T ESCO’s XCD™ diamond enhanced CASING

DRILLING® bits are designed to drill soft to
medium-soft formations at high rates of penetra-
tion. The XCD™ drills in much the same manner as
a PDC drill bit, except that the casing string takes
the place of the drill string. The design features
ensures that the XCD™ can be drilled-out quickly
and efficiently with either PDC, roller cone drill or
another XCD™ bit.

The main body is either blank or pre-threaded with a

box connection sized for the proper casing. Bit bodies
are designed with a drift diameter in excess of the
next drill bit size that ensures no hard materials are
drilled-up. The nose is fixed to the body by a high-
strength connection and locked in place using a
compound that resists stresses imposed during
drilling and when drilling out of the XCD™ itself.
