Darryl E. Able
Major: Broadcast Journalism Area of Emphasis: Cinema Studies Hyattsville, Md. Darryl.able@gmail.com

If you stop everything else, still keep moving. Darryl Able has an interest in cinema studies. After graduation, he plans to take part in a fellowship in sports media in Washington, D.C. His advice to students is Success is a mind state, and in regards to success, he looks back on his DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) regions victory in Battle of the States his freshman year as his best HU experience. Darryl dreams of a life where he will be able to wake up on Fridays and feel no different from Monday because no day should feel like work.

Adjoba Anoh
Major: Broadcast Journalism Minor: Marketing Hometown: Clinton, Md. adjoba.anoh@yahoo.com

You shouldnt go through life with a catchers mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw something back. Maya Angelou Adjoba recalls her junior year as the most memorable. She met so many great people on campus through the Student Leadership Program, and even received the opportunity to become a big sister to the incoming freshmen. After graduation, Adjoba plans to work for Capitol File Magazine as an editorial assistant and save enough money to make the big move to New York City where she will continue to pursue her career in broadcast journalism. One day, she hopes to become a daytime news anchor for a major network and write a book that will uplift minority women around the world. Advice she gives to students is to never take no for an answer when it comes to something that you are passionate about!

Mariah L. Baylor
Major Broadcast Journalism Area of Emphasis: English Hometown: Minneapolis Mariah.Baylor@gmail.com

Stand up for what you believe in, even if it means standing alone! Upon graduation, Mariah plans to move to New York City to work at Edelman, a PR firm, as well as MTV and Karmaloop TV. When asked about her favorite HU experience, she said: It would have to be playing volleyball with my closest friends as a way to pay for school. Mariahs advice to current and future Hampton students is to use a planner and get to know your advisor well. In the future, Mariah has goals of becoming an on-air talent for a major television network as well as traveling the world with her family.

Jasmine S. Bell

What you think ... you become. Jasmine is currently constructing a path to take after graduation. She plans to obtain a job working as a public relations specialist or a special events coordinator. Jasmines best learning experience at HU took place freshman year when she began her journey. She learned how to adjust to living in a new environment, while sharing a dorm room with a complete stranger. That experience taught her how to compromise, deal with different personalities and treat people with respect. Jasmine advises students to remember to always do their work before they party because there will always be another party somewhere else at another time.

Ballah Boakai

When all is said and done, I want more to have been done than said. Ballah plans to find a great job in his field and start a career in the media industry. He dreams to one day have a career that he enjoys and wants to live a happy, debt-free life. Reflecting back on his HU experiences, Ballah recalls that 100 Days and Insomnia were some of his best. His advice to current and future students is: Have fun, go out and make friends, but also try to keep a high GPA.

Brittany S. Brown
Major: Public Relations Minor: Marketing Hometown: Los Angeles B91Brown@gmail.com

The only person that can get in the way of your success is you. Brittany is proud to say that her most profound, hysterical, emotional and life-changing moments have all taken place on the grounds of Hampton University. She has participated in student-run organizations, acquired new skills and interacted with some of the most influential people. Brittany plans to venture out into the PR and consulting segments of fashion. She advises all future students: Build good relationships with your professors. When they see that your talent is followed by humility, persistence and positive energy, they will always want to help you get to where you desire to be. Brittany has had far too many great experiences at HU to count, but she says the best experience was getting the chance to sit down and interact with Scripps Howards walking legend, Prof. Earl Caldwell. Her dream life entails her being a multifaceted entrepreneur, specializing in all of the things that she loves doing.

