Numerical Simulation
Meshing :
Description : Starting from technical specifications setting out the mesh quality, CAD files inputs are preprocessed to meet the requirements of the calculations to be done (Crash, EMC, RF, Rheology, ..). Deliverables are mesh files formatted according to the specifications and quality requirements.

Numerical Simulation
Static and Dynamic Simulation
Description : Projects in linear static and dynamic calculations are intended to : -Check the strength of a mechanical component or structure when submitted to service loads and stress, if required, the necessary reinforcements are proposed, -Optimize the thickness of the used shapes and materials to save weight and costs. Deliverables are reports and calculation notes with CAD files of the modified and optimized part or assembly.

Example : Cluster This case study concerns the validation of multiple pins and springs of a cluster : 1)Calculate stress and constraint values in the pins during the assembly / disassembly process. 2)Find deformation values of the backlash springs and the corresponding strains. 3)Suggest possible ways of improvements in case of failure. 4)Suggest ribs positioning to lower excessive deformations. 5)Calculate the modal frequencies of the ACC needle.

Static and Dynamic Simulation
Example : Multi-blades spring This study concerns the assessment of the spring flexibility (in mm/100Kg), starting from a CAD file. Then, making the necessary modifications to the spring shape to reach the targeted flexibility. Thanks to this study COTREL reduced the number of physical test prototypes from 7 to only 1. The deviation between the calculated and measured values of flexibility was around 1%.
