Why Consulting I want to go into consulting because I want a challenge.

. Consulting provides the prospect to be exposed to a large variety of management styles, companies and opportunities. One the best aspects is adapting to new circumstances and learning the best ways to balance technical work while also developing a valuable relationship with the client. This shows the companies stability and that they are still growing. The experience I would receive will give me the opportunity to grow my career tremendously both personally and professionally with challenging assignments. Background: At WorldLink, Inc. they had hired a new VP to run the Business Development Department. My role was to cold call companies and try to get new clients an interest to using WorldLinks services. The CEO who hired the VP put me as an intern in the department to essentially watch over the new VP to make sure he is doing his duty since he was new and the CEO had trust in my instinct to let him know if the new VP was not doing his responsibility. After a few weeks passed I told the CEO that I needed to talk to him about the department because we had not gotten any new business since he was hired. He wanted to get my viewpoint on the department. I told him what was happening on how the VP

was making me make all the cold calls and while I was making cold calls, he would be playing games on his phone and was perceived very unproductive. Within a few weeks, he was fired due to lack of bringing business to the company. We hired a new VP and she had gotten us clients within the first week.