Tiara Budd
Major: Public Relations Minor: Spanish Hometown: Philadelphia Tiara.Budd@gmail.com

True strength is not measured by the ability to hold it all together, but the ability to hold it together when everyone would expect you to fall apart. Tiara has been interested in the world of journalism and communications for as long as she can remember. In fact, she plans to soon head to New York City and work at a public relations agency. Tiaras dream life would be to live in an apartment there and become a high-powered executive. She says she would then donate whatever money she has to breast cancer foundations and also spend a good portion of my time traveling around the world. She advises students to network whenever you get the chance and to get as many internships as possible and make a difference in and off campus. She recounts her best times at the university, saying: My overall experience at HU has been pretty positive, but watching myself change into the woman I am today has been an amazing experience. Tiara also hopes to inspire and mentor young African-American women in her field.

Maia R. Butler

Let us so live that when we come to die even the undertaker will be sorry. Mark Twain Maia sees herself working in corporate communications for a major media company in the future. Her best HU experience was making friends with people from all over the country and adapting things from their region to her lifestyle. In her dream life, Maia has already worked successfully in the industry and has settled down with her husband and two children and is traveling the world. She advises students that even if they think they know what they want to do in life, be open to exploring new possibilities.

Gabrielle A. Byrd

Nothing in life will be handed to me, so if I want it I must work hard for it! Gabrielle is looking forward to graduating from Hampton University and plans to continue her education at Wayne State University. After pursuing her professional goal of becoming an assistant producer, Gabrielle hopes to produce segments on E! and, hopefully, one day own a restaurant. The advice that she gives to students is Make a list of short-term and long term goals and steps on how you would like to obtain them.

Aint nobody got time for that, so leave your attitudes at the door. Jasmines favorite memories while attending Hampton were seeing Michelle Obama speak to the student body and voting for the first time in the 2012 election. Coming from a predominately white area, attending an HBCU was a big adjustment, but one she will value and cherish for years to come. She advises future students to make the most of the their time at Hampton, for the four years will fly by. Jasmine plans to further her education by attending graduate school and eventually opening her own wedding planning firm. She dreams of one day enjoying a lucrative and luxurious lifestyle and having a happy and healthy family.

Jaleasa Carroll
Major: Public Relations Minor: Marketing Hometown: Shreveport, La. jaleasa.carroll@gmail.com

Find out what you were chosen to do. It will be easy because it is what you love. Jaleasa will be working with the Army Public Affairs office at Fort Eustis in Newport News, Va. Her dream is to create a full-service public relations firm, live in Milan, Italy, make money through photography, and eventually open a bar/lounge/restaurant. Jaleasa cites her favorite experiences while at HU have been taking the journey with her best friends and sisters, Jasmine Bell, Lisa Dacres and Briana McCann. She says: We have all overcome the challenges that this life has put before us. We have been together all four years at Hampton without one wavering moment in our friendship. They have helped me more than they know. Jaleasas advice to students is do what works best for you, and you are the only one that can determine that.

Maya Cash

Anything worth doing is worth doing well. Soon, Maya plans to head home and work in her chosen field of public relations/events. She is looking forward to starting work at Atlantic City Alliance, the new marketing leg for her hometown whose new city slogan is DO AC. Mayas advice to students is to get as involved as possible and to take advantage of all the resources and opportunities the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications and Hampton University presents to them. She says shes had countless significant experiences at HU and is thankful for all of the people and situations that have crossed her path because shes learned so much from each of them. According to Maya: I wouldnt be the person I am today without each and every experience and relationship I made at HU.

Jasmine M. Claypool

Good things happen to those who wait, but I believe good things happen to those who work hard. Life could be a movie for Jasmine. With interests in documentary production, after graduation, she plans to attend film school. Jasmine believes this step is key in pursuing her dream life because she wishes to release multiple documentaries, one day as an esteemed producer. Jasmine cites her best experiences at Hampton University as being those spent at Scripps Howard attending Caldwell Cafs and learning from Professor Caldwell, a veteran journalist. She advises students to always keep a positive attitude even when times are rough, and you want to give up. Also, utilize the faculty. They know what they are talking about!

