Open House is a great place to learn about every aspect of attending Florida State College at Jacksonville and why this is the ideal place to learn. Come speak to representatives from a wide variety of our programs and get help with admissions, scholarships and nancial aid. If your goal is to graduate from a university, come and learn about how you can get a great foundation before you transfer as a junior with our Associate in Arts degree. Or, you can transfer into one of FSCJs bachelor degree programs, saving you thousands in tuition and fees! Need help lling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)? At College Goal Sunday, you can receive FREE expert assistance. In order to complete your FAFSA, parents and students should bring the following:

Social Security Number, drivers license or alien registration card (if you are not a U.S. citizen) 2013 IRS 1040 or latest tax return & W-2 statements* Federal Student Aid PIN
If you dont have these documents, you can bring last years tax returns and W-2 statements (parent and student) to estimate this years information. Everyone is welcome to come for free help in completing the FAFSA and to get answers to your nancial aid questions. For more information, visit collegegoalsunday.org.

Note, the more complete your answer, the more likely it is that you will be selected for a scholarship. Application for the 2014-15 school year opens February 17.

We encourage you to apply early for the many scholarships that are available to high school seniors. Our online application will allow you to apply for multiple scholarships at once. Each applicant will be required to answer the following questions: Why is a college education important? What are your career and educational goals? Is there anything impeding your goals? Why are you deserving of a scholarship and how would a scholarship assist you in attaining your goals? Applicants are also encouraged to provide information regarding: Work and volunteer experience Participation in student or civic organizations

Talent Grants
Do you excel in athletics? Maybe you thrive in ne arts? If so, you may qualify for a Florida State College at Jacksonville talent grant. Talent grants are awarded to select students based on a specic talent. Recipients are selected through an audition or other demonstration of talent. Course Placement
Effective November 2013 per State Board of Education Rule 6A-10.0315, if you entered the ninth grade in a Florida public school in 2003 or after, graduated from a Florida public high school with a standard Florida high school diploma, OR if you are a student who is serving as an active duty member of any branch of the U.S. Armed Services, you will not be required to take placement testing.

Postsecondary Readiness Test (PERT)


If you are required to take college entrance exams and you do not have eligible SAT, ACT or FCAT scores, you will be required to take the Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (PERT) for initial course placement.

Visit act.org to register. If you have taken the ACT within the last two years, you may submit scores that meet one or more of the following minimum scores: Test dates prior to Oct. 22, 2013: Reading 18, English 17, Mathematics 19 Test dates on or after Oct. 22, 2013: Reading 19, English 17, Mathematics 19

SAT

Visit sat.org to register. The minimum scores accepted on the SAT are 440 Math and 440 English.
The SAT test can be taken at Florida State Colleges Kent Campus.

123-150 Placement in college algebra or advanced mathematics

Tests of Adult Basic Education (TABE)


If you are interested in pursuing a workforce certicate program at FSCJ, you will need to take the TABE. To learn more about TABE requirements and scores, visit fscj.edu/tabe.
