System Requirements
Supported Operating System: Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 (English) with administrative rights, and the locale set to English.

Note: The instructions in this manual assume that you have Windows Server 2003. o To set the locale to English, open Regional and Language Options in Control Panel, click the Regional Options tab, and then select English in the Standards and Formats area. Ensure that the decimal separator is a period (.) and not a comma (,).

Minimum of 2 GB of RAM

Prerequisite Software
Microsoft SQL Server (2005 or higher) Windows Installer 3.1 V.2 or higher Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) and Microsoft ASP.NET: This software is part of the Windows Server installation. Microsoft Excel (2007 or higher): Only required for the Web Reporting and Automation Agent components. MapInfo MapXtreme 2008 v7.0: Only required for Web Reporting Mapping component.

To install MapInfo MapXtreme


1. Install the MapXtreme 2008 Runtime Environment. a b On the MapXtreme 2008 CD, click Install. Click Deployment Installation, click Install Runtime Environment, and then follow the instructions.

2. Save the runtime license in the following location: %ProgramFiles%\Common Files\MapInfo\MapXtreme\7.0

Configuring the Server Firewall


You need to open the following ports in your firewall: IIS - TCP port 80 on the machine where NQWeb is installed (443 for HTTPS) MS SQL - TCP port 1433 on the machine where the SQL server is installed

Installing NQWeb

Important: The steps in this chapter assume that you will install NQWeb on the same computer as the SQL Server. You need administrator rights to install the software.

To install NQWeb
1. Prepare the installation. a b Log on to the server as administrator. If you want to install the Web Reporting or the Automation Agent NQWeb module, you need to create a Windows user and add him to the Administrators group.

2. Start the installation. 3. On the Custom Setup page, specify the settings for your installation. a Click a Web site in the Install under Web Site list, and then type the name of the installation folder in the Under directory box.

Important: To install NQWeb in the root folder, leave the Under directory box empty. If you want to add a Web site to the list, you need to stop the installer, manually create the site with the Internet Information Services Manager, and then restart the installation. For more information, see the Windows Server 2008 online help.

In the list of features, click the components that you want to install, and then click Next.

4. Specify the general NQWeb application settings. a On the General tab of the Application Settings page, specify the database connection settings.

Note: The installer creates all databases if they do not exist.

On the Automation Agent tab, specify the Email settings for the Automation Agent. You can configure the agent to send a success or failure Email after each task.

In the SMTP server box of the E-mail settings area, type the name of the SMTP server. In the From address box, type the return address for the Email, for example, noreply@example.com. In the Admin email address, type the Email address of the administrator for the Automation Agent.

On the System Inspector tab, specify the connection settings to the Test Manager database.

Important: You need to enter the connection information for an existing NQView database. The installer does not create the database. d On the Web Reporting tab, specify the settings for the NQWeb Mapping component.

Note: This tab is not available if you did not select the Mapping component on the Custom Setup page. If you want to use a custom MapXtreme workspace file, click the browse button (...) in the Mapping area, locate the file, and then click Open. To use the default low-resolution world map workspace, select Use default workspace provided with this setup.

5. On the NQWeb user account tab, enter the login information for a user with Administrator access. Important: On Windows Server 2008 you must specify the log in information of the user that you created in step 1.b on page 2. To verify the login information, click Test.

6. Install NQWeb. a In the Application Settings window, click OK. An error message opens if the setup wizard detects an error in the parameters that you set in the Application Settings window. Click OK in the error message window, correct the error, and then click OK in the Application Settings window. b On the Ready to Install page, click Install.

NQWeb Login Information

This chapter describes the components of the NQWeb login.

Roles
NQWeb uses the following predefined roles to control user access. You cannot change the names of these roles. AutomationAgentSuperUsers UserManagementAdmin SystemInspectorSuperUsers WebReportingAdministrators WebReportingSuperUsers WebReportingMapUsers WebReportingReportUsers WebReportingDefaultUsers To change the role permissions for the WebReporting application, you need to edit the NQWeb/WebReporting/Modules/RoleManagement/Roles.xml file. To change the role permissions for the SystemInspector application, you need to edit the NQWEB\SystemInspector\App_Data\XmlConfig\RolesConfig.xml file. To change the role permissions for the AutomationAgent application, you need to edit the NQWEB\AutomationAgent\App_Data\XmlConfig\RolesConfig.xml file.

Users
You can remove or edit any of the predefined users for NQWeb except for admin.
