I welcome the Representatives from Hanoi City to attend the Conference on ClimateSmart Agriculture and Energy and Disaster-Resilient Technologies from March 10th to 17th, 2014 in Honolulu, Hawaii. All expenses including return travel, accommodation, food and other related expense will be covered by the Conference organizer. The conference is a great opportunity to bring together representatives from government and non-government organizations, enterprises and academies from the U.S., Japan, Korea and Vietnam. The Matchmaking Event for Vietnam projects funded by World Bank and Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment in October 2014 will also be discussed. The March 2014 Conference will cover partnerships between U.S., Japan, Korea and Vietnam organizations that focus on climate change, agriculture, energy and disaster risk management. The pilot plans for Southeast Asia regional solutions will also be discussed. The March 2014 Conference is hosted by the Center for Environmental Research Education Development (CERED) headquartered in Hanoi and its Asia Pacific office in Hawaii, with the coorganization Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), U.S.-Japan Business Council, U.S. Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, APEC Climate Center (APCC), College of Tropical Agriculture & Human Resources - University of Hawaii and Representative Calvin Say - Speaker Emeritus, former Speaker for the Hawaii House of Representatives. Additional meetings will be offered with the Hawaii State Government, Hawaii Congress, Chamber of Commerce Vietnam-U.S., Chamber of Commerce U.S.-South Korea, Korean Chamber of Commerce in Hawaii, U.S.-Japan Business Council, U.S. Office of Economic Development and Association of Small and Medium Enterprises based on areas of interest and program. Furthermore, the State of Hawaii would like to pursue the friendly and cooperative relations with Hanoi City in a wide range of fields such as economics, agriculture, aquaculture, energy, tourism, culture, non-conventional security, urbanization, transportation, climate change and disaster risk reduction, etc.