Takhaja L. Cotton

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 28:1 Takhaja plans to return home where shell gain more experience in the public relations field and continue event planning. Her ultimate dream is to open her own event planning company named Cottongirl Productions with her two sisters. She also dreams of becoming a loving wife, mother and to have extreme happiness in her life and career. Takhajas purpose is to be the woman God has called her to be. Her best HU experience was senior year as a whole, turning 21, planning parties and spending time with her friends. She encourages future Hampton students to take advantage of ALL opportunities the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications and other campus organizations have to offer as well as build up relationships with professors, staff and faculty at Hampton because you never know who they could know.

JaRon Crawley
Major: Public Relations Minor: Technical Theatre Hometown: Cleveland JaRonM.Crawley@gmail.com

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I, I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. Robert Frost JaRon Crawley has a passion for film, and he intends to pursue it. After graduation, he will begin his internship in Cannes, France with the Creative Mind film group. While there, he will attempt to expand his knowledge of the film business and also develop significant networking contacts in the film industry. If it were up to him, JaRons dream life would be engrossed with film, fantasy and freedom. He plans to remain in France after his internship and obtain a masters degree in cinematography and English.

Bianca M. Currie

What God has for you, it is for you! Most seniors would agree that it is easy to become distracted in college. However, Bianca plans to never lose sight of her dreams, which is what she advises incoming students. Bianca plans to continue to work hard toward becoming an entertainment reporter for E! network and hopes to eventually create a segment just for black celebrities. After the election of President Obama her freshman year, Bianca feels that anything is possible with a positive support system.

Lisa L. Dacres

Pressure makes diamonds. Lisa plans to start her career and continue her education at The University of Georgia or The University of North Carolina at Charlotte after college. Not letting the daily pressure of lifes obstacles discourage her, Lisas goal is to become a creative director for a media and entertainment company, while owning a branding and consulting and public relations firm. Lisas best HU experience was attending the events of senior week with her close friends and classmates. Her words of wisdom to future Hamptonians are: Hard works pays off.

Victoria C. Davis

Be the change you want to see. Victoria plans to attend law school at Kent University, DePaul University or Loyola University. Her dream in life is to be a practicing attorney for Hilton Worldwide brand and live in Chicago. Victorias best HU experience was homecoming her sophomore year. Her advice for future Hamptonians is: Whatever you want to do, do it. Dont put it off. Four years is over in a blink of an eye.

Winnie M. Dortch

When you love what you do, youll never work another day in your life. Winnie plans to attend graduate school at DePaul University in her hometown of Chicago. She values her time spent at Hampton and advises students to stay positive and have great expectations. DO NOT LIMIT YOURSELF. Everyone does not have the privilege to attend the prestigious Hampton University, so use your resources and work hard. While at Hampton, Winnie she says she built her confidence and learned to look at her African-American culture in a different light through one of her best college experiences joining Swing Phi Swing Social Fellowship, Inc.

Tinika Edwards

Who God bless no man curse. Tinika is an ambitious, charismatic and intelligent woman who strives to become legendary. She plans to capitalize on her outgoing personality as a publicist for a major entertainment company, as well as pursue a career in crisis communication. Tinikas dreams in life include making an imprint in the world in her profession and to become wealthy, leaving behind a legacy for her family and loved ones. Tinikas favorite experience at Hampton University was meeting Michelle Obama during a campaign rally. Stay focused as an individual, she encourages students, and try not to get caught up in the hype of being in college. Stand out!

Nina M. Ferguson
Major: Public Relations Area of Emphasis: Sports Management Hometown: Minneapolis nina.ferguson1@gmail.com

If it was easy, everyone would do it. Nina plans after college to use her degree to take her somewhere that has a warm climate. She would like to pursue a career in advertising, public relations or marketing. Her ambition later in life is to own and create a promotion company. One of Ninas best HU experiences was celebrating 100 Days with her close friends and classmates. Her advice to future Hamptonians is: Make HU your own.

