Headmasters Corner
Thank you to everyone who came to the Burns Night. It was a very successful evening and enjoyed by all. I look forward to seeing you all again at the next one. Congratulations to all our children who took part in sports fixtures yesterday. All of them showed excellent all-round sportsmanship. A particular mention must go to the U13 Boys Soccer team who won their fixture for the first time in a year. Keep it up!

Good Intention & Politeness Award

Congratulations to the following children who have been nominated for the Good Intention and Politeness Award: Alvaro Daguerre, Otto Cullis, Lou Saelens, Eva Lewis, Eva Carter, Archie West, Harry Mather and Alex Gooch. The award for the first quarter goes to Imogen Rees for always being positive and incredibly helpful. Well done, Imogen!

Milkshake Monday Morning

Year 7 had their Milkshake Monday Morning this week and they enjoyed their banana milkshakes with chocolate biscuits whilst listening to Ms Case reading the introductions to some of our great books from the Young Adult section of our library. Their appetites whetted in more ways than one, Year 7 then settled down to read a few choices of their own from the shelves. Thank you to the kitchen staff for the lovely milkshake and Mrs Baglin for helping.

Fun Football Days

Neil Jenkins will again be running two fun football days on Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th February for 4-8 year olds from 9.00 am to 3.30 pm. If you would like to book your child in for the course please visit www.soglo.org.uk.

Friday Night is Movie Night!

Come and join us in the boarding house for Movie Night every Friday. You can suggest your favourite film by filling in a suggestion form and putting it in the Movie Night box outside the office. Mr & Mrs Glanville will choose a film from the box to be shown in the Lower Common Room with bean bags, popcorn and sweets. We look forward to seeing you on Fridays! This is open to Years 3-8 only as the children must board if attending.

Year 7 Geography Enquiry at the Mall, Cribbs Causeway

Congratulations to Year 7 who interviewed 436 shoppers at the Mall, Cribbs Causeway on Friday 24th January. The children were complimented by the customers on their politeness, smart uniform and maturity during their fifty five minute survey. They focused on two questions: (1) What was your main reason for coming to the Mall as opposed to using another shopping centre? (2) Where did you travel from to get to the Mall today? The variety of shops was cited as the main reason quoted (106/436) by the customers using the Mall. The majority of the interviewees came from the Bristol area (193/436), followed by South Gloucestershire (79/436). The pupils performed impressively and were a credit to Tockington. We look forward to seeing the completed enquiries. Congratulations, Year 7. Pie charts are by Henry Allan-Jones.
