Luke 11: You have never seen anything like seeing Jesus pray.

When Jesus prayed, things changed, the earth responded, They wanted to have the same results as Jesus got He prayed with such passion He prayed with such confidence He prayed with such simplicity and yet received such extraordinary results, hence they asked Him: Teach us how to pray The request is instructive: They say teach us to pray, They DO NOT say teach us to sing, They DO NOT say teach us to preach This suggests the primacy of PRAYER. Jesus once declared: My house shall be called a house of prayer not a house of preaching, yet we make preaching our focal point! He did not call it a house of singing, yet we will sing and sing and sing The disciples seemed to understand the primacy, importance and power of prayer, hence they asked Teach us to pray Jesus responds: When you pray say this Our Father To us this is not mind boggling, doesnt arrest our attention.but this is life changing. In their time, Jews related to God as transcendent, high and lifted up, so reverend, so holy that you did not say the name of God. They did even speak the name of God! (no vowelsand called it Adonai) You could not talk to God in an affectionate or intimate way, so Jesus brings a radical way of talking to God. Call him Father.the Aramaic word is Abba --the closest we can get is Daddy Not just any daddy coz we have been disappointed by our daddies (never there, promised to support you with your education but he was never there, promised to come for you but deserted you,..) But this is not the kind of daddy Jesus is talking aboutHe is Abba! Abba is a word is used by a young child who sees a father coming backAbba is the father who supplies all your needs, hes there watching over you while you sleep, comes thru for you He didnt just give birth to you but

he sticks around to see you grow up, wants to parent you, wants to instruct you thru life

Not just the creator, an absent landlord, who left us to fend for ourselves but He is a sustainer of our sanity, maintainer of our morality, keeper of our hair, hes the mind regulator, heart fixer . He is high and lifted up but he is God enough to come down and hug you when your hurt, pick u up when u are down..hes Abba We call it the Lords prayerit is actually the disciples prayer..for He is teaching them how to pray. THE WHY PART (v5-10) One room house At first glance it seems to teach us persistence in prayer (Dont give up in prayer). But this is not the primary lesson in this parable. Look closer. V7. We dont need to beg and plead, or intimidate God with our vocabulary as you are already in the house with Godyou already have access to everythingyou are not the stranger knocking from outside!! We are children not strangers Some think they cant get thru to God unless they pray these eloquent prayers..and you have heard them ..they use superfluous wordsO God who dwells btwn the cherubim and the seraphimas if Hes impressed by your words.. Prayer is like a child who hurts himself and runs to the father and can barely say the words but the Father understands the prayer ministry of tears and knows exactly what u need. Some say..i dont know how to praylet me tell u..Inhle he knows the word DADDY TATA..am proud of it. Coz I am in r/ship with him..i understand his moans and groans..i know what daddy means.is different from Tata Daddyyyy. Even though thats not my language I understand that .<><><> U might not pray perfectly, your grammar might not be right, you may not get the words right, but he understands your tears, He understands your cry if you can only cry ABBA If He knows what I need why should I ask Love loves to be told what it knows already! It wants to be asked for what it longs to give Thats my ABBA In your asking He purifies your request

It was hard to discern btwn what was good for you and what was bad for you.God said ask for the Holy Spirit!! For the Holy Spirit will tell the difference! Sometimes the bad and the good look the same! Without the Holy Spirit you can NOT tell Cheat and the deacon, prostitute and deaconess, just becoz he carries a big Bible or comes to Sabbath School very earlybut you might be going after the snake! Thinking its a fish Some job might look like your avenue to success YET its a trap to a spiritual downfallthe car you want might be your death trap; your new house might bring debt into your life; your wife to be may break your r/ship with your family; the elder you choose might bring apostasy in the church; the school you choose for your daughter may lead to an early pregnancy;

I have made mistakes but my Abba is a perfect parent U think you need more money but u need more mercy Property patience House a dose of more holiness Trust your daddy like a good child It is not friendship with God but it is kinship (its permanent) He gave us power to be called sons and daughters - Thru Jesus Romans 8v 14-16 But the only way to the father is thru the Son John 14v6 You need to accept the son Story U cannot come by yourself-but in Jesus name Whatever He gets, you get Greater things All power is given to meyou have it too.CALL HIM ABBA