Jaimi Gray
Major: Broadcast Journalism Minor: Marketing Hometown: Henrico, Va. msleah43@aol.com

The best is yet to come. To make reality better than your dreams is a great goal, and Jaimi plans to do just that. During her time in college, Jaimi remembers transferring to Hampton University. She candidly reminisces that her best HU experiences were those intoxicating nights that turned into great stories the following morning. Soon, Jaimi will be flying out to Cannes, France to intern and participate in the Cannes Film Festival. She also plans to move to New York or California to pursue her career. While Jaimi has been involved in numerous activities and organizations, such as The Hampton Script, the Center for Broadcast Excellence, the Ebony Fire dance team and more, she has maintained her academic success and remained on the Deans List. Clearly, Jaimi plans to leave on a good note. All of the hard work that I have done and will do, will speak for itself. Then, I plan on giving back to my parents who worked so hard to raise me, and yes, I will spoil my children. I am so excited for LIFE! God is my best friend, and He promised me that whatever I need and desire, He will supply. I aint got no worries.

Nakysha R. Haywood
Major: Broadcast Journalism Area of Emphasis: Graphic Design Hometown: Harrisburg, Pa. nakysha.haywood@gmail.com

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 While getting her education at Hampton, Nakysha has taken a special interest in her hobby of makeup artistry and plans to receive certification in it soon. Afterward, she hopes to attend film school. Nakyshas dream life involves her being a music video director/producer living in Nice, France, and her momma not having any bills! Her best experience at Hampton was senior week, where she was able celebrate this time at HU with her friends one last time before she graduated. Nakyshas advice to students is to make sure you have a great college experience, but stay focused and remember your priorities.

When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then youll be successful. Busy. This word does not begin to describe Roberts four years as a Scripps Howard student. From writing to broadcasting, he has done it all and advises students to do the same, taking advantage of all that the school has to offer. After having a very productive undergraduate career, Robert is anxious to start school in the fall at the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. His most notable experience at Hampton was when he had the opportunity to compose a 102-page original feature-length screenplay entitled G.R.I.T.

Martina Holmes
Major: Public Relations Minor: Marketing Hometown: Oakdale, Minn. martina.holmes88@gmail.com

Hindsight is 20/20. Though she has not yet decided which school fits her needs, Martina is planning to attend law school. This is a crucial step in fulfilling her dream of becoming an entertainment lawyer and eventually opening her own law firm. Understandably, be yourself and follow your dreams is Martinas best advice to students. She realizes that being a student at Hampton can be very challenging at times, but Martina firmly believes that it is important to stay true to yourself and true to what you initially came to Hampton University to accomplish. Martinas favorite HU experience was the day she moved into Virginia Cleveland as a freshman. Reminiscing fondly, she says: I will never forget this day because I was eager to meet new people, make friends and begin a new chapter in my life.

Michael Q. Howard

Live with courage, have the courage to be the best you that you are! Michael plans to start a career in his field, but also wants to dedicate his summer after graduation to making a difference and giving back. He also hopes to start his own nonprofit organization. Looking back on his best times at HU, Michael says that his experiences have been priceless. He goes on to say: I gained lifelong friendships. One of my best experiences at Hampton was when we celebrated the 10th Anniversary with the gala and other events. His advice to students is to utilize their resources and to make sure to secure an internship early. In Michaels dream life he is very successful and is remembered for making a difference in others lives.

Dexter L. Johnson
Major: Broadcast Journalism Area of Emphasis: Psychology Hometown: Chesterfield, Va. pyltigger@gmail.com

Nothing is impossible. To every problem, there is a solution. Determination is the word that comes to mind when describing Dexter. He plays an active role in the Scripps Howard community and is also a member of the WHOV news staff. With loads of ambition, Dexters plans include entering the television industry as a production assistant for a local news station. In his dream life, he is living out his lifelong dream of becoming a game-show host and/or a game-show producer. Dexter had some great times at Hampton, but his favorite experience was Spring Break of 2012 in Miami with his friends. His advice to students is to stay focused, do the best work they can, dont be afraid to do something theyve never done before, be good to people and have fun with whatever they do.

