for task dependencies are defined only during setup. Once setup is done this information is not used anywhere in the Application. Hence task Progress doesn't consider the task dependencies. Oracle Project currently does not do native scheduling. Therefore any adjustment to the schedule (start/finish dates) of the preceding tasks will not impact the schedule (start/finish dates) of the succeeding tasks. Oracle Project Management, however, do provide bi-directional integration with MS Project for scheduling. The project can be exported to MS Project for scheduling and once the schedule is computed in MS Project, it can be brought back to Oracle Project with the new schedule. More information on MS Project Integration can be found in "Microsoft Project Integration" chapter of the Oracle ProjectManagement User Guide.
