Theeasiestwaytoarrangeaggregationwouldbetousecontiguouscomponentcarrierswithinthesameoperatingfrequency band(asdefinedforLTE),socalledintrabandcontiguous.Thismightnotalwaysbepossible,duetooperatorfrequency allocationscenarios.Fornoncontiguousallocationitcouldeitherbeintraband,i.e.thecomponentcarriersbelongtothe sameoperatingfrequencyband,buthaveagap,orgaps,inbetween,oritcouldbeinterband,inwhichcasethecomponent carriersbelongtodifferentoperatingfrequencybands,seefigure2.
