The Case study is intended for an audience (Beginner) having a basic awareness of Label Printing in Mobile Supply Chain Application (Release 12) and give detail explanation of how we configure Label Printing Process. This Case Study explains the basic setups we used for Label Printing for a specific Business flow.

Analysis
Oracle Warehouse Management provides the ability to print specific label formats for particular circumstances through either a real-time synchronous integration or an asynchronous integration. This Case study explains how we did label printing with an asynchronous integration. The basic setups we used are: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) Setup Profile Options at warehouse management System Setting Up Printer Types Setting Up Printers Assigning Printers Defining Label Formats Assigning the Label Types to Business Flows.

Setup Profile Options at WMS WMS: Label Print Mode: Asynchronous WMS: Label Output Directory: /dbfiles/applcsf/outbound WMS: Label File Prefix: LBL Setting Up Printer Types: Login to Oracle Applications, and select the System Administrator Responsibility. Navigation: Install /Printer/Types. Enter Label in the Type field, Description in the description field and save the work.

Oracle Mobile Supply Chain Applications does not need printer drivers. The Third Party software processes the actual request. The name of the printer must correspond to the name of the printer as recognized by the 3rd party printing software.

Defining Label Formats: Navigation: Setup/Label Printing /Label Formats Select Label Type from the list of values and Entity Type as Format Enter a Label name in the Names Field (This should be the name the third party printing software Uses) Select the default Format check box to use this format as the default format for this label type.

Mobile Supply Chain Applications only allows one Label format per Label Type. The default Label format is always used. We found that the label format designed in the third party software usually contains variable fields that need to be populated with data from Oracle Mobile Supply Chain Applications. We must define a label format within Oracle Applications that specifies the data elements to include in that format as well as the variables to use in referring to those elements.

Defining Label Field Variables: Click on Label Fields and Variables button to define label field variable. Select a Field Name from the list of values and enter Field Variable Name. The Field Variable must match within the third party printing software.
