Frontier Communications, Inc, Stamford, CT Jul 2010 - Present Assistant Vice President - Accounting responsible for revenue and expense accounting for a $5B publically traded telecommunications company providing telephone, internet and video services in 27 states. The Company tripled in size with June 2010 acquisition of properties from Verizon. Managed the integration of accounting operations acquired from Verizon into Frontier's operations including organizational changes, process improvements and system conversions. Managed a staff of 76. Moved accounting operations in IN, NJ and TX to Stamford CT resulting in a $4M expense reduction. Reduced monthly close cycle from 6 days to 3 days. Managed the implementation of Trintech account reconciliation software. Accounting departmental expenses under budget 3 years in a row. Verizon Telecom Operations Finance, Basking Ridge, NJ Oct 2008 - Jun 2010 Director of Finance, Consolidations and Expense Reporting Responsible for consolidating and reporting the financial results of Telecom Area Operations composed of $4.4 billion in expense and 62K employees. Managed the creation of accounting operations to support telecom operations with $3.5B of revenue sold to Frontier Communications on June 30, 2010. Managed the recruitment and training of 57 staff located in IN, NJ and TX. Redesigned monthly variance reporting to direct management focus on the financial impact of major variance drivers. Monitored contract amendments to assure changes were properly implemented. New disputes were reduced 57% on a year over year basis. Provided testimony and litigation support for Verizon in defense of its billing disputes. Verizon Technology Corporation (BBN), Cambridge, MA 1996 - 2003 Director of Finance - Managed a staff of 24. Responsible for managing the Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Billing and Collection Departments for a $240 million unregulated subsidiary of Verizon Communications. Lead efforts for Company to be qualified for a federal electronic invoice submission and payment program that resulted in a reduction in DSO on eligible receivables from 70 days to 4 days, reduction of outstanding receivables by $17.5 million, and an interest savings of approximately $1 million. Successfully resolved a payable dispute with Genuity resulting in a $31 million credit. Planned and successfully managed the Companys conversion to SAP software. Recognized as the best trained and prepared business unit during a Corporate wide conversion.
