you first use your SONA.r you will
need to fully charge the unit and

broadcasts a signal that your phone will pick
up and connect with.

eventually stop blinking to indicate that the
sonar is waking up. (If you need to take the
sonar out of water, please put it back in the
water within 30 seconds. If you do not put it
back in the water within 30 seconds, the red
lights will blink slower and slower and
eventually stop to indicate that its going into
sleep mode)

phone/tablet.
4. Scan for devices.

Connecting SONA.r to your phone

Turning on sonar on your Android device:
After starting the FishHunter (Android) application,

The list of Paired Sonars shows all sonars that
have been previously paired. Make sure to connect
to the sonar that is available (within range, has
sufficient battery, and is in the water). If you choose
a sonar that is not available, it will result in a failure
in connection.
Attempting to connect with an available sonar can
take anywhere from 2 to 20 seconds depending on
the amount of interference in the air.
You will only be able to turn on the sonar when the
connection is successfully established.
If you have not paired your device with any sonar
before, you will see the following message on the
screen:

the Help videos for instructions on pairing.

SONAR CARE
ATTENTION
Please operate this device where the
temperature is between -30C and 40 C (22F to 104 F). Extreme low or high
temperature conditions might temporarily
shorten battery life or cause the device to
alter its behavior to regulate its
temperature.
Store the device where the temperature is
between -5C and 30 C (23F to 86 F).
Dont leave the device in your car, because
temperature in parked cars can exceed this
range.
Taking Care of the Sonar:
1. After retrieving the sonar from the water,
simply pull up the rubber skin with your
hands/fingers so that it is back to its
original place. Since the sonar is wet, it
should be easy to pull the skin up.
2. Next, rinse the sonar with fresh water
(especially if the sonar has been deployed in
salty water).
8

SONAR CARE
3. Make sure the 3 tiny stainless steel pads
on the bottom of the sonar are completely
clean and shiny, and do not have any salt
residues on them.
4. Dry the sonar completely with a dry towel
before charging or putting it in storage.
