Philosophy and Goals The Mission of the Athens Community Arts, Parks & Recreation Department is to provide Athens and area residents comprehensive programs, activities and facilities that encourage health, fitness and cultural recreational, educational, and social opportunities in our community. The Athens Community Center Childrens programs are focused on creating quality programing for youth in the area. We want to provide a fun and inviting environment to foster learning, growth, and social experiences for the children. The quality and outline of our programs are based on researched standards and state license recommendations and regulations.

Before and After Camp Care Do you need before and after camp care? We offer care with the purchase of a punch card! Punch Card: $25.00 Punch cards may be purchased at the font desk. Each visit will be one punch. Each card will hold 10 visits or one week worth of punches. Punch cards may roll over each week. Before Care: After Care: 7:30am - 8:30am 3:30pm - 5:30pm

Welcome to the Athens Community Center Youth Summer Day Camp! We hope this information will help get you excited to participate in our quality, enriching, and FUN camp!

FUN Week 1 Summer Camp (The true meaning) Join us for a week of learning what summer camp is all about! Lets make friends, have fun, and learn a little something about what summer camp is all about. We will be engaging in crafts, friends, swimming, and to conclude the week we will be joined by the Camperday crew! Week 2 Move it Move it (I like to) This week of summer camp will be based on how we can make our bodies healthy by playing games and having fun. We will be joined by Ohio University physical education students, the PING center and the College of Osteopathic Medicine Week 3 R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Respect week will be a week where campers give back. Through community partnerships, leadership groups, and volunteers sessions from our older group; our campers will learn what respect and giving back is all about! Week 4 Nature Adventure We are going on a Nature Adventure! During this week our campers will participate in nature learning sessions, survival skill sessions, and learn how we interact with nature around us! Week 5 Slimy Sticky Squishy Why is that slimy? What makes that sticky? That animal is squishy. This science based week will discuss the slimy sticky squishy world around us. Week 6 World of Animals All about animals this week! We will discuss habitats, feeding, and species. This week we will be traveling to the WILDS!

Week 7 Wonderful Water Water everywhere! How does water get into streams? How do we get our drinking water? This water filled week will have water games, learning sessions, and special pool games! Week 8 Golf Pros and Movie Stars This week of camp will be a division based on choice. Portions of the group will participate in a golf based camp. The other portion of the group will have activities planned around movies and theater. The trip this week will be to the movies and or golf course.

Payments and Registration are due by Friday prior to the start date of camp. Example: Participant in Camp Week #1 June 2-6. Payment and Registration due by Friday May 30th Payments and Fees are due in order to enroll in the summer camp program. If Payments and Fees are not paid in full by the end of camp Monday of the registration camp week, the child will be removed from the program.
