Iglesia ni Cristo abbreviated as INC is a ["So-called Christian"] denomination religion that originated in the Philippines in 1914 under its founder Felix Y. Manalo who became the first executive minister. By the time of his death in 1963, the Iglesia ni Cristo had become a nation-wide church with 1,250 local chapels, and 35 large concrete cathedrals. His son Erano Manalo became the next church leader and lead a campaign to grow and internationalize the church until his death on August 31, 2009, whereupon his son, Eduardo V. Manalo, succeeded him as executive minister. The Iglesia ni Cristo proclaims itself to be the one true church and claims that it is the restoration of the original church founded by Jesus whom they believe existed as a man and denies the Deity of the Christ, the Son of God. They view that all other Christian churches including the Roman Catholic Church are apostates. They believe that the early church of Christ disappeared when it apostatized and many were killed. Salvation is by entering their church. INC doctrines cite that the official registration of the church with the Philippine government on July 27, 1914 by Felix Y. Manalo who is referred to as the last messenger of God. Members of this religion consider the church to be a fulfillment of biblical prophecy of the first church being reestablished in the Far East and the coming of the Seventh seal marking the end of days. Since February 1939, the church has been publishing Pasugo (English: God's Message) in both Tagalog and English. As of 2010, the God's Message Magazine also features a Spanish Section and in 2012 it has a German and Japanese Section.

Is the Iglesia ni Cristo (1914) the true church of God in the Bible as they claim to be? Is Jesus only human and not God? In order to be saved does one has to enter the church of Christ (1914)? Is Felix Y. Manalo a real messenger from God? Do they really teach the Word of God and the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ? Did the first century church really turned her back and disappeared? Who are the real believers- the Church according to the apostles? What is the real and ONLY gospel preached for us to be saved? What are the basic teachings of the Bible upheld by the Iglesia Ni Cristo? How truly biblical the doctrines upheld by the Iglesia Ni Cristo?

About the Bible

We believe that the Bible is the word of God and the sole basis of our faith and service to God The Alimighty God committed His words in writing (cf. Jer. 30:2). The collections of inspired books where the words of God are written is called the Holy Scriptures by the apostles (cf. II Tim. 3:15). All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults, and giving instruction for right living ( cf. II Tim. 3:16-17 TEV), and also, the Holy Scriptures are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation (cf. II Tim. 3:17, TEV). Thus, according to the apostles: Now, brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, Do not go beyond what is written (I Corinthians 4:6 NIV, emphasis mine) Because the Bible is the sole basis of our faith, we reject teachings not written in the Bible (e.g. Chrismas, Purgatory, Trinity, etc.) and other basis of faith (e.g. Catechism, Book of Mormons, Apocrypha, etc.).

BIBLICAL ANSWER Rev 22:18 I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book. The Bible is indeed the Word of God and the sole basis of all faith and teachings. The bible also warned not only of removing teachings from it but also adding teachings to it. The INC

have added and removed teachings from Scriptures. They added thoughts that are not explicitly said in the Scripture they have taken and removed teachings from Scripture by way of not teaching them. We shall find them as we go along with their teachings. Examples are: Remove teachings by: 1. Not quoting and misquoting the verses that teach Jesus as God. Add teachings by: 1. Taking the verses out of context and put their thoughts therein. 2. They teach what the verses do not teach.

About God
We believe that there is only one true God, the Father, and no one else besides Him Because the Bible is the sole basis of the teachings of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), thus we uphold the teachings of the prophets, the apostles and the Lord Jesus Christ that THERE IS ONLY ONE TRUE GOD, THE FATHER (cf. Mal. 2:10; Is. 64:8; I Cor. 8:6; John 17:1, 4). The Lord God Himself said: Do not tremble, do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim this and foretell it long ago? You are my witnesses. Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other Rock; I know not one." (Isaiah 44:8 NIV) Thus, because we firmly uphold the biblical teaching that there is only one true God, the Father, and no one else besides Him, we reject the unbiblical teaching that there are three person in one God that aside from God the father, there is God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

BIBLICAL ANSWER In Malachi 2:10 They asked, "Do we not all have one father? Has not one God created us? And in verse 11, Judah has dealt treacherously, and an abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah has profaned the sanctuary of the LORD which He loves and has married the daughter of a foreign god. The One God and Father who created them was the LORD or YAHWEH. YAHWEH is the

name of God (ELOHIM). YAHWEH is the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Isaiah 64:8 But now, O LORD, You are our Father, We are the clay, and You our potter; And all of us are the work of Your hand.

Jesus is also called the Father in Isaiah 9:6 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

In Isaiah 44:8 'Do not tremble and do not be afraid; Have I not long since announced it to you and declared it? And you are My witnesses. Is there any God besides Me, Or is there any other Rock? I know of none.'" Again the one speaking here is YAHWEH. YAHWEH is the Name of God (Elohim). The name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. In verse 6"Thus says the LORD (YHWH), the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: 'I am the first and I am the last, And there is no God besides Me.

JESUS (In Hebrew is YESHUA, or YAHWEH SAVES) IS YAHWEH. 1. JESUS/YESHUA/YASHUA IS YAHWEH PIERCED. Zec 12:1-9,10 2. God 2Pet 1:1 Tit 2:13 Rev 1:7-8, 18

1Cor 8:6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him. The One God addressed here is the Father. The One Lord addressed here is Jesus Christ. The verse did not say that Jesus is not God nor it did not say the Father is not Lord. But one thing is seen in the verses is that from the Father are all things through the Son and all things exist for the Father and through the Son. All things were created by the Father through the Son. The Son is the Co-Creator with the Father.

