The INTJ is insightful and usually very quick to understand new ideas. However, a primary interest is not understanding a concept but rather applying it in a useful way. The suggested job would be some type of scientist. INTJs are natural leaders, although usually chose to remain in the background until a need requires that he/she take lead. On a personal level, the INTJ who practices tolerance and puts forth effort into effectively communicating their insights to others has everything in his or her power to lead a rich and rewarding life.

Overview of how MTBI assists in better understanding of self and virtual team members. (2 para)The MTBI is the most widely used instrument for understanding normal personality differences. It is used to explain basic patters in human functioning. The MBTI is utilized as a self-development tool, often used to firstly clarify who one is and what makes each one tick. The 16 different patterns of action that humans have been categorized as having: 1) extraversion-introversion; (2) sensing or intuitive preferences; (3) thinking or feeling personalities; and (4) preference for structure or spontaneity. The initial taking of the test allows an individual to analyze each of the different patterns. The second step helps to ascertain strengths and weaknesses of each pattern therefore corresponding to a 4 letter acronym. Knowing of each individual can aid the group in identification of its leaders and those that best fit in the group dynamic. For example, the leader of the group can be many types although depending on the type of application of group it could utilize a type that displays a leadership and outgoing perspective that would aid in giving direction to those with mostly introverted types. Comparison of the other types in virtual team, determine how having variety impacts the team(2 para) COMPARISON Within our virtual team we have a variety of three different personality types; ENFJ: ESFJ: INTJ. Firstly, the ENFJ may act as catalysts for group growth, very responsive to praise and criticism, they often have the ability to find potential in everyone and are highly attuned to emotions and needs of others. The ENFJ are the emotion of the group by building and tightening bonds within the group. They are the nurturing of the group that can contribute a different and valid perspective outside of the black and white. Secondly the ESFJ type likes to work with others to complete tasks accurately and on

time and often strive to establish harmony in within their environment. They are appreciated for their contributions and are extremely loyal, even in small matters. The ESFJ is the work horse of the group that motivates the group into the direction of the goal. They provide a work ethic and drive to the group. Lastly the INTJ, when committed can organize a job and see it through, often implementing of their ideas and achieving their goals. They possess a high standard of competence and performance, not only for themselves but for others as well. The INTJ can layout the plan for success and aid the team in keeping a project underway. Analysis of your type and how it benefits virtual team (2 para) As an INTJ, team relationships are utilized for a purpose in which achieving a goal and making progress are primary. The absorption of the work can lend to stimulating likeminded thinking in a collegial relationship, although a personal interaction is often foremost used to move the project forward. INTJs are often active as team players but as a deliberate part of their strategy to get the job done more efficiently. Time spent analyzing and forming a plan to integrate information is critical to creating map, meanwhile directing to get movement and succeed to accomplishment.

Analysis and reflection of aspects of your type that does not work well for you in your virtual team, steps to take to make improvements. (3 para) Analysis The pitfall to an INTJ is the strong conviction of their own vision and sense of being right that they miss the possibility of their own error. Often the issue of change is a conflict within the INTJ, they perceive their own vision so strongly that it is often taken

as an absolute, without change. The INTJ suffers from quick strategic decisions as new information develops and a comparison is made to the INTJ vision. Solidified logistical decisions can go unmade by the INTJ without frustration, but frustration is often felt by the INTJ as change cannot be made of others so easily. The focus of the INTJ is directly related to the process that is used toward the problem versus the specific problem. Listening is not often easily observable of the INTJ, they pose as quiet and disengaged, meanwhile gathering information about a situation and particulars of that situation. Continued analysis of information and data are essential to formulation of a solid solution to a problem, this need can hinder the process for a quick decision and impede the INTJ in a group environment. The process of engaging the INTJ within a group setting is to utilize the needs of the INTJ in the benefit of the group, meanwhile knowing what items can create a conflict within the group. Cognitive thinking of the groups needs for validation by other types is an item that must be in the forefront for the INTJ. The INTJ is not good with interpersonal conflict, the need to withdraw from it or if engaged by a calm and reasoned discussion can ensue. Improved communication skills will be required by the INTJ to obtain the capability of defusing a situation into manageable exchange of feelings and responses.

How you might improve your working relationships with teammates, changes you may make in your team, what changes you could make in your interactions and behaviors to increase effectiveness of team. (4 para)

To forge the success of the group, several steps toward a common goal must be taken. Firstly, the involvement of other types must be considered toward making allowances for different behaviors outside of ones norms. Secondly, impulsive actions should be refrained and given over to thought out approaches and recommendations rather than strong suggestions to groups. Providing respect to others individual thoughts and validation of creativity are choices that the INTJ can formulate to ensure a cohesive unit is created. Group involvement will require feedback; this form of communication is often misunderstood and can be interpreted incorrectly. Miscommunication or lack of communication directly affects a groups ability to ensure a successful completion of a project. Therefore, well thought out suggestions can give constructive feedback to the originator, meanwhile providing an acceptable yet non critical form of validation. In the matter of increasing team effectiveness, a common goal is a great start where many types can focus on their common attributes toward such a goal. The involvement of suggestions versus criticism is a preliminary item that is often overlooked. Attitudes are contagious and a bad attitude toward an item at hand can ruin any semblance of positive collaboration. Leadership and motivation to each member in the group is essential for keeping a group inspired about the task at hand. Enforcement of positive attitude and encouragement to other group members for the INTJ is not a difficult item, although making it a cognitive effort is. Direct interaction of members by the INTJ should include some personal interaction to solidify more than just a common goal but also to provide a somewhat deeper relationship on a personal level, this personal level for other types aids in fostering a trusting atmosphere for

creativity. In turn the need for a personal level of interaction can satisfy the introverted potion of the INTJ to become more extraverted, therefore creating a symbiotic relationship where each group member benefits from the interaction.