Kendra Johnson
Major: Print Journalism Minor: Marketing Hometown: Richmond, Va. kendraDanise@gmail.com

I plan on being great, I care not to be less. Kirk Franklin DETERMINED best describes Kendra. Although most students jump straight into the next level of education, she plans to return home and teach children as a literacy specialist. A year later, she will enroll in an integrated marketing communications program, where she will receive her masters degree. Hampton has been great to Kendra. She recalls her best HU experience as attending an Honors College retreat, where she met new people and bonded with other students who too were a part of the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications. Kendra advises students to make the most of all opportunities presented throughout these years at Hampton. College is a playground to let your ideas run wild. When she reaches the top, Kendra hopes to be a fusion of Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey and June Cleaver. She says: I want to be a media tycoon, like Kerry Washington, and have a dog with a superhero husband. It is clear that Kendras future is limitless.

Kiara Kitty Joyner


Major: Public Relations Minor: Marketing Hometown: Upper Marlboro, Md. kiarasjoyner@gmail.com

Be yourself. Everyone else is taken! Kiara will be working at the U.S. Department of Agriculture in the Legislative and Public Affairs Office in Washington, D.C., after graduation. She also plans to take a course at George Washington University and become a certified event planner. Her advice for students is for them to make the best of their college experience because these are going to be some of the best years of their lives. She adds: Also, take advantage of student organizations and networking opportunities ... It will definitely help you in your future endeavors. Kiaras best HU experiences were participating in school fashion shows, saying: Modeling is something I really enjoyed here at Hampton. In her dream life, she is the owner of an extremely successful wedding planning company, a wife and a mother of two. Oh, yeah, and I would be Beyonces best friend! LOL.

Naimah Kimbrue
Major: Broadcast Journalism Minor: Cinema Studies Hometown: Laurel, Md. nkimbrue@gmail.com

Heaven on Earth is a choice you must make, not a place you must find. Naimah is a multitalented individual. Although her immediate plans are to go home to Maryland and work, her dream is to become a screenplay writer and/or a documentarian. Naimah also wants to travel the world. She sees herself living somewhere warm, like Florida or California, with a family of six and a dog. Being a college student for four years has provided Naimah with knowledge to pass down to other students. She advises them to have good time management skills, to get involved and to stay focused. Naimahs best HU experience was the Homecoming of 2009 because it was one of the best homecomings since she became a Hampton University student.

Erik Terrell Kyser


Major: Broadcast Journalism Minor: Leadership Studies Hometown: Philadelphia Candyyamz@comcast.net

God did it. Erik has been known around Hamptons campus as Mr. Funnyman, and he aspires to travel with this very persona. He plans to continue advancing his standup comedy career by taking his act to New York. In the meantime, hell use his degree and radio experience to pursue a career in radio. Eriks best HU experience came in the fall semester of his sophomore year when he and four friends made Dont Eat in the Cafe, a YouTube spoof that blew up across the campus. In Eriks ideal life, he is one of Americas most treasured comedians and actors, has a nationally syndicated morning radio show, habitually lands blockbuster movie roles and tours the country doing comedy specials that are later bought by Comedy Central and HBO. Erik encourages other students to follow their heart. Youll never have to learn to love what you do if you learn to do what you love. Turn your dreams into goals and go for it! If they say it cant be done, it only means they havent done it.