Being the Co-Creator with the Father makes the Christ God in nature. Jn. 1:3,10 Col 1:16 Heb. 1:2,10 1Cor. 8:6 Prov. 30:4, 8:22-31 Rev. 3:14 INC ministers say that the Lordship of Jesus was only given by God. The question is when did the Christ exist as the Lord? Act 2:36 "Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ--this Jesus whom you crucified." The Son of God took the form of a man and was named Jesus. The Man Jesus was made and Lord and Christ. The human form was made Lord and Christ but Christ, the Lord, the Son of God existed with the Father.

The Apostles said He was the Lord of glory when He was crucified. 1Cor 2:8 the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory;

God called the Son of God the Lord who made the heavens and the earth and said to sit at His right Hand. Heb 1: 8 But of the Son He says, "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, And the righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom. 9 "You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness above Your companions." 10 And, "You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the works of Your hands; 11 They will perish, but You remain; And they all will become old like a garment, 12 And like a mantle You will roll them up; Like a garment they will also be changed. But

You are the same, And Your years will not come to an end." 13 But to which of the angels has He ever said, "Sit at My right hand, Until I make Your enemies A footstool for Your feet"?

Jesus confirmed that the Lord (God the Father) called Him Lord and to sit at His right Hand and He is not a mere Son of Man but the Son of God, the Lord. Mt 22: 41 Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question: 42 "What do you think about the Christ, whose son is He?" They *said to Him, "The son of David." 43 He *said to them, "Then how does David in the Spirit call Him 'Lord,' saying, 44 'The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, Until I put Your enemies beneath Your feet"'? 45 "If David then calls Him 'Lord,' how is He his son?" 46 No one was able to answer Him a word, nor did anyone dare from that day on to ask Him another question.

Therefore His Lordship was from the beginning with God His Father and came down from Heaven to earth and was not from this world. John 3:31-32, 6:38, 6:62, 64a, 16:27-31

CONCLUSION: Therefore if Jesus is YAHWEH therefore He is God. He is the Lord and He is the Savior. The One True God in the OT is spoken of YAHWEH which is the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. YAHWEH is the only God, only Lord and only Savior and there is no one else beside Him.

About the Lord Jesus Christ

We believe in Jesus Christ and accept Him as the Son of God, Lord, Savior, and the Mediator between God and Man We accept Jesus Christ as the Son of God: And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, heard his cry and saw how he died, he said, Surely this man was the Son of God! (Mark 15:39, NIV).

We accept Jesus Christ as our Lord: So, all the people of Israel should know this truly: God has made Jesus the man you nailed to the cross both Lord and Christ. (Acts 2:36, New Century Version) We accept Jesus Christ as our Savior: The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you had murdered by hanging Him on a tree. God exalted this man to His right hand as ruler and Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. (Acts 5:30-31, Holman Christian Standard Bible) We accept Jesus Christ as the Mediator between man and the one true God: For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (I Timothy 2:5, NIV) Because we believe that there is only one true God, the Father, thus, Jesus is not the true God, but the Son of the one true God. The Lord Jesus Christ Himself attests that He is indeed a man in nature: As it is, you are determined to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do such things. (John 8:40 NIV). Thus, we reject the teaching that Christ is God.

BIBLICAL ANSWER

INC believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. They believe He is the Lord and Savior. And also believe only in the humanity of Jesus. What is the right belief of Jesus being the Lord and Savior? What is to be believed in Christ the Son of God. The question is what does the Bible really teach about the Christ? Does Jesus only possess a human nature and not the nature of God?

THE TRUE NATURE OF CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD & THE SON OF MAN, GOD TAKING THE FORM OF MAN 1. ORIGIN OF THE CHRIST MIC 5:2 JN 1:1-3 2. EXISTED BEFORE ALL THINGS COL 1:17 JN 1:15 1Co 10:2 - 4 JN 8:58 1Pe 1:11

JESUS IS THE ONLY SON OF GOD Gal 4:4 Jn 1:14 Mt 16:13 - 17 Believers are only given the right to become sons of God, adopted sons through Christ. JN 1:12 - 13 Eph 1:5 9. HE NEEDED A HUMAN BODY a). CHRIST THEREFORE IS THE SON OF GOD WITH THE SAME NATURE WITH HIS FATHER GOD AND HE TOOK THE FORM OF A MAN Phil 2:6 - 7 Jn 1:1 - 5 Jn 1:9 - 11 1Jn 1:1 - 4

CONCLUSION: Therefore the real Son of God is the Christ who was with the Father from the beginning who was sent down from heaven to earth and took the form of a man so He can redeem man and His body be made as a sacrifice for all. The Christ is called the Son of God and the Son of Man revealing His two nature when He took the form of a man from the form of God. He was with the Father from the beginning through whom all things were made and nothing was made without Him. His name is the Word of God. He is the Christ the Son of God. The spirit of antichrist deny Jesus as coming in the flesh. He came to earth from Heaven and took the human form. 2Jn 1:7 Heb 10:5

About the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the power that sent by the Father in the name of Christ

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the power (cf. Acts 1:8, TEV) sent by the Father in the name of Christ, to teach and remind His messengers of all things that Christ said (cf. Jn. 14:26), to help us in our weaknesses and infirmities (cf.Jn. 15:26; Rom. 8:26).The Holy Spirit strengthens, edifies, and comforts the Church of Christ (cf. Eph. 3:16-17; Jn. 14:26). And though the Holy Spirit is a spirit, but the Scriptures never refer to it as God the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit is not God but one of the spirits being sent by God (cf. Rev. 5:6).

