Fire-fighting measures

Environmental effects : May cause adverse effects in the environment. Do not contaminate domestic or irrigation water supplies, lakes, streams, ponds, or rivers. Can be dangerous if allowed to enter drinking water intakes. The product has an unaesthetic appearance and can be a nuisance. : This product contains materials that are highly toxic to fish, aquatic invertebrates, and algae. Some ingredients of this product can bioaccumulate. : Biodegradation test results for the finished product and several ingredients are not available. Some tested ingredients of this product met the OECD definition of "readily biodegradable" (60% biodegradation over 28 days after exposure to microorganisms). One ingredient (<5% by weight) did not meet this criteria and was determined to be "partially/moderately" biodegradable.
13 . Disposal considerations
Waste disposal : The generation of waste should be avoided or minimized wherever possible. Empty containers or liners may retain some product residues. This material and its container must be disposed of in a safe way. Dispose of surplus and non-recyclable products via a licensed waste disposal contractor. Disposal of this product, solutions and any byproducts should at all times comply with the requirements of environmental protection and waste disposal legislation and any regional local authority requirements. Avoid dispersal of spilled material and runoff and contact with soil, waterways, drains and sewers.
Disposal should be in accordance with applicable regional, national and local laws and regulations. Refer to Section 7: HANDLING AND STORAGE and Section 8: EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION for additional handling information and protection of employees.

Establishes recommended occupational exposure limits. Acute Effect - Adverse effect where severe symptoms develop rapidly and come to a crisis. Alkali - Any chemical that forms soluble soaps with fatty acids. Also referred to as bases. pH values from 8 to 14. Aquatic toxicity - Adverse effect to marine life that results from exposure to a toxic substance. Atm - Atmosphere, a unit of pressure equal to 760 mmHg (mercury) at sea level. Autoignition temperature - The temperature to which a closed container must be heated in or must be heated in order that a flammable liquid, when introduced into the container, will ignite spontaneously or burn.
