on dowsing rod use and the many dynamic ways in which they can be used.