BIBLICAL ANSWER

INC ministers teach that the Holy Spirit is only a power from God but at the same time a spirit sent by God. Act 1: 8 but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth." The verse did not say that the Holy Spirit is power. It says we shall receive power when the Spirit has come upon us. Let us see the scriptures about the Holy Spirit confirming that the Spirit is God and the Lord. LORD in the Old Testament 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. God Nature of the Holy Spirit 1. The Holy Spirit is God because the sin of blasphemy can be committed against Him. Only God can be blasphemed and when committed against the Holy Spirit it cannot be forgiven anymore. Mt. 12:24-32

CONCLUSION: Since they accepted that the Holy Spirit is a spirit therefore He exists. And that Spirit is the Spirit of God, the Spirit of the Lord. Therefore He is God. He is Yahweh. There is one Spirit and one Lord and one God. All the attributes of the Godhead are found in the Spirit of God. Speaking against the Holy Spirit cannot be forgiven anymore.

About the Messengers of God

We believe that God sent Messengers to preach His words We believe that the Bible is the word of God, however, the Bible is not an open book. God

11

has purposely hidden His words in mystery (cf. Rom. 16:25), thats why those who strive to understand the Scriptures through their own worldly knowledge will never able to come to the knowledge of the truth (cf. II Tim. 3:7). How then man will be able to understand the truth written in the Bible? Through Gods messengers according to the Bible: It is the duty of priests to teach the true knowledge of God. People should go to them to learn my will, because they are the messengers of the LORD Almighty. (Malachi 2:7, TEV) People must go to those sent by God (the messengers of the Lord) to learn His will. According to Apostle Paul: And how can they preach unless they are sent (Rom. 10:15, NIV). According to the Lord Jesus Christ: I tell you the truth, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me (John 13:20, NIV). We believe that the late Brother Felix Y. Manalo is Gods last messenger, the fulfillment of the biblical prophecies regarding the Angel (messenger) from the east ( cf. Rev. 7:2-3) who would preached to Gods sons and daughters from the ends of the earth ( cf. Is. 43:56; 41:9-10; 46:11).

BIBLICAL ANSWER

INC Ministers teach that people must hear the words of God only from Gods messengers. This is correct and they even quoted Paul at Romans 10:15. Today many claim to be sent by God. Many use the bible to teach. So how can we know who are the real and true messengers of God?

Let us therefore go to the same verse in Romans 10:15 and the context of Romans 10 how can we know the real and true messengers from God? What does the Bible teach us about a true messenger of God. 1. He speaks the Word of God Jn 3:34 2. Confesses Jesus has come in the flesh Jn 6:38,62 16:28-31 Heb 10:5 2 Jn 1:7-9 3. The Gospel (good news) he brings a). The ONLY GOSPEL is about the death and resurrection of Christ for the forgiveness of our sins Rom 10:15-16 with Isaiah 53 1Cor 15:14,11 b). Salvation in Christ alone Rom 10:1-13 Act 4:12 1Jn 5:9-13.

If we accept the teachings of the Apostles, Christ accepts us. The teachings of the Apostles

12

are written. Jn 13:20 1Jn 1:1-4 Rev 1:3 Whoever preaches another gospel is cursed. Gal 1:6-9 The good news for the apostles is that Jesus has paid for our sins on the cross and whoever repents and calls upon Him shall be saved. Act 2:21 Rom 10:13. Salvation is in Christ alone. INC teaches to be saved one must enter their church but the apostles teach to be saved is through believing the Lord Jesus Christ. Act 16:30-31. INC is not the true church of God because its messengers bring another gospel- salvation thru entering their church. And they deny the Christ coming into the flesh or coming down from Heaven to earth in the form of a man. Jn 1:14 Phil 2:6-8 Felix Y. Manalo as the last Messenger from God. In context, Felix Y. Manalo is not the angel referred into in Rev 7: 2 And I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun, having the seal of the living God; and he cried out with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, 3 saying, "Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees until we have sealed the bondservants of our God on their foreheads. Let us see the events before and after Rev 7:2-3 1. The Opening of the seals a. Book with seven seals b. Lamb of God exalted

2. The Tribulation Mt 24.15, 21 Is 24, 26.20-21 1st seal broken. Rise of the Antichrist (Verse 6.2) Temple and city defiled Dan 9.27 2Thess 2.3-4 1st Seal: Conquer (Verses 6.1-2) 2nd Seal: War (Verses 6.3-4) 3rd Seal: Famine (Verses 6.5-6) 4th Seal: Death of mankind is destroyed (Verses 6.7-8) 5th Seal: First Martyrs (Verses 6.9-11) 6th Seal: Heaven & earthquake (Verses 6.12-17) 144,000 Jews and Multitudes sealed (Verses 7.1-9) The saints protected (Verse 7:3) Tribulation saints worship (Verses 7.10-17)

The angel therefore who spoke to the four angels is an angel from God not a messenger man. The incident shall be during the Great Tribulation were the Antichrist shall arise for a while and the wrath of God shall fall upon men. These angels were warned not to bring harm to Israel and the saints of God who shall be sealed. Manalo put his thoughts in the

13

Scriptures were John has seen the Vision in the Great Tribulation which is still a future event and has not yet happened. Isaiah. 43:5-6 5 "Do not fear, for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east, And gather you from the west. 6"I will say to the north, 'Give them up!' And to the south, 'Do not hold them back.' Bring My sons from afar And My daughters from the ends of the earth, Again in context, this is not about F.Manalo. The prophet Isaiah prophesied about Israel shall return back to their land after they have been disbursed to other countries because they have broken the first covenant and rebelled against God and worshiped other gods. The nations who subdued them were destroyed by other nations and favor was given to Israel as they returned back to their homeland. Verse 14 talked about the Babylonians and the Chaldeans.

Isaiah 41:9-10 9 You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, And called from its remotest parts And said to you, 'You are My servant, I have chosen you and not rejected you. 10 'Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.' In context again, the servant spoken here is not F. Manalo. The servant here of God is the nation Israel as read in verses 8 and 14. 8 "But you, Israel, My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, Descendant of Abraham My friend,. 14 "Do not fear, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel; I will help you," declares the LORD, "and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.