Jasmine S. Lee

For God knows the plans he has for you, plan to give you a hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 Jasmine is not only a great writer but also a superb broadcast personality. She plans to work at a local radio station in either production or sales after graduation. College has provided Jasmine with many wonderful experiences, but the most memorable was Ogre 100 Days with her big brothers and sisters. Jasmine dreams of one day working as the producer or on-air talent at a major radio station in a large market. She also wants to enjoy a wonderful life with her three sons and loving husband. Jasmine lives by her advice to other students: Complaining gets nothing done, so be the change you want to see.

Olivia Lewis
Major: Broadcast Journalism Area of Emphasis: Pre-Law Hometown: Winston Salem, N.C. lewiold0@gmail.com

You have to fail to succeed and laugh often and hard. Always bright and goal driven, Olivia has already made a pretty big name for herself in the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications and plans to continue her work in the sports media field. She would love to one day become a sports columnist in a major city or an agent of various professional athletes. Being a student at Hampton University for the past few years has equipped Olivia with the necessary knowledge to succeed in the real world. She has had many wonderful college experiences, but what stuck with her most are all the ambitious, hardworking and creative African Americans she met in one place. Her advice to other students is to get a mentor or mentors early and develop a real relationship with them.

He remembers his best HU experience as being the sophomore year block party, which was when he met his current roommate and friends he will have for life. Do what makes you happy. Everleigh has done just that. During her time at Hampton, she faced many adversities, yet was never discouraged. Instead, she pushed harder. Her advice to students is to stay focused and never feel inadequate. If its yours, its yours. When you love what you do and are good at what you do, the right opportunity will be out there waiting for you. Everleigh definitely sees a career in the media industry in her near future. Determined to succeed, she aspires to follow in the steps of her role model, Oprah Winfrey. At the peak of her career, she hopes to produce and own her own show on her own network.

It is safe to say that Cameron has made good use of his four years at Our Home by the Sea. He has contributed to all aspects of journalism and media on campus, including the Center for Broadcast Excellence, The Hampton Script, WHOV 88.1 and more, throughout his tenure, while also establishing companies and brands of his own. As a founding member of both High Society, LLC. and The Margin (www.theMRGN.com), his dream is to see both brands continue to grow and expand. Cameron plans to gain more experience in the media industry and pursue his masters degree. He says that stepping onto the campus that very first day and realizing that his life was about to change forever is his favorite HU experience. Camerons advice to students is to always make time for business and pleasure and have a good time, but take advantage of your time here. Keep your circle tight and avoid squares.

If you want something, go get it. Period. Oriana dreams of owning a home on top of a mountain in sunny California. It must have an infinite amount of macaroni and cheese, she exclaimed, and a room dedicated to every camera ever made! Oriana advises students to take advantage of all opportunities that are presented to them. Get as many internships as you possibly can. The right connections will take you places. She emphasizes that networking is all about who you know. Oriana would like to patent her brand name, TheOriShow, immediately after graduating. Under TheOrishow, she hopes to become the producer of her own television show and clothing line.

Uncertainty, is natural and at times scary, but talk to yourself till you figure out what you want to do for a lifetime and go for it all the way. For some people, it takes a little longer to find their true passion while in college. For Isidra, it took almost three years and two changes of major to ultimately find a home at Scripps Howard. Isidra plans to attend The Wedding Planning Institute in New York City in order to prepare herself for a career in event planning. She dreams of owning her own event coordinating and design company in the near future. While Isidra is fond of her memories at the school, her favorite moments at HU were working with the Hampton Players. She assisted the costume crew for two years in a row in the production of the legendary musical Dreamgirls. She advises future Pirates to get involved in something that moves you at HU and never take any opportunity for granted.

Man, the living creature, the creating individual, is always more important than any established style or system. Bruce Lee Julian plans to dive into the fast-paced world of commercial communications. On his journey to the top of his class, he amassed real world experience in a variety of jobs and internships with the aim of becoming a graphic designer in a major market. To current students, Julian says: Find what you want to do in journalism and communications, practice your craft every day, and focus on betterment. Julian considers being a part of the Scripps Howard 10th Anniversary Gala to be his best HU experience. He used the opportunity as a learning experience and says he created like he has never done before. Julians ultimate goal is to become a creative director of cutting edge advertising/marketing campaigns that provide a positive perspective of the product and society, while simultaneously giving back to the community.

