GRAN CARRERA DEL TEAM CAISSE D’EPARGNE

EN LA VUELTA A CHIHUAHUA

Mientras que Javier Benítez se anotó al sprint la sexta y última etapa de la

Vuelta a Chihuahua y que Oscar Sevilla se llevó la clasificación general
final, el conjunto Caisse d’Epargne tuvo también el honor de subirse al
pódium para recibir el premio del mejor equipo mientras que Rui Costa
vestía el maillot rosa de ganador de la montaña.

“Nuestro balance es muy bueno”, comentó José Luis Jaimerena, director

deportivo del team Caisse d’Epargne en la ronde mexicana. “Veníamos
con un equipo que optaba por luchar por la general con Dani Moreno que
ya demostró en el prólogo que estaba muy fuerte. Sin embargó la
situación de la carrera en la tercera etapa, con la escapada de Sevilla,
Ladino, Cioni y Rui Costa (que ganó una bellísima etapa) hizo que
perdiera todas las posibilidades de triunfo final. De todas las maneras,
Dani, al día siguiente, demostró con su victoria de etapa, que era uno de
las ciclistas más fuertes. Por lo demás, el resto del equipo ha cumplido
con sobresaliente en su parte del trabajo lo que nos ha llevado a ganar
por equipos. A nivel individual, Costa ha ganado la general de la montaña
y ha hecho pódium con su 3° puesto final mientras que Moreno termina
el 5°.”



GRANDE COURSE DU TEAM CAISSE D’EPARGNE

AU TOUR DE CHIHUAHUA

Alors que Javier Benítez a remporté au sprint la sixième étape du Tour de

Chihuahua et que Oscar Sevilla a remporté le classement général final,
l’équipe Caisse d’Epargne a également eu l’honneur de monter sur le
podium afin d’y recevoir le prix de la meilleure équipe, tandis que Rui
Costa revêtait le maillot rose de vainqueur du classement de la
montagne.

“Notre bilan est très bon ”, a commenté José Luis Jaimerena, directeur
sportif de la formation Caisse d’Epargne tout au long de la course
mexicaine. “Nous sommes venus sur le continent américain avec une
équipe qui visait le général avec Dani Moreno qui a déjà montré à
l’occasion du prologue qu’il était vraiment très bien. Néanmoins, la
situation de la course lors de la troisième étape, où les échappés
qu’étaient Sevilla, Ladino, Cioni et Rui Costa (qui a à cette occasion
remporté une très belle victoire d’étape) sont arrivés avec un écart
tellement important a fait que toutes les chances de victoire finale se sont
envolées. Dani a néanmoins dès le lendemain prouvé grâce à sa victoire
d’étape qu’il était l’un des plus forts du peloton. Le reste de l’équipe a
également été à la hauteur de la situation, ce qui nous a permis de
remporter le classement par équipes. Au niveau individuel, Costa a
remporté le classement final de la montagne et a pris la troisième place
du classement général final aux temps tandis que Moreno a pour sa part
pris la cinquième place.”



GREAT RACE FOR TEAM CAISSE D’EPARGNE

IN THE TOUR OF CHIHUAHUA

While Javier Benítez won the sixth and last stage of the Tour of Chihuahua
in the sprint and that Oscar Sevilla won the final general classification, the
team Caisse d’Epargne had also the honour to climb on the podium for
being the best team overall while Rui Costa received the pink jersey for
being the best climber of the Tour.

“We really achieved a good race”, commented José Luis Jaimerena,

team manager of Caisse d’Epargne in the Mexican race. “We came here
with the intention of fighting for the general classification with Dani
Moreno who showed already in the prologue hat he was very well.
Nevertheless the race situation in stage 3, with Sevilla, Ladino, Cioni and
Rui Costa (who won there a very beautiful stage) in the breakaway and
which crossed the line more than seven minutes ahead of the bunch,
made so that it was no longer possible for him to win the final
classification. Anyway, Dani showed the next day thanks to his stage win
that he was really one of the strongest riders of the bunch. The other
riders of the team achieved a great job too and as a consequence we won
the final teams classification. Costa won also the mountain classification
and finished third overall while Moreno took place 5 in the final
classification.”