Isaiah 46: 11 Calling a bird of prey from the east, The man of My purpose from a far country. Truly I have spoken; truly I will bring it to pass. I have planned it, surely I will do it. Again in context this is not F. Manalo. Isaiah spoke about again Israels condition before God who brought them as a Nation. They have transgressed against Him and they were deported and scattered to other countries. God promised to bring them back again and the man whom He shall used to bring them back is King Cyrus of Persia. Persia destroyed Babylon who conquered Israel.

It is for Israel. See verses:

14

8 "Remember this, and be assured; Recall it to mind, you transgressors. 12 "Listen to Me, you stubborn-minded, Who are far from righteousness. 13 "I bring near My righteousness, it is not far off; And My salvation wil not delay. And I will grant salvation in Zion, And My glory for Israel.

The man to be used is King Cyrus. Is 44: 26 Confirming the word of His servant And performing the purpose of His messengers. It is I who says of Jerusalem, 'She shall be inhabited!' And of the cities of Judah, 'They shall be built.' And I will raise up her ruins again. 27 "It is I who says to the depth of the sea, 'Be dried up!' And I will make your rivers dry. 28 "It is I who says of Cyrus, 'He is My shepherd! And he will perform all My desire.' And he declares of Jerusalem, 'She will be built,' And of the temple, 'Your foundation will be laid.'"

Isaiah 45: God Uses Cyrus 1 Thus says the LORD to Cyrus His anointed, Whom I have taken by the right hand, To subdue nations before him And to loose the loins of kings; To open doors before him so that gates will not be shut: 2 "I will go before you and make the rough places smooth; I will shatter the doors of bronze and cut through their iron bars. 3 "I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden wealth of secret places, So that you may know that it is I, The LORD, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name. 4 "For the sake of Jacob My servant, And Israel My chosen one, I have also called you by your name; I have given you a title of honor Though you have not known Me.

Fulfilled already. Ezra 1: Cyrus's Proclamation 1 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he sent a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying: 2 "Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, 'The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and He has appointed me to build Him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. 3 'Whoever there is among you of all His people, may his God be with him! Let him go up to Jerusalem which is in Judah and rebuild the house of the LORD, the God of Israel; He is the God who is in Jerusalem. 4 'Every survivor, at whatever place he may live, let the men of that place support him with silver and gold, with goods and cattle, together with a freewill offering for the house of God which is in Jerusalem.'"

CONCLUSION: The real and true messengers of God possess characteristics that the bible has confirmed: they speak the word of God, confess that Jesus has come in the flesh (came down from heaven to earth and took the human form), and they preach the only one gospel (good news) of salvation that Christ died for our sins and whoever calls upon Him shall be saved. Salvation alone is in Christ and is not through entering any group or church. Many shall come in His Name but deny Him as the only way, the truth and the life. Felix Ysagun Manalo is not the one prophesied in Revelation and Isaiah. The angel is a real angel of God and the incident shall be in the Great Tribulation where the Antichrist shall arise and the wrath of God shall fall on men. He is neither the servant nor the man that God shall use in Isaiah. That prophecy was fulfilled already, in context, in Israel and King Cyrus. Therefore the INC Ministers had a gross misrepresentation of the Scriptures. They have put their own private thoughts and interpretations therein which is against the principle of correct biblical understanding. 2Pet 1:20. They have added and removed teachings from Scriptures. Rev 22:18-19.

About Gods Standing Policy of Election

We believe that God elects and set apart His people to serve Him The Iglesia Ni Cristo believe that since the ancient times, God has set apart his people to serve Him (cf. Ps. 4:3). Know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself; the LORD will hear when I call to him. (Psalms 4:3 NIV) People outside this election are not Gods people (I Pet. 2:9-10, TEV), not of Christ, and without hope and without God (cf. Eph. 2:12). God set apart Set and his race. When Seths race fall away from God, Then Noah and his family were set apart by God. However, Noahs race disobeyed Gods commandment. Because Gods policy of election continues, He set apart Abraham and made covenant with him. Gods everlasting covenant with Abraham continues with Isaac, Jacob and the nation of Israel. But, Israel did not remained faithful to God (cf. Dan. 9:11). Thus, the Church Of Christ became Gods nation replacing Israel (cf. I Pet. 2:9-10). However, the first century

16

Church Of ChrIst also departed from the faith or was apostatized (cf. I Tim. 4:1, 3). But, the Lord Jesus declared that He has other sheep (cf. Jn 10:16), that He will gather them in the future and there will be one fold or one flock ( cf. Jn. 10:16, Easy to Read Bible). Thus, this was Christ promise of re-establishing or restoring His Church. Thus, even up to this day, Gods policy of election remains through His chosen people from the ends of the earth: I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, 'You are my servant'; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:9-10 NIV)

BIBLICAL ANSWER

It is true that God sets His People apart and He knew them from the beginning before the foundation of the world. But how does God set His people apart. They quoted Ps 4:3 Know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself; the LORD will hear when I call to him. Two things we can see in this verse godly and call to him. God sets the godly unto Himself those who call upon Him. In biblical theology in the New Testament a person becomes right with God is through the Son of God who becomes our wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption. 1Cor 1:30 God sets apart those who call upon Him. Act 2:21 Rom 10:9-13 How does God set apart His People? 2Thess 2: 13 But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth. 14 It was for this He called you through our gospel, that you may gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

He calls us through the gospel. The real and true messengers of God teach the Word of God, confess Jesus coming down from Heaven to earth and took the human from and bring the only gospel that Christ paid for our sins that salvation is through Him alone and not through entering a group or church. Therefore those who heard and believed the only through Gospel become IN CHRIST. He chose us for salvation Paul in Thessalonians said through the sanctification by Spirit and belief in the truth. The true gospel is salvation and eternal life is Christ and salvation is not by entering a church.