She asks: You can have the success and the wealth, but what do those things mean unless you are truly happy?

Stay humble. Never let praise or criticism affect you. Its a weakness to get caught up in either one. Crystal hopes to start a career as on a online writer at her hometown newspaper, The Virginian-Pilot, after graduation. She advises students to start getting experience in their field as soon as possible. Crystal especially stresses getting involved in Scripps Howard student activities and securing a variety of internships.Anything you can use to build your portfolio, go for it. You will have less work to do your senior year. Crystals dream life is to have such a love for her career, that it never feels like shes working. I never want to wake up and dread going to work, says Crystal. Its really cliche, but I truly think thats the new American Dream, not just having a job, but truly loving what you do.

Im just a nobody, trying to tell everybody, about somebody who can save anybody Unknown Ashley will soon be joining the United States Air Force as a public affairs officer. In her dream life, she is using her career to uplift the kingdom of God. In doing so, she says that she is helping people know what it is to be a true relationship with our Lord, Christ Jesus, and so we can all go home! Ashley wishes to share the following advice with students: Dont just rely on your classes to learn your craft. Get involved with activities related to your career and dont be fearful to try new things. She recalls her best experience at HU as being when she started college and was introduced to Christ. Not many people can say that, but I can!

Sometimes you dont realize what you SHOULD have until you let the past go. Jada plans to head to Fort Jackson, S.C. shortly to begin her career as an Army Adjutant General Officer. Shell have three months of training at her first officers school prior to actually working as a Second Lieutenant. Jadas advice to students is to stay true to themselves. Do not get caught up in trying to be popular because youll always end up losing yourself and veering away from your purpose. Jada started saving early, so that when shes 42 years old, shell be a millionaire, settled in Texas with a husband and four beautiful children. She intends to serve 20 years in the Army and will most likely switch over to the government after retirement.

To fear nothing, not failure or suffering or even death, indicates that you value life the most. You live to the extreme you push limits you spend your time building legacies. Those do not die. Maria plans to begin working toward becoming a film director, specializing in documentaries and features. Her favorite memory while at HU was filming Michelle Obamas visit last year, as she found the experience refreshing and exciting. She recalls: The energy of the campus at that time was electric, [which was] something I had never felt prior to her visit. Maria advises students to stay persistent in working toward their goals and to prepare for life after college. The life of her dreams involves her already having achieved her career goal of directing award-winning films, as well as traveling abroad, raising a family, and giving back. She encourages others to follow their dreams.

Throughout her years at HU, seeing first lady Michelle Obama was Jalisas most memorable experience. She enjoyed hearing her plans for the future and great words of encouragement. Life is about falling. Living is getting back up. Celia is one student who used her time at Hampton to grow and experience new things. She will be interning at Voice of America in Washington, D.C. after graduation and also plans on getting her masters in Geo Sciences at Mississippi State University. Her dream life consists of having a successful career in meteorology on The Weather Channel. Celias best HU experience was having the opportunity to anchor on WHOV for her Broadcast News Writing class. She says that her parents are very proud of her achievements, which she is quite happy about because she never thought she would achieve as much as she has because she is such a quiet person. Celia advises students to be nice to their professors and to always try their best.

As well as having a promising career, she envisions a life that includes a husband, three children, a beautiful house and a closer relationship with God. The future PR practitioner will never forget the day she became a woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. in the fall of 2011. Lynbea encourages students to take advantage of as many opportunities as you can and network as much as possible.

She would like to one day see herself as an Oprah mixed with Ryan Seacrest. Adrienne will be attending graduate school and studying media management in her home state. She says that she will always remember the random nights with her friends at HU just enjoying each others company. Her advice to students is to do whatever makes you happy.

