SL-Multifunction keyboard USB

Starting up

The keyboard foil of the control you want is inserted into the multifunction keyboard. The multifunction keyboard is connected to the standard USB-interface of the PC with the connection cable. If this is correctly connected, then the active level (0- 6) is indicated above right (on the picture 1 the level 1 is shown) after initializing. With the first start the drivers for the USB keyboard are loaded automatically.

The current level definition is enclosed as information by the delivery. The level definition can be changed however at any time (see also under Load driver). Exception here is the level 0. It is occupied with the driver for the foil MF-II-PC keyboard (102 keys) and can not be changed.

Meaning of the LEDs from left to right: * NUM-LOCK, *CAPS-LOCK, *SCROLL-LOCK and *LEVELS are deleting. *Actual loaded LEVEL. The 7-segment display shows the current level. Meaning of the keys S1 to S4 from left to right:
S1 - Page through the levels S2 - ENTER - function ( only fort he loading operation ); with the USB -keyboard no function S3 - RESET - function ( if the multifunction keyboard "breaks step) S4 Set the selected level with S1

Activate level
By repeated pressing of the key S1 (left above) on the multi-function keyboard the desired level can be selected. The current level appears on the display (on the top right, see also picture 1).

1. The setting is confirmed with the key S4. The four green illuminating diodes (left beside the
level display) blink once (see also picture 1). The level selection remains active also after switching the computer off up to next changing.

Load the driver for a level

In order to program a new level or to reprogram a level already programmed, the following steps are to be executed.

Step 1: Calling the configuration software for the level driver

Insert the provided KEYBOARD-CD-ROM or the CD-ROM of "EXSL-WIN" into the respective drive. Select the button [START] of the Windows command line (Mouse click with the left key of the mouse). Select the item [Execute] (see picture 2) and enter the following: X:\Winmftast\Winmftast.exe (whereby X must be replaced by the letter of your CD ROM drive)

Confirm the input with the button [OK].

Or: Start das Setup-program via the WINDOWS -Explorer by selecting the CD ROM drive and double-click with the left mouse button on the icon [ WinMFTast.exe ] for starting the configuration program.

The configuration program starts thereby from the CD (see picture 3).

The configuration program shows you the definition of the six levels in the area Before exiting the program (see picture 3).

The buttons which are on the lower line, have thereby the following meaning:

deletes all definitions of the individual levels, i.e. three small lines are registered (see in the image 3 the levels 5 and 6). calls this online help of the configuration program for the SL-Multifunction keyboard.

cancel the new level definition and closes the configuration program for the SL-Multifunction keyboards without transferring the data to the keyboard. transfers the current level definition set to the SL-Multifunction keyboard.

Step 2: Selection of the level and its definition

Press the pull-down button with the left mouse key in the field of the level which can be defined. A list of the available keyboard drivers opens (see picture 4).

Selection of the control you want: resp. or with the cursor keys with pressed left mouse button the scroll button at the right edge of list can be moved upward and/or down.

If you move the pointer of mouse on the list a list entry is activated (coloured). With the releasing of the left mouse button or pressing of the key [ENTER] the selected entry is transferred to the field for the level definition. The highest list entry consists of three lines (---) and serves the deletion of the current level definition (see picture 3 level definition 5 and 6).

Step 3: Transmission of the driver to the keyboard

After that all settings were made, the data transmission into the keyboard can be started via the USB interface with the button . The transmission of each level takes 4 to 5 seconds. The complete transmission of one level is acknowledged with an acoustic signal (short sound). The transmission of the individual levels is indicated (see picture 5).

The current level definition is saved into the file C:\SL\WINMFTAST.INI when exiting the software.