17

Eph 1: 12 to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ would be to the praise of His glory. 13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation-having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise.

Again the error in the teaching of INC is that they teach that the true church of the first century apostatized and has fallen away- totally destroyed so Christ promised to reestablish again and that is in 1914 through F. Manalo. We have proven from Scripture that Isaiah and Revelation were not speaking of F. Manalo and were taken out of context. Also the fallen away did not say ALL THE CHURCH shall fall away. The verses said many and not all, the verses said some and not all. 1 Tim 4: 1 But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times SOME will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons, Mt 24: 9" Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. 10"At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another. 11"Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. Continue the verse there will be those who shall endure to the end and the gospel shall expand to the whole world beginning from the first century church. 13 "But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved. 14 "This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.

The Church never disappeared for the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Mt 16:18 "I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. He called others into the flock through the WORD of His first apostles. Any messenger who teaches contrary to what the apostles have written and preaches another gospel are not joined into Christ.

Jn 10:16 "I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My voice; and they will become one flock with one shepherd. Jn 17: 20 "I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word;

18

21 that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.

Only by the true gospel we become part of the body and by which we are called and set apart. Eph 3: 6 to be specific, that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel,

CONCLUSION. God sets apart His People and calls them through the Only One Gospel. The good news is that Christ reconciled the world to Himself through His Son (2Cor 5:19) and that whoever believes that Christ paid for our sins, repents and believes Him for eternal life is saved (Romans 10:9-13). The Elect are those who first hoped in Christ and believed in Him for eternal life. Eph 1:4,12-13 1Tim 1:16 The whole church in the first century did not disappear. The gospel preaching did not end. The Bible said only, many and some will depart from the faith. It did not say all. And the gospel is preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations. Mt 24:14. And those who become part of the Body of Christ are those who believed Jesus for eternal life through the gospel.

About Salvation and the Church

We believe that man must enter the Church Of Christ in order to be save come Judgment Day We believe that the salvation mentioned in the Bible is the salvation from the eternal damnation come Judgment Day. The Bible clearly teaches that all men committed sin (cf. Rom. 3:23) and the wages of sin is death (cf. Rom. 6:23), and the full wages of sin is the second death, the eternal damnation in the lake of fire (cf. Rev. 20:14; 21:8; 14:910). The Savior, Christ Jesus, clearly states that: I am the door; if any one enters by me., he will be saved (John 10:9 RSV). Those who enters through Christ became members of His body, the Church of Christ (cf. Rom. 12:4-5; Col. 1:18; Rom. 16:16). God testified that membership in the true Church Of Christ is needed in order to be saved come Judgment Day through adding to the Church such as should be saved:

19

Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. (Acts 2:47, KJV) The Lord Jesus Christ is indeed the Savior and not the Church, however, Apostle Paul points out that the Church is the one that Christ will save: For a husband has authority over his wife just as Christ has authority over the church; and Christ is himself the Savior of the church, his body. (Eph. 5:23, TEV) Thus, faith alone is not enough: What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?...Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. (James 2:14 and 24, KJV) Christ will not save anyone outside the Church Of Christ because it would be against the law of God that requires that sinners should pay for their own sin (cf. Dt. 24:16; Jn. 8:24;I Cor. 5:13).

BIBLICAL ANSWER

Looking closely from the Scripture INC has taken the words of Jesus again out of context. There is NO- NO VERSE in the bible that says that one must enter Iglesia ni Cristo (1914 to be exact) to be saved. And their church is different from the doctrines and the gospel of the Apostles. Let us study John chapter 10.

1 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber. 2 "But he who enters by the door is a shepherd of the sheep. 3 "To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 "When he puts forth all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5 "A stranger they simply will not follow, but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers." 6 This figure of speech Jesus spoke to them, but they did not understand what those things were which He had been saying to them. 7 So Jesus said to them again, "Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 "All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. 9 "I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and

20

find pasture. 10 "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. 11 "I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. 12 "He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who is not the owner of the sheep, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. 13 "He flees because he is a hired hand and is not concerned about the sheep. 14 "I am the good shepherd, and I know My own and My own know Me, 15 even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. 16 "I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My voice; and they will become one flock with one shepherd. 25 Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you do not believe; the works that I do in My Father's name, these testify of Me. 26 "But you do not believe because you are not of My sheep. 27 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.

What did Jesus say through which we shall enter the sheepfold? 7 So Jesus said to them again, "Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 "All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. 9 "I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.

Jesus is the DOOR by which we enter. We do not enter directly to the church which is the Body of Christ. It is Jesus and God that adds us to the Body. It is the work of God. Act 2:47, 1Cor 12:13. 16 "I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My voice; and they will become one flock with one shepherd.

The QUESTION is how do we enter through DOOR who is Jesus Christ the Son of God? Again to be part of the true body we must enter through DOOR. Jesus said he who does not ENTER by the DOOR but through another way is the thief and the robber. Jn 10:1.

How one enters?

21

1. We hear His voice. Verse 3 The apostles were clear God calls us through the words of Christ- the gospel. And the gospel message is Christ died and resurrected for our sins and whoever repents and believes shall be saved. 1Cor 15:1-4,11 Rom 10:13 2. By believing Him. Verse 9 and 25-28 By faith, by believing in the heart and confessing He is Lord who died and resurrected for our salvation. Rom 10:9-13, 17 Mt 11:28 Jn 5:39-40 3. Through the gospel then we become part of the Body. Eph 3:6 4. Those who were being saved God add to the Body of Christ. Act 2:47 Rom 1:16-17, 1Cor 1:18-24, 15:2, 12:13 The true CHURCH is the Body of Christ who was called by the ONLY true gospel and composed of all who were born again through it (1Pet 1:3, 23-25) who believed the real Jesus the Son of God who came down from Heaven and took the form of a man to die for our sins. To be in Christ is after believing the only gospel (Eph 1:13) then only then one becomes part of the true church (Eph 3:6). And the saints the believers- the church, those in Christ were the purchased ones whom He shall come again for and be with Him forever.

