2014 Launches
Date: Feb. 5 Mission: Progress 54 Launch Vehicle: Russian Soyuz Launch Site: Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan Description: Progress 54 will deliver cargo and crew supplies to the International Space Station.
Date: Feb. 27 Mission: Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) Core Observatory Launch Vehicle: H-IIA Launch Site: Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) Tanegashima Space Center, Tanegashima Island, Japan Launch Window: 1:37 to 2:37 p.m. EST Description: GPM is an international satellite mission led by NASA and JAXA to provide next-generation observations of rain and snow worldwide.
Date: March 16 Time: 4:41 a.m. EDT Mission: SpaceX-3 Commercial Resupply Services flight Launch Vehicle: Falcon 9 Launch Site: Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla. Launch Pad: Space Launch Complex 40 Description: SpaceX-3 will be the third commercial resupply mission to the International Space Station by Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX).
Date: March 25 Mission: Expedition 39 Launch Vehicle: Soyuz 38 Launch Site: Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan Description: Soyuz 38 will take Steve Swanson, Oleg Artemyev and Alexander Skvortsov to the International Space Station.
Date: April 28 Mission: Progress 55 Launch Vehicle: Russian Soyuz Launch Site: Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan Description: Progress 55 will deliver cargo and crew supplies to the International Space Station.
Date: May 1 Mission: Orbital 2 Commercial Resupply Services flight Launch Vehicle: Antares Launch Site: Wallops Flight Facility

Date: May 28 Mission: Expedition 40 Launch Vehicle: Soyuz 39 Launch Site: Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan Description: Soyuz 39 will take Reid Wiseman, Maxim Suraev and Alexander Gerst to the International Space Station.
Date: June 6 Mission: SpaceX 4 Commercial Resupply Services flight with ISS-RapidScat Launch Vehicle: Falcon 9 Launch Site: Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla. Launch Pad: Space Launch Complex 40 Description: SpaceX 4 will deliver cargo and crew supplies to the International Space Station. It will also carry the ISS-RapidScat instrument, a replacement for NASA's QuikScat Earth satellite to monitor ocean winds for climate research, weather predictions, and hurricane monitoring.
Date: July Mission: Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2 (OCO-2) Launch Vehicle: Delta II 7320 Launch Site: Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. Launch Pad: Complex 2 Launch Window: 2:56 a.m. PDT, 1-second window Description: OCO-2 is an Earth satellite mission to study carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and provide scientists with a better idea of the chemical compound's impacts on climate change.
Date: July 24 Mission: Progress 56 Launch Vehicle: Russian Soyuz Launch Site: Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan Description: Progress 56 will deliver cargo and crew supplies to the International Space Station.
Date: Sept. 12 Mission: SpaceX 5 Commercial Resupply Services flight with Cloud-Aerosol Transport System (CATS) Launch Vehicle: Falcon 9 Launch Site: Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla. Launch Pad: Space Launch Complex 40 Description: SpaceX 5 will deliver cargo and crew supplies to the International Space Station. It will also carry CATS, a laser instrument to measure clouds and the location and distribution of pollution, dust, smoke, and other particulates in the atmosphere.
Date: September 30 Mission: Expedition 41 Launch Vehicle: Soyuz 40 Launch Site: Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan Description: Soyuz 40 will take Barry Wilmore, Yelena Serova and Alexander Samoukutyaev to the International Space Station.
Date: Oct. 22 Mission: Progress 57 Launch Vehicle: Russian Soyuz Launch Site: Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan Description: Progress 57 will deliver cargo and crew supplies to the International Space Station.
Date: November Mission: Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) Launch Vehicle: Delta II 7320 Launch Site: Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. Launch Pad: Complex 2 Launch Window: 7:16 a.m. PDT, 9-minute window
