Angle Body Piston Valves

Tough Valves for serious applications, including corrosives and steam o to 360 F

Series 8290

...tough and packed with features.

Position Monitoring (optional) Signaling box with mechanical or inductive contacts Compact signaling unit for magnetic position detectors Standard Visual Position Indicator with clear polypropylene cover. Available on 63 and 90 operators

Piston Actuator rotates 360 to allow easy assembly and positioning of pilot port

One Piece Cold Rolled S.S. Stem provides added strength and less resistance Solid Watertight Actuator made from tough fiber composite and protected with double o-ring seal Spring Loaded Stem Seal The Viton* wiper keeps harmful grit away from the stem area. As a backup, there are multipleribbed shearing rings that provide a cleaning action in the stem grooves. These shearing rings provide a longer life by preventing debris from reaching the chevron packing. Solid Stuffing Box Total external sealing Flat embedded seal and chevron shaped PTFE seal High Flow Rate optimization of the fluid flow path Bubble-tight shutoff with PFTE disc

ASCO Pilot Valves Series 8325 8320 are the industry standard for reliability and durability in all industrial environments Also Series 189 Banjo Valves Reliability Smooth stem movement guided by 2 oversized bearings Anti-water Hammer The fluid passes under the disc resulting in slower closure

4 Series 8290 ...reliable performance and long life.

These 2 way angle-body piston valves have proven durability in handling aggressive fluids, tested to over one million cycles. In addition, they can be used in high cycling steam applications (entry above disc), as well as main line steam (entry under disc) dependent upon the velocity and pressures applied to the stuffing box. As the actuator exhausts, the piston slowly closes against the angle body seat to eliminate water hammer. Available in cast bronze bodies with brass or 304 s.s. stuffing box and 303 s.s. disc...or in fine investment-cast 316L s.s. bodies with all 316L s.s. wetted internals. The 50 operator, 63 operator, and 90 operator valves have a 431 s.s. stem held by the stuffing box and chevron-ring packing protected by a Viton* wiper ring which prevents any particles in the media from entering the packing area. All three models have a weep hole on the stem which provides great visual indication of any shaft scoring. The 63 operator and 90 operator actuator housings have a pilot port and an exhaust port with a sintered silencer. Visual position indicators are standard features, with reeds or electronic switches available as options. The 50 operator housing has one pilot port and a top exhaust, with optional electronic or visual position indication available only in Normally Closed constructions.

Designed and built to take on tough applications for more than one million cycles.
Typical applications include: Chemical Processing Equipment Sterilizers Laundry Equipment Air Drying Equipment Pollution Control Equipment Food Processing Equipment Refrigeration Equipment Industrial Compressors Styrofoam Machines Textile Dyeing/Drying Machines Paint Spraying Equipment Bottling Equipment Autoclaves Pilot Valve: Pilot Fluids: Filtered Air or Water Pilot Pressure Range: 60-150 psi Cv: 50 Operator & 63 Operator - .06 minimum 90 Operator - .10 minimum Pilot Port: 50 Operator & 63 Operator - 1/8 NPT 90 Operator - 1/4 NPT

Valve Position Indicator Signaling Box
This Signaling Box fits all Series 8290 Valves. It is supplied separately as a kit with two mechanical switches, or two non-contact switches with LEDs, and mounts on top of the valve actuator in place of the standard visual indicator. As the valve cycles, cams on the signaling lengthening stem operate the switches to provide electrical signaling of the valve position. The signaling box can be rotated 360 on the centerline and be locked into place with a set screw.

Compact Signaling Unit

The operation rod of the Compact Signaling Unit is attached to the stem of the valve and contains the permanent magnet. The extreme positions of the valve stem can therefore be detected by either the reed switch or the magneto-resistive detectors. It is possible to install one or two detectors to monitor one or both positions of a valve.

Angle Body Soft Seated Valves

Cast Iron Bodies 3/4 to 1 1/2 NPT
General Description
These auxiliary-piloted, 2 way ASCO Series 8352 angle body soft seated valves feature an extra large Viton* disc which provides extended service life when handling heavy slurries and metal cuttings. The unique seat design permits compression of the disc material to provide tight shut-off. This allows fluids, such as coolants containing sharp metal filings, to be handled without fear of damaging the seat seal. Fluids pass under the seat, eliminating water hammer. The solid actuator head is cast iron and is bolted directly to the valve body. Valve Parts in Contact with Fluids: Body: Cast Iron; Disc: Viton*; Actuator: Cast Iron Stem Seal: Viton* wiper and O-rings Installation: Must be mounted with actuator above valve body.
