================================================================== 1. Introduction ================================================================== Thank you very much for purchasing ABSYNTH 4! This document provides information to help you use ABSYNTH 4. It deals with last-minute additions, compatibility issues and possible problem causes. ================================================================== 2. What's New? ================================================================== ABSYNTH will run in Demo Mode until it is activated, which can be done conveniently via the Service Center. If you have already activated your copy of ABSYNTH you don't have to do this again. For more information read the WELCOME.PDF file and the Service Center's documentation installed with this update. ABSYNTH 4.0.1 features a new surround effect part within its Effects Page as well as a new audio recorder. Refer to the detailed manual addendum installed with this update for more information. ABSYNTH 4.0.1 contains all ABSYNTH SOUNDS Vol. 1 as KoreSounds. An extended Universal Library is included in this update. Please check out the new function enabling you to create subfolders within the universal library structure. The Envelope Page can now be resized. Drag the lower left corner of the Envelope window. Multiple sample paths can be set within the Options dialog. Several minor improvements and fixes are included. Absynth 3 KSDs now load with correct automation IDs in ABSYNTH 4.0.1. ================================================================== 3. Important Notes ==================================================================

On first startup, ABSYNTH 4 will scan the installed factory sounds. This might take a minute. A pop up window appears informing you that ABSYNTH 4 has started the database build. Generally, the database always scans in background. If you move folders manually in your content directory or delete files in the finder/explorer it will take some time until ABSYNTH 4 recognizes these changes in the database. ABSYNTH 4 Demo mode in KORE: ABSYNTH 4 single and multi sounds can be loaded from your KORE browser in demo mode. Saving sounds in KORE is not possible as long as ABSYNTH 4 is not authorized. Saving Single sounds in KORE will bring up an error message. You can save a Multisound without getting an error message, but ABSYNTH 4 will return to the default preset after reloading the multisound. Known Limitations and Issues ================================================================== Touching a control on the GUI in some hosts (Live, Cubase SX 3) can remove the keyboard focus from the host application. Switching back and forth between the application and the host will retrieve the key commands. Cubase 4 might crash in certain situations when the host expects a stereo output of the plug in and ABSYNTH 4 delivers the 6 mono surround channels. Please use the "Absynth4 Stereo" VST loader.

Virtual knob based automation in DP 5.1 is not working yet. There might be redraw errors in Ableton Live 5.2.1 when using more than one instance per song. We are in contact with Ableton and future versions of Live will address this issue. ================================================================== 5.
