Sikagard -670 W MY

Description

Sikagard -670 W MY is an acrylic based, water dispersed protective coating producing a matt surface finish.

Tools Required

Water jet, compressor, mechanical mixer (max. 500 rpm), weighing scale, brush and roller.

Surface Preparation

The substrate must be free of loose and friable particles. Remnants of release agents, especially oil and wax-based must be removed. Repair any concrete defects using appropriate products from the SikaTop , Sika MonoTop and Sikadur range of materials. Leave the repair material to cure for 1 day before any coating.

Priming

For marine structures a priming coat of Sikagard -700 MY is recommended.

Application

Sikagard -670 W MY is supplied ready to use. Stir it well mechanically before use. Sikagard -670 W MY can be applied by brush, roller (preferably with a short piled lamb skin roller) or airless spray equipment with a pressure of 180 bar, nozzle with opening diameter of 0.38 0.66 mm and a spraying angle of 50 - 60o.

Coverage

Sikagard -670 W MY: 2 2 0.12 ltr/m per coat (~ 0.15 kg/m ), 2 coats minimum required. Note : 1st coat of Sikagrad -670 W MY can be diluted with water by maximum of 5% when apply to strong, dense concrete.

Cleaning

Use water to clean all tools for Sikagard -670 W MY before the material hardens.

Safety

Wear gloves and goggles when using both Sikagard -670 W MY and Sikagard -700

MY.
Sikagard -700 MY is flammable (flash point is 32o C). Good ventilation is essential during application. Restrain from smoking. For more information, please refer to the respective Chemical Safety Data Sheet (available upon request).
