A total of 6.1 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance in Sudan. These needs are driven by a series of inter-related trends, including conflict, insecurity, environmental conditions and displacement. Some 2.6 million people are either refugees or internally displaced people. In 2013, 380.000 people have been newly displaced in Darfur. Following the ongoing conflict in South Sudan, a number of people are currently crossing the border into Sudan. This snapshot represents figures of people in need of humanitarian assistance and provides information on Sudanese refugees in neighbouring countries.