Faith alone is not enough but FAITH IN CHRIST and repentance towards God we shall be IN CHRIST and it is GOD who puts us in the Body. Act 20:20-21 Gal 3:22 The church therefore are those whose Lord is our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Cor 1: 1 Paul, called as an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother, 2 To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling, with all who in every place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours:

CONCLUSION: About salvation and the Church the Bible is clear that we are saved by grace through faith in Him. Eph 2:8-9. To be saved is to enter through DOOR who is Christ by believing Him. We cannot climb or enter another way to the Body of Christ. We enter to and through Christ through faith in Him. He invites us to come and believe that He is the Lord and Savior and through the gospel- this gospel preached Christ died for our sins, died and resurrected f or our salvation, we believe and are saved. The Spirit of God baptizes us into the Body. And the head of the Church whom we believe is not mere man but Divine who created all things and He is the Head of the Body the church and who took the human form to be sacrificed

22

for our atonement. If this is not the Christ that they preached and believed they shall not be saved and cannot enter the sheepfold. Col 1: 13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18 He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.

About Baptism
We believe that man needs to receive baptism to be saved and the baptism commanded by Christ and preached by His apostles is done through immersion Man needs to receive the baptism commanded by Christ and preached by the apostles to be saved (cf. Mark 16:15-16), to become Christs disciple (cf. Mt. 28:19), and to receive the Holy Spirit (cf. Acts 2:38). The baptism commanded by Christ and preached by His apostles is through immersion (Rom. 6:4; Jn. 3:23; Acts 8:36-38).

BIBLICAL ANSWER

What is baptism? Paul described baptism in Romans chapter 6. 3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; 7 for he who has died is freed from sin. 8 Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him.

23

10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 11Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Through baptism we are buried with Christ and our old selves died with Him and as Christ was raised from the dead we too shall be raised into life. We identify ourselves with and in Christ. He died and has risen and we too, our old selves have died we are no longer slaves of sin but we walk in the newness of life. We are alive in Christ. Who are baptized then? In Mk 1:14-15 Jesus said, Repent and believe the gospel. Mk 16:15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 "He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned. Jesus said, in Matt 28: 18 . "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." We only baptize those who BELIEVED THE ONLY GOSPEL TRUTH preached by the apostles. 1Cor 15:1-4,11, 1:18-24, Rom 1:16-17. Those who are saved through the gospel are baptized.

So called messengers who baptize in the Name of Jesus but carry another gospel is in vain. For baptism to be real, the only gospel should be preached and believed and that is salvation is in Christ alone and not by entering or becoming a member of a church. Christ crucified is preached and that is the gospel. 1 Corinthians 15: 1 Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 11 Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.

24

12 Now if Christ is preached,. INC ministers preach set of doctrines and ask the people if they finish and accept the doctrines and will follow they can be baptized. The apostles preached first the gospel and the people believed in Jesus and were saved and were baptized. Act 10:34-48, 16:14-15, 30-34 The Holy Spirit is received though faith in the message of the Cross and faith in Christ. Act 15:7-9, Gal 3:1-2, 26.

CONCLUSION: Baptism is the believers identification with Christs death and resurrection. We are buried with Him through baptism and as He rose from the dead we too who are made alive, given the eternal life shall walk in the newness of life. We are no longer slaves of sin but we are made alive to God through Christ. Jesus commanded the gospel to be preached to all and make disciples. A disciple is he who believes the only GOSPEL and by believing he receives eternal life and is saved. Then he is baptized. Teaching people set of doctrines without the gospel truth and baptizing them is in vain and not real baptism. The prerequisite of true baptism is the preaching and being saved through the only GOSPEL and through Christ. 1Cor 1:18-24, 15:1-4 Act 26:17-18.

About the Church Administration

We believe that the Church Administration is from God and we are duty bound to submit ourselves to them The Iglesia Ni Cristo believes that every member is duty-bound to submit himself to the Church Administration because it is Gods commandment: Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you. (Hebrews 13:17 NIV) The Church Administration is from God ( cf. Col. 1:25 NKJV) who He entrusted the message and the ministry of reconciliation (cf. II Cor. 5:18-20).

25

BIBLICAL ANSWER

Every believer should submit to every authority. God has placed in the church His ministers to edify the Body and nurture their growth in Christ. It is the duty of every church leader to make sure that they are teaching sound doctrines according to the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Should they teach another gospel and another set of doctrines not taught by the apostles they shall be accursed, this is APOSTASY. Turning away from the simple faith in Christ and the pure gospel to another gospel. Denying the Lord who came down from Heaven to earth for our salvation. Real and true administration from God comes from the Head, the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

2Jn 7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist. 8 Watch yourselves, that you do not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward. 9 Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son.

1Cor 12: 3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus is accursed"; and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit. 4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. 6 There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. 7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 8 For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills. 12 For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. 14 For the body is not one member, but many.

26

Eph 4: 11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. 14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; 15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

CONCLUSION: Christ is the Head of the Church. The true Church headed by the Lord and Savior are those who according to 2Jn 9 abide in the teachings of Christ and confess who the real Jesus isHe came into the flesh when He came down from Heaven. That is why in 1Cor 12:3 no one can say Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. The true church is given gifts by the Holy Spirit so that every member does his part. And God gave the ministers in the church for the work of the ministry, correct doctrines and unity and edification of the body.

