Johannes Kepler was one of the greatest astronomers the world had ever seen.

In addition to that, kepler also made important advances in calculus and geometry. He was also a very religious person, crediting God for every discovery he made. He intended to become a church official, but was drawn into the fields of astronomy and science. Though he was a genius scientist and astronomer, many people at the time did not demand obs for his field in science. !t the end, he only made enough to support himself and his family. Though he had not lived in wealth, Kelpler will always remain as an important scientist in the field of astronomy. He also worked along side other scientists such as Tycho "rahe.

Kepler made important discoveries that changes the world#s thinking about the way planets move. He came up with three laws to e$plain the true movements of the planets. His first law, %The orbit of a planet about the sun is an ellipse with the sun#s center of mass at one focus.% The first law is sometimes referred to as the law of ellipse and e$plains that planets orbit the sun in an elliptical path. The second law is sometimes referred to as the law of e&ual areas. This law describes the speed at which any given planet will move while orbiting the sun. The speed of the planets that move in space is always changing. "ut speed and area e&ual out as the speed and distance changes as it orbits in an elliptical path. 'o, the further the planet is the slower it orbits. The closer it is, the faster it orbits. His last law compares planets orbital period and radius. This law compares motions of other planets.

Kepler impacted us greatly, now and then. He affected how Isaac (ewton#s physics and astronomy work and with that, provided us with more knowledge in different fields of science. Kepler#s discovery of elliptical orbits let us know that planets do not go around in a perfect circle. He also contradicted )opernicus# idea of a circular orbit. !lso, he gave us important information of planetary motion, and are all proven accurate. This gives scientists and astronomers more detail about the planets and are able to research according to his discoveries. Through all his hard work, we now have more knowledge about our solar system.
