Trials knock at our heart and surround us.

Temptations and trials set in, hoping well feel the pressure. Tough times come right after a moment of joy or small victory. We toss and turn at night, wondering how these things work their way into our thoughts, into our dreams, into our lives. It starts to feel like were in a batting cage struggling to hit the balls being fired at us. It gets exhausting. Welcome to life here on earth! And yes its hard, and yes it sometimes feels like it would be just easier to give up than to have faith in God. But it is important for you to remember to keep strong in faith, not only because God made a promise to us, but also because we made a promise to God when we committed our lives to Him. We made a promise to follow Him no matter the cost! So here are a few things to remember when going through the trials and pains of this life. Many Christians believe that if we just pray to God, He will take all of our trials away, but where in the Bible does He say that? One key thing we must remember is that He may be allowing us to go through these trials for a reason. God cares about every detail of our lives including the number of hairs we have on our heads, so why wouldnt He care about the struggles we are going through. In the middle of trials, you may not see it, feel it, or even believe that its there, but take comfort and have faith. God is a good and a sovereign God, who never wastes a hurt. Paul said in 2 Corinthians 4:17-18: For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. Quick note: When we look at our problems, its easy to see them as bigger than they are, so keep in mind that sometimes we are just being dramatic, and to lose faith over something trivial is quite ridiculous, but more common than some might assume. So be careful and wise, and most importantly talk to God about it. He will help you see.

We must also remember to embrace peace during our trials, because they may not leave for a while. In Philippians 4:6-7 Paul said from a Roman prison: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. This verse is coming from a person who had every right, in our flawed human

opinions, to not have peace, and to lose faith! I mean come on. Paul is in prison for absolutely no reason, other than the fact that he is Christian. And when he recounts his many trials in 2 Corinthians 11: 24-25, he says, Five different times the Jewish leaders gave me thirty-nine lashes. Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked. Once I spent a whole night and a day adrift at sea. Lets face it, if anyone had a right to complain, it was him. But Paul uses himself as an example of how we should act. Paul shows us that no matter what the struggle is, we must stay faithful and true to God. Lastly, we must remember that sometimes we are tempted with things and we go through trials as a test to our faith. In James1: 2-4, it says, Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. Sometimes we go through the fires, so that we may come out gold. We are heated to our limits, never farther, and if we the faith and trust that we claim to have, we come out more beautiful and precious than we ever could have imagined, but God could. We only have a short time on this Earth, and we will never know the time or the hour that we are going to leave this temporary home, so with this little time, I urge you to keep faith, or in the case that you do not believe, I implore you to find faith in the One person who makes the trials in life bearable. Because at the end of my life, whether it be a long or short one, I want to be worthy of hearing MY Lord and Savior say to me, Well done My, good and faithful servant.

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will

receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. James 1:12