About the Christian Way of Life

We believe that those who are truly in Christ should live a righteous life based on moral teachings of the Bible The Iglesia Ni Cristo believes that all those baptized in Christ should put on Christ (cf. Gal. 3:27).It is Christ who should live in them and no longer they themselves ( cf. Gal. 2:20). Those who are truly in Christ should lead a righteous life based on moral teachings of the Bible (cf. II Cor. 5:17; II Tim. 3:15-17). The Bible explains that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God: Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. (I Cor. 6:9-10 NIV) We also believe that God prohibits the eating of blood (cf. Lev. 17:10; Acts 15:28).

27

But be sure you do not eat the blood, because the blood is the life, and you must not eat the life with the meat. (Deuteronomy 12:23 NIV)

The Bible also strictly prohibits mixed marriage with unbelievers: Do not unite in marriage with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness with iniquity? Or what mingling has light with darkness? (II Corinthians 6:14 Lamsa)

BIBLICAL ANSWER

A person not given new birth cannot change himself. Only those who experience genuine regeneration through the Spirit can be changed and walk in truth. It is not hearing set of doctrines and being baptized that we enter the Kingdom of God. It is a spiritual act of God. One must be born again through faith in Christ through the power of the gospel so that he can be in Christ and become a new man. Jn 3:1-18. Jesus said if the Son sets you free you shall be free indeed. Jn 8:34-36. Only Jesus Christ the Son of God can set us free from sin. He died on the cross so that He can condemn sin in the flesh and rose from the dead for our justification so that we can walk in righteousness. Rom 8:3-4. Without genuine spiritual regeneration one who enters a church has changed only his religion. New birth is only experienced again through the ONLY Gospel preached and believed. 1Pet 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 23 for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God. 24 For, "All flesh is like grass, And all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, And the flower falls off, 25 But the word of the Lord endures forever." And this is the word which was preached to you.

It is when Christ is received. Jn 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. We are in Him, in Christ through faith in the gospel.

28

Eph 1:13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation--having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,

Then we are transferred from the kingdom of Satan to God through faith in Him. Act 26: 17 rescuing you from the Jewish people and from the Gentiles, to whom I am sending you, 18 to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.' Col 1:13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, We become a new creation in Christ. 2Cor 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

Then the fruit of the Spirit comes out in our lives. Gal 5: 16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. 17 For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. 19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, 21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.

CONCLUSION: Real Christianity is spiritual change from the inside and not an outward show of religion. If the person is not changed inside his religion is worthless. His membership in any church is

29

worthless. To be changed is to be IN CHRIST. This is the will of God for man especially for those He has called through the only GOSPEL. Gods dealing with man since the time of the apostles never changed. He saves through the power of the preaching of the gospel. Whoever believes in Jesus who died for our sins and for our salvation and eternal life, God saves. Jesus said to Paul that He is sending him so that the people will be transferred from the power of Satan to God, receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance and be sanctified through faith in Him. Satan hates the message of faith in Christ. For those who accepts and believes Jesus as the Lord and Savior shall be saved. We are saved from sin, the power of sin and penalty of sin by Christ alone through faith and hope and trust in Him. We are given new birth by the resurrection of Christ through the Only Gospel. We are changed from the inside and we become a new person- a new creation in Christ. We become children of God. We are able now to obey God and follow His commandments because Jesus came into our lives and changed us. The Spirit of God living in us bears fruit. This is real Christianity.

About Worship of God

We believe that it is the whole duty of man to worship God and keep His commandments The Iglesia ni Cristo believes that it is the duty of man to worship and serve our Lord God: Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. (Psalms 100:2-3 NIV) The Lord Jesus Christ taught His servants that we must woship God in spirit and in truth: Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." Juan 4:23-24 NIV Thus, the Bible strictly prohibits kneeling, bowing serving and worshipping graven images: Thou shalt not make to thyself a graven thing, nor the likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, nor of those things that are in the waters under the earth. Thou shalt not adore them, nor serve them: I am the Lord thy God, mighty, jealous, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me. (Ex 20:4-5 Douay-Rheims) Because we must not think that God is like gold or silver or stone

30

And since this is true, we shouldn't think of God as an idol designed by craftsmen from gold or silver or stone. (Acts 17:29 New Living Translation) The Christians are admonish by the apostles not to neglect their church meetings: Let us not neglect our church meetings, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near. If anyone sins deliberately by rejecting the Savior after knowing the truth of forgiveness, this sin is not covered by Christ's death; there is no way to get rid of it. There will be nothing to look forward to but the terrible punishment of God's awful anger, which will consume all his enemies. (Hebrews 10:25-27 LB) They are referring to the congregational worship services ( cf. I Cor. 14:26 and 15). Thus, the members of the Church Of Christ value our congregational worship services.

BIBLICAL ANSWER

What is real worship that is accepted by God? Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." Juan 4:23-24

Real worship that is acceptable to God comes only from His real people- sanctified and washed by the blood of the Lamb. For our worship to be accepted we must be accepted by God. And we are only accepted by God through His Son. No one can come to the Father except through the Son. Whoever is in the Son is accepted by the Father. The true believers in Christ are dwelt in by the Holy Spirit. They become the Temple of God offering sacrifices of praise. Not only from the fruits of our lips but of our lives as well. Col 3:16-17 Rom 12:12

The believers are the Temple of God 1Cor 3: 16 Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 2Cor 6:16 Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, "I will dwell in them and walk among them; And I will be

31

their God, and they shall be My people.

These believers are those who believed the only gospel. 1Cor 1:18 For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And the cleverness of the clever I will set aside." 20 Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. 22 For indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom; 23 but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness, 24 but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 30 But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, They receive the Spirit through faith in the gospel. Gal 3: 1 You foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified? 2 This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?

So therefore those in Christ can truly worship the Father in spirit and in truth. They are in the Spirit and believed and are in the truth. False gospel and false doctrines can never bring a person to God neither he can worship God therein. One must have the Spirit of God.

