Agenda

1) 2) 3) 4) Planification Execution Review Proposal for Chilean SOP

Planification
1 month before: Meeting with NDMO to

coordinate actions.
1 week before: PowerPoint presentation to NTWC Director and participants. Instruction to participants, tabletop exercise, designate evaluators ( Oceanography Chief, Director).

1 hour before: briefing to participants, check and control that each participant has a CLEAR idea of what to do during the PacWave exercise.

Execution
Major earthquake with epicenter in Valparaso

(SHOA s location), that will include:

a. Main power failure Generators b. Night time( no Director, no Oceanography chief). c. No fix phone, nearest stations tide gauge inoperative (Valparaso, Quintero and San Antonio). d. No tremors results( saturated).

Certain Threat Safe evacuation zone (30 mts above the mean sea level) Several messages

Must be followed up until cancellation

Cancellation
No Threat Minimum after twice the tsunami travel time. Be sure that all possible information sources are taken into account and that enough time passed to give the cancellation message.

Future steps
