The communion season is now passed. It has been our practice in the NWUSF to work out the calendar so that all the churches have the communion service within the first month of the quarter. This provides us with the privilege of participating in the communion service together. It was an opportunity for us all to reconnect with the reasons for why we committed our lives to the Lord in baptism. The salvation of men depends upon a continual application to their hearts of the cleansing blood of Christ. Therefore, the Lords Supper was not to be observed only occasionally or yearly, but more frequently than the annual passover. This solemn ordinance commemorates a far greater event than the deliverance of the children of Israel from Egypt. That deliverance was typical of the great atonement which Christ made by the sacrifice of His own life for the final deliverance of His people.Bible Commentary, vol. 6, p. 1090. The next communion season will be in April. Please arrange your calendar to be sure that you and all local church members are present for this important memorial. Sometimes it seems that we can skip these moments, but when we do we feel the loss. In reviewing the membership records recently some of the local churches discovered members who have not taken communion in some time. What a loss for them! In doing this they are missing the opportunity to give thanks to the Lord for the great deliverance offered by the atonement of Jesus Christ.

And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the Lord commanded him. And all the people answered together, and said, All that the Lord hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the Lord. Brother Souza will be visiting from his home church in Moriah Heights. He currently serves as the Treasurer of the Western North American Union.