She plans to obtain an entry level job in the Hampton Roads area while pursuing her masters degree. Afterward, she wants to relocate to Atlanta in hopes of working for CNN. JaKari advises students to take advantage of everything that Hampton has to offer, join organizations, network and enjoy life, friends and family. Her favorite HU experience was joining the Greer Dawson Wilson Student Leadership Training Program. It allowed her to have the best college experience possible, taught her leadership skills, and most of all, introduced her to so many great people and some of her best friends. JaKaris ultimate dream is to become the executive producer of her own talk show, write a novel, produce a film and showcase her God-given purpose in life. She is a very ambitious individual who plans to go far in life with help from the Lord above.

Live as if you were going to die tomorrow. Learn as if you are going to live forever. Mahatma Ghandi Chaneia plans to attend Emory University to obtain her masters degree in Business Administration. She says her most memorable HU experience was the manhunt game/water balloon fight, adding: For the first time all the students were united and attacking HUPD [Hampton University Police Department] with water balloons. It was a great moment. Chaneias wise advice to students is to take advantage of every opportunity that is presented to you, step outside your comfort zone, [and] dont take yourself too seriously.

To live a healthy life, suck it up now, so you wont have to suck it in later! Erica plans to attend graduate school at the University of Miami or University of Houston. Her dream life would be to live in a big city such as Miami or Los Angeles working as a director/producer for a sports network. She would also like to have a husband and three children. Erica recalls her best HU experience as the spring semester of her freshman year when she attended parties on campus and at the beach. Although she has had a great deal of fun during her years at Hampton, her advice to students is to take full advantage of the tools and resources the school has to offer.

Doing what you love is freedom, loving what you do is happiness. Angela advises students to learn to separate work and your life. College is the best place to do that! After graduation she plans to follow that exact advice, working and continuing to learn and gain as much experience as possible in order to ultimately help her land her dream life owning her own independent media collective, specializing in fashion and art. Angela cites her best experience at Hampton as joining the Rho Alpha Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. in the fall of 2008.

Her dream life simply involves her being happy. She wants to work with a company where their core goals correspond with her own personal goals. Brittany cant wait to share her gifts with the world! During her tenure at HU, Brittany had many memorable experiences, but getting inducted to the Golden Key Honor Society was by far her favorite. Her advice to future students is to be involved and always seek to learn and master new skills.

What is meant for you is for you. Dont stress about things that are out of your control. Good things come to those who wait. Alexis plans to work in the enterprise recruitment marketing department of the Walt Disney Company. In her dream life, she successfully owns and operates her own nonprofit public relations firm. Alexis fondly recalls her favorite HU experiences as having daily conversations with Kevin Moose Anderson and the other members of Scripps Howards radio station, 88.1 WHOV-FM. She advises students to take advantage of all the opportunities on campus to explore and learn about yourself.

Apply yourself to supply your wealth. The only limitations youll ever have are those you place upon yourself. Tanisha plans to attend graduate school in the fall with a focus on marketing. Her dream life consists of her being a successful woman traveling the world. I would have my own consulting firm where clients trust and respect my work! When asked about her favorite HU experience, Tanishas response was immediate: Insomnia Hands down!!! Her advice to students is for them to enjoy the college experience while they can. While she encourages them to have fun, she cautions that they should be sure, of course, to study hard.

Keep yourself to yourself, but be there for those in need. Christopher, a free spirit, has plans to venture into music criticism and photography. He wants to live out the American dream, establish a family, buy a nice house, and have a solid peace of mind. Christophers ideal future entails living comfortably, traveling and attending music festivals. He also prefers not to have to work a 9-to-5 everyday. Christopher considers 100 Days to be one of his best HU experiences. His advice to students is: Fight for your goals as if your life depended on it. He believes that they determine ones life situation.