God since the time of the apostles has called many into His Kingdom through the preaching of the gospel and all over the world Jesus is glorified and magnified as the Lord and Savior. He is worshiped as the God the Father is worshiped. The Father is worshiped as God and Lord so the Son is also worshiped as God and Lord. 1Cor 12: 3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus is accursed"; and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit. Jn 5: 22 "For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son, 23 so that all will honor the Son even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the

32

Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

We must worship Jesus as we worship God the Father. By the Holy Spirit we lift up the Name of Jesus in the house of God giving glory to the Father. Believing Jesus as mere man dishonor the Son and the Father and this is not the true worship of the Son. God alone is worship and He will not share His glory to a human. Since the Christ is the Son of God who was with the Father from the beginning and from the form of God to the form of man died for us. He is worthy of worship because He is the Son of the Father. Phil 2: 5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

These are the teachings of the Apostles and that is why they said in Phil 3: 3 for we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh, And to be a true worshiper is to know the Christ, the Son of God. Jn 5: 23 "But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. 24 "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." 25 The woman *said to Him, "I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called Christ); when that One comes, He will declare all things to us." 26 Jesus *said to her, "I who speak to you am He." 42 and they were saying to the woman, "It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this One is indeed the Savior of the world."

33

CONCLUSION: The worship that the Father seeks is the worship from His true children. The children of God are those who repented and believed and got born again through the power of the gospel, the Spirit and the resurrection of Christ. They are those who accepted the Sons atonement on the cross and God put them in His Kingdom. They were regenerated spiritually and therefore through the Spirit of God they exalt Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior. The Spirit dwells in every believer through faith in the message of the cross. They become the Temple of God offering sacrifices of praise from their lips and their lives. They honor the Son as they honor the Father. They worship the Son as they worship the Father. Therefore a true worshiper worships Jesus not as a man but Lord, God and Savior and this honors and gives glory to the Father.

About Brotherhood
We believe that members of the Church of Christ must love one another as brothers and sisters in Christ The Iglesia ni Cristo believes that members of the Church of Christ should observe the brotherhood Christ Himself established the brotherhood inside the Church of Christ ( cf. Mt. 23:8; John 13:34-35). That is why members of the Church of Christ address one another as brother and sister.

BIBLICAL ANSWER Christ admonished His children to love one another as He loved them. The love of God manifests among the saints whenever they gather together as one church. This is seen among all true believers. Whatever race or nation when they gather together there is unity and love and joy in the Spirit.

About Christian Unity

We believe that it is Gods commandment that we must subscribe to sacred unity

34

The Iglesia ni Cristo believe that we must subscribe to sacred unity, a complete and perfect unity for in this unity, God, Christ and the Christians are joined together or united: "I'm not praying only for them. I'm also praying for those who will believe in me through their message. I pray that all of these people continue to have unity in the way that you, Father, are in me and I am in you. I pray that they may be united with us so that the world will believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me. I did this so that they are united in the same way we are. I am in them, and you are in me. So they are completely united. In this way the world knows that you have sent me and that you have loved them in the same way you have loved me. (John 17:20-23 Gods Word)

BIBLICAL ANSWER

Jesus was very clear in this prayer to the Father. He prayed for His early disciples and the Apostles that they may be one and united. And He prayed also for those who WOULD BELIEVE THROUGH THEIR WORD that they too be one. Today those who believed through the writings of the apostles are one with Christ and the Father. Those who believed Jesus through the Only Gospel preached are enjoined into the Body of Christ by the Spirit of God. The Church are composed of all born again believers through the gospel who believed the true Christ- the Lord and Savior, the Son of God who died for our sins. He is not mere man but the Lord of Glory who came down from Heaven to earth crucified, died and resurrected. He is worshiped and glorified the same with His Father. The Body of Christ who has Christ is the Church of Christ- the Church of God.

Iglesia ni Cristos CONCLUSION Thus, all the doctrines or beliefs upheld by the Iglesia Ni Cristo are truly written in the Bible. The Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) is truly biblical.

BIBLICAL CONCLUSION
THE IGLESIA NI CRISTO (1914) THEREFORE IS NOT THE TRUE CHURCH OF GOD. FELIX Y. MANALO IS NOT THE MESSENGER PROPHESIED. THEY HAVE NOT TAUGHT THE COMPLETE TEACHINGS OF CHRIST. THEY ADDED AND REMOVED TEACHINGS FROM THE SCRIPTURES BY PUTTING THEIR OWN PRIVATE INTERPRETATIONS. THEY HAVE DENIED THE DEITY OF CHRIST AS THE SON OF GOD WHO CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN AND TOOK THE HUMAN FORM TO DIE FOR OUR SINS. THEY DO NOT PREACH THE ONLY GOSPEL TRUTH FOR SALVATION- CHRIST CRUCIFIED. THEY

35

HAVE TWISTED THE WORDS OF JESUS THAT TO BE SAVED IS TO ENTER THE CHURCH (1914) BUT TO ENTER IS THROUGH HIM BY BELIEVING IN HIM THROUGH THE ONLY GOSPEL. THE IGLESIA NI CRISTO IS NOT THE TRUE CHURCH AND ITS MEMBERS ARE NOT TRULY BORN AGAIN BECAUSE THE GOSPEL IS NOT PREACHED. THE GOSPEL OR THE WAY OF SALVATION FOR THEM IS TO ENTER THEIR CHURCH. THE WAY OF SALVATION IS THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST. WHEN YOUR FAITH IS FOCUSED ON ENTERING THE CHURCH AND NOT ON THE FINISHED WORK OF CHRIST ON THE CROSS THEN THIS IS ANOTHER GOSPEL - SALVATION THROUGH THE CHURCH NOT SALVATION THROUGH CHRIST. THEY HAVE PREACHED ANOTHER JESUS NOT PREACHED BY THE APOSTLES THEREFORE THERE IS NO SALVATION IN THE CHURCH OF CHRIST (1914).
